I’m not sure this game is for me but the ad is really cute. He seemed to really get into it.

To be fair, I truly feel when Super Rare Games announced this whole “Limited Run Physical Only Initiative” they likely figured 90% of the people buying the game would never open it to play it anyways.

@Rosalinho totally agree. I’ve felt really bad for some other fan games that got shut down but I don’t feel at all for these guys. They basically admitted they’re stealing assets as a way to get more eyes on their game. I hope that gets brought against them while in court.

They can say “innovate” as many times as they want but it doesn’t suddenly make copying someone else’s assets “innovative”

I understand people like making fan games but at least if you get shut down own you to it.

I’m honestly still at a complete loss of what to say about my confusion that the title describes this as a game about “discovering fries for the first time” and then the first thing I saw when clicking the trailer is “Rated T for Sexual Themes”. Nothing even looked that bad in the trailer.

@andykara2003 I agree. I’m honestly really confused that their stationary. Every other character I’ve seen moves in the ball.

Honestly the whole intense gambling restriction for the game corner seems that much weirder to me the second I stop and think how the winner of a Pokémon battle wins money from the loser in the main game. Isn’t that basically gambling already?

@Dragonslacker1 There was a world of this in Super Mario Sunshine. I know it’s not a full game but it was a fun world at least.

After reading the article and watching the video I still don’t understand what the “unique checkpoint system” is. It reads as if it’s just “you get a checkpoint when you pass an area” which is how every checkpoint system in a game works.

I’m confused about the “makes everyone a speedrunner” tag line too.

How did Crab News Thursday start as a concept? It seems very random and I can’t figure out if I’m missing something because it’s not an alliteration thing or anything but there was definitely a lot of research that went into this and it was a fun read. Definitely my favorite crab news Thursday article yet.

Did they ever say the demo was a limited thing? I don’t remember but if they didn’t this feels a bit deceitful, like they’re trying to trick people into buying the game without being able to now play the demo first to see how poor it is.

I was convinced this was an April Fool’s joke until I just noticed the site you’re linking to where the shares can be bought. Now I’m not sure.

@Bydlak I felt the same way as soon as I saw it and I may have felt differently if it didn’t clash so badly with the style of the trailer which seems to want to make the game seem mysterious and potentially dark.

I remember always having this on my list of games I might pick up on a sale on Wii U but I never did. Maybe I’ll look into it on Switch.

I loved the game I had on GBA. It gave me a real Custom Robo vibe yet it played a bit like smash brothers in battle.

I didn’t originally get around to watching this video since it was a bit longer but I was curious and saved the link I just watched it now and have to say this is one of the most wholesome things I’ve seen on here in a long time. I was smiling the whole time and I needed this since I’ve been having a rougher morning. Thank you so much for sharing this, Zion.

As much as I loved Celeste I kind of... get this. To be there were equal parts of enjoyment between the gameplay and the story and I feel like if they tried to continue the story it would to a disservice to this story.

Back when the GameCube was Nintendo’s current system I had an external monitor that could connect to it and attached to the top and I got so much use out of that on planes and road trips. It was really great!

That being said, I don’t necessarily get the point of this for Switch. Sure it’s a bigger screen but it’s a screen for a system that already has its own substantial screen. I’d be curious if they sell many of these.

This reminds me a lot of Layton in a good way. I’m going to keep an eye on this one.

The game is tough, it would be a lie to say it isn’t but it’s doable. I beat the game and I’m so happy I did.

After that I started the post game challenges and I had some fun with them but I stopped somewhere halfway through when I realized I was getting more frustration from enjoyment out of them by that point. But the main game was absolutely amazing.

The two Mario World games, Link to the Past and Super Metroid are all AMAZING but since I’ve played them to death I’ve actually now been enjoying Star Fox and Kirby’s Dream Course both of which I haven’t played in at least 15 years.

@RiggsHB it seems I’ve unfortunately missed the sale but I’ll definitely have to pick it up. I keep hearing good things. The only real thing that’s been holding me back at this point is the size of my backlog so I figure no harm in waiting for a sale again.

I keep considering picking up Blossom Tales on sales to scratch that Zelda itch (I’ve been on the fence). I’m always down for another Zelda-like but from the looks of this I should definitely get Blossom Tales before even considering this.

Honestly the deals were never all that great so it’s hard to be too mad they’re gone but... I can’t help but feel some frustration that they’re now REMOVING more things from My Nintendo when they haven’t added anything of any SUBSTANCE since... honestly, release I guess? I mean, if they were putting something in place of this I would be ecstatic but it seems like right now the plane is just to make My Nintendo even more useless.

There are plenty of reasons to dislike mobile games but this in particular is not something exclusive to them.

