Re: Team Cherry Explains Hollow Knight: Silksong's "Steep Difficulty"

LUIGITORNADO

Idk. If that formula works for people then have at it.

It’s not for me. I like difficulty but I don’t like meandering difficulty. I don’t like difficulty that sends me in the opposite direction for hours only to hit another wall. It doesn’t respect my time, so I won’t waste my time

I really dislike the term that combines Metroid and Castlevania because to describe games like Hollow Knight and Silksong. Metroid and Castlevania are some of my favorite games, and Team Cherry games feel nothing like that, and the drawing comparison just feels like a marketing trick.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch) - An Underrated Gem Transforms Into The Series' Best

LUIGITORNADO

I dropped the one on Wii U after 20 hours.

I enjoyed the first one, and the 2nd with its DLC. Haven’t played 3 yet.

My problem with X is it had too many systems and too much going on. Too many characters and side content felt meandering. I spent more time button mashing through boring dialogue than with the combat.

2 was breath of fresh air compared to X even with the gratcha stuff

I doubt that’s been reworked while reading through the review. Sometimes a game can be too long and have too much going on for it.

Maybe if it was younger and had time, I’d happily get lost in X for 200 hours. But I’ll pass.

10 really seems out of place. I can imagine some might be duped by a perfect store and get wrapped up into the hype. I was with with Wii U version

Re: Review: Donkey Kong (GB) - One Of The Game Boy's Very Best

LUIGITORNADO

Mario Land, Crazy Castle, Links Awakening, and Donkey Kong were my first Gameboy games as a kid.

This was my first exposure to the DK character. I know people got a soft spot for the Rare redesign, but I never got over it, simply because I remember how expressive this sprite work was in this game. How much character DK had just utilizing a few pixels.

I wish they’d go full-stop back to this design, and stop teasing it
