This is like my white whale of games that I just can't seem to enjoy. I have described the planetoid gimmick as bad Sonic bonus levels, but it's not that bad. I just can't get on with the camera and controls.

@Portally I got rid of mine, but enjoyed it well enough when I had it. The Retroid can do the same w hall sticks and an AMOLED.

OMG why people is crying? The NES was $5,000 in 2026 monies, hurrrr.

@hol_up Yeah my seven year old plays Rayman Legends, Astro Bot, Mario Odyssey, etc etc. I think Scribblenauts better fills a similar space as this game might (and it is a sneaky way to teach him to spell).

It's hilarious to me that the best looking, playing, and sounding Yoshi game is Yoshi's Island. A few have looked cool enough, but have failed to hold my interest for more than a few hours. It's been a disappointing series since then.

@BAN I feel the exact opposite. I think publishers should start putting "6/10-IGN" in their promotional material. It is practically an endorsement by now.

The first game on DS is legitimately great. The series started looking a bit too much like it was created in a Maker, if you catch my drift. Like assembled from a set of blocks. Wonder looks like a real place.

I didn't know this was even coming to Switch. I love twin-stick shooters. Guess this is what I am doing between hours of TP Dusk.
Edit: oh, Switch 2 nvm. Guess I will get the PS5 version instead. Pretty smart for them to put it out for maybe 1/10th of the audience they could have...

@OrtadragoonX I adore that game. I sold a room of people on it by taking badguy, slamming his head into my car, tossing him into my trunk, and bailing from the car off a pier and shooting the gas tank to make it splode.

It doesn't look like it has any style besides "realistic," imo. It has that "What if Star Fox was in Unreal 5?!?" look.

So excited for this. The Gameboy Zeldas are some of my favorite games. Will probably own two or three copies of this.

The most interesting thing about Star Fox is the way the first game looked. Beyond that, it's a Furry Star Wars rail shooter. Like if any first party game should be $20-$30, it's this.
I'm glad they're making another Star Fox game, just wish it was more interesting.

The whole "you need to be psychic to beat this first try" thing has been a problem with R-type from the outset.

It's nearly perfect. They need to put the first-person perspective back in the game. It's a me thing, I know, but I just love switching between perspectives to take in the environments.

I am on comfort food while the collection is packed up for the move. So, mainly rally racers and Doom mods. I am jonesing to grab Mouse PI, but I am not trying to download that on hotel wi-fi.

I will take the NES-64 OSTs over Galaxy's any day. It was insult to injury, imo, for this beautiful orchestral score to be booming while I am staring at the bottom of Mario's foot and trying to platform in crappy Sonic bonus levels. Wasn't the entire game, but it was enough of the game.

Game is way better than it has any right to be. A TMNT licensed Hades clone that was Apple Arcade exclusive for a while, if I remember right.
I only wish it had a mode that streamlined the stat-heavy character build mechanics, for my youngest.

The answer is yes. But mostly the cut off for those halcyon days of yore is around sixth gen. People bought cheap DVD players, GTA and Madden converters for their TVs. That was the beginning of the normies sh*tting up the joint.