When I first watched the trailer before reading the article I thought the player was controlling the boss which seemed like an interesting spin on the genre. I was a little disappointed when I realized that’s not the case.

I’ve been rewatching Full Metal Alchemist lately and the characters, enemies and even fighting style in this are definitely giving me a lot of FMA vibes.

That said I also agree with everyone saying the graphics are pretty bad.

That’s probably the last time I watch a trailer before reading the article. I was so confused... I was like halfway in like “where’s the gameplay?” And then I saw a quick shooting section on top of a girl and was like “...was that it? Was that the gameplay...?”

Reading first could have helped me avoid a lot of confusion.

I unfortunately just revisited these games VERY recently on 3DS so I can’t see myself buying these but I highly recommend the trilogy to anyone who hasn’t played the series and is curious about it!

I may need to get Bust a Move 2 once it comes out for old times sake. I remember playing that series like crazy with my mom way back in the day.

Everyone else already pointed out the errors that:

1) You don’t want to use water Pokémon against Zappos as suggested in this article. That’s a horrible idea.

2) You don’t fight the Elite Four at the Power Plant.

So instead I’ll point out the OTHER mistake. You don’t get TM25 at the Power Plant, you get TM38 Thunder.

I agree with some of what the other comments are saying about price vs hours but also wanted to come into the comments to say the music is really catchy!

Legitimate curious question as someone who doesn’t have this game or know that much about it...

As this game uses completely made up teams, how did people even know these two teams were a thing that was supposed to exist in the game but was missing? I’m not trying to be smart, I’m honestly curious mostly because I’m wondering if there’s some full built logic to the teams.

@MotaroRIP Most is the reason this game has been in the news so much is because people’s JOBS AND LIVILIHOODS were at risk.

But hey, how dare you have to either read about it or skip a headline about it, right? That would be unforgivable.

At first I was going to make a comment about wanting to be a Magikarp master but after reading how this is a Pokémon vs Pokémon thing i’m more curious for that ditto master fight!

@ClassSonicSatAm the big difference between this and the Sonic and Rayman mobile games is that the Sonic and Rayman games were made by the same companies who made the respective GBA games so they absolutely had the RIGHTS to use those GBA sprites. This is not the same company that made the GBA game and it would have been plagiarism.

That’s funny. I would say PC/Switch/XBONE are the best way to play since they have an open community which is ideal for this type of game.

Hey, that’s interesting, I just gave a perfect reason of why PS4 is the WORST way to play Fortnite while Sony’s CEO couldn’t actually give any reason of why PS4’s dictatorship is supposedly the “best way to play”. If he truly believed that it should have been incredibly easy to give a reason, right?

I guess this must be their attempt to simply go out with a bang as opposed to trying to fly under the radar.

This is bigger “news” than frankly just about anything else in the last 10-20 articles I see on the homepage and I don’t see you same users posting that comment on each of those articles.

The existence of past articles on NintendoLife about Fortnite doesn’t suddenly mean NintendoLife should stop reporting absolutely MAJOR NEWS just because it is about Fortnite. WHY should NintendoLife NOT report important Nintendo video game related news? Just because you can’t keep yourself from clicking articles that you personally aten’t interested in? That is INCREDIBLY self centered. It’s very easy to skip over an article, I do it all the time when I see an article that’s not relevant to my own interests. In fact, I bet a lot of the readers who visit this site do exactly the same thing. In fact, I’m not even that big of a Fortnite fan so I’ve personally skipped a number of Fortnite articles but clicked this article because I knew the importance of these two massive brands working together.

I honestly can’t tell if the people asking “how is this news” are trolling or not.

Please continue to keep us all aware of some of the biggest video game related news (for games like Fortnite on Nintendo platforms of course as per the goal of your site).

I really enjoyed this on Wii U and was originally thinking of double dipping but I think I either won’t or will wait until a big sale. The demo made me realize the tapping felt less accurate than it does on Wii U with the stylus and I could see that getting frustrating and there’s not nearly enough new content. That being said, I really enjoyed the game and highly recommend it to anyone who didn’t own it on Wii U.

@Giygas_95 You forgot Xenoblade X as far as Wii U games they should bring over. I’m really hoping they bring it over as I never got it on Wii U since nowadays I can’t see myself putting that much time into a non-portable game but I would definitely get it on Switch!

This is incredibly dissapointing but not all too surprising.

When 2k18 was announced on Switch, I really wanted to get it since I am a big WWE fan and hadn’t gotten a WWE game in years. When I saw in previews and reviews just how broken the game was, I decided I was going to wait until there was a patch and a sale. Great sales came along but the only patch they put out was a joke. I figured maybe they’d be another patch but it never came. It was obviously they had given up on even making an attempt with the game and I guess now they’re not even going to try at all with 2k19.

So... Mega Man then?
