Re: Fire Emblem Engage Anime-Like Opening Cinematic Surfaces Online

LUIGITORNADO

@Rayquaza2510 I don’t think only weebs watch anime.

I associate the high energy, flamboyant, fan service looking stuff with western weebs I spent my teenage years talking to on forums.

Thanks for the info though.

I am a casual watcher. If an anime interests me then I’ll watch it.

I just dislike this approach to FE. To me the older fire Emblem games may represent anime trends/tropes from that era, but it’s preferable than what I’m seeing with Engage.

Like I can’t believe I’m saying this because I complained about Three Houses and how different it was, but I perfer how that game presented itself over Engage.

Idk. I guess as a kid playing Sacred Stones, PoR and RD, I envisioned this series growing into something more dramatic and grounded. I don’t want to say like “Game of Thrones” because I think there’s a place for Fire Emblem’s silly sense of humor, and it’s still a video game, but yeah…something a bit more mature with a focus on political intrigue and not this nonsensical fantasy rainbow farting trumpet.

Tbh. If someone made a Fire Emblem game that presented itself sort of like a western medieval fantasy. Maybe sort of like Dragon Age Origins, with interesting characters, but still inherently Japanese in style and design (like dark souls/berzerk)…I’d love that game to pieces.

I still love the gameplay though…

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Fire Emblem Engage

@KindofaBigDeal

Thing is with most video game journalism is by exetension they work for the PR department for these companies.

Unless a company really botches a game previews are going to me more or less favorable.

It’s not really paying off, but these sites are attempting to not sully their relationship with publishers by being overtly negative about products.

Media trades are what this industry runs on.

Re: Nintendo Introduces Chloe In Fire Emblem Engage

LUIGITORNADO

@Polvasti

I agree. The flamboyant designs don’t do anything for me.

As soon as a dev makes a FE game with a dark fantasy look, I’m out of this franchise.

I still like the gameplay loop of battles. It’s the only reason why I still buy FE games.

And lol @ that other Pete user talking about “females” and liking the character “breasts.” Some people just fit the stereotype I guess.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

LUIGITORNADO

I will not boycott the game. Taylor isn't the only artist involved in creating it.

I do support her though.

This really is despicable behavior. I don't care if the rate is the status quo.

AND TBH I hate that they got Hale. You can tell it's Hale. It's Hale trying to sound like Taylor's Bayonetta.

Taylor put the work in, she did the two other games (anime movie too?). The voice she created has informed the character work since then.

I'm so annoyed by this and for Taylor.

Re: Nintendo Introduces The Cast Of Bayonetta 3

LUIGITORNADO

Still mildly annoyed they recasted Bayonetta. Nothing against Hale, but she got one of those voices where I just hear it everywhere. It sounds like she’s doing an accent.

The equivalent would be casting Nolan North as Kratos.

Helena Taylor was perfect.

Re: Talking Point: Where Are All The Lord Of The Rings RPGs On Console?

LUIGITORNADO

Dead in the water I hope.

I like Shadows of Mordor. Don't need anything else other than that type of hack and slash.

Fantasy is oversaturated in video games. A LotR RPG has little to nothing to say compared to all its Tolkien fantasy clones that have been popping up in popular media the last four decades.

Tired of it. Let the old man's work go dead please.
