I'm sure seeing your new system chug out the gate sucks...but the last time it was BotW. I'm annoyed with Nintendo for pricing and their Draconian EULAs and those empty carts, but this game looks amazing.

I usually don't bristle at cuteness, but this game was way too twee for me.

@mlt the combat, missions, and stealth are all terrible, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Star of Providence for me. It's excellent.
Xenoblade started to click right about when I started playing a lot of old Doom and 6th gen stuff, so I kind of dipped out of that one for a bit. I'll get back to it next time I'm feeling like playing something that takes that much time.

I choose to not vote as both are not great, imo.

Brutal Heretic RPG and Diamond Dragon mods on the Retroid. Since I've started using it as a Doom mod machine, I haven't touched much else.

Man those first two games are a blast. They weren't scared to just be stupid games about space dinos or whatever. The third one played Half-life and thought it was just THE COOLEST.

@Ultimapunch dude ofc they will. People bought into digital walled gardens where publishers have complete control over pricing, swallowing the line that digital goods will be cheaper. Hey make sure not to buy games used, also, or layoffs might happen... they will if the game is successful too, but don't pay attention to that. People lose their minds about this or that controversy than go get the thing they were railing against just so they can tweet about it.

They also removed the ability to flub tricks, and previews are saying it's painfully slow. Sigh.

Probably a whole lot of Doom on my Retroid. I am in love w the mod Unseen Evil 64. It converts original Doom maps into Doom 64 maps. It works crazy well. It also has sprites for the missing 64 enemies, and they're great. That, a random fog mod, a glowing demon eyes mod, and the PS1 OST. It's a mood.

I was shocked at how incredible it looks, still too rich for my blood.

@Ryu_Niiyama Agreed about VA. It's like discovering a series of books with an actor on the cover, because a film adaptation was made. Annoying.

@Coalescence I have that same version, and it has some significant slowdown. Android has touch control only. There's seriously no perfect version.

So the Android version might still be best. Weird, but it's FFT. They can't do right by it, lol.

I'll say again, R* pushing out a quick port to fill the coffers because they had to delay GTA does not bode well. There's a precedent here.
Hopefully it's just a simple visual upgrade and they don't butcher the game like 3-SA.

Do the 3D games have an option to disable the PS1's texture warping? These were very solid in that regard but still distracting enough, especially since emulators have had that feature for ages.

@Medic_alert That's how I feel about Hogwarts Legacy, but everyone seemed pretty over the moon with it. I enjoyed these games a lot back in the day. I knew they were somewhat disposable w all the pop culture BS though.

I think they're all fabulous, and am hit with nostalgia for most NA DC box art...but that Japan cover really stands out. Gorgeous.

@Medic_alert it really is all over the place. Hell, I was hoping for a 3DS style backlash, and I'm not getting one until at least an OLED revamp. I still acknowledge it seems to be killing it.

I'll be skipping this one until my arm gets twisted with Mario and Zelda. That's as far as my restraint will most likely extend. Sucks to miss a launch but I'll be fine. I've found that I need carts for my favorite Switch 1 games, and never really thought about that. The absolute must have bangers I got digitally as soon as I could.

Just going w Standard, personally. I only wonder if I should wait on physical until all updates are out.

Mario Kart these days is just not fun to play if you're playing well. Being in first place and getting pelted w shells etc over, and over, and over is a miserable experience.

I have a Retroid 5 and it's made most portable screens look pretty ridiculous. It's an AMOLED, and it's gorgeous.

I know it's cool to hate on BotW now, but it's one of my favorites of all time. I associate it with the Army finally getting me the benefits I needed and getting out of homelessness, so it helps, lol.
It's a vacation..a great place to just disappear.

I went with a Retroid 5 instead of a Switch 2. I'm playing Cyberpunk and Doom on there.
