This is strange, I have memories of playing this game through a rental or two back in the day on PS1 and barely touching the main mode but it having a mode where you could basically explore a dungeon and fight monsters in the dungeon using the regular 3D arena fighting system but now I can’t seem to find evidence of that existing in this. Maybe I’m confusing the series with something else but I’m not sure what.
Edit: After a bit of googling of different PS1 3D fighters, it looks like what I was mixing this up with was “Tobal No. 1”.
This looks and sounds like something I would love. I was really trying to figure out why I’ve never played it before and only heard vaguely of it before until I got to the point where it’s never released in NA.
Hoping it comes soon to either Switch Online or even a collection or remake!
Come to think of it, the most recent time I broke Mario Kart Live out was with a new cat we got who was a little skittish around people. As long as I went slow with the kart she was much more interested to go up close to the kart than with us so it was a nice way to sort of be able to play with her.
I did really like him by the end. I was admittedly surprised in that final chapter that he didn’t really get much chance to interact with Gavelle. With what had developed by that point, it would have been interesting to see as they never outright said but seemed to suggest that Gavelle took him under her wing because she knew how corrupt Excelsius was and was hoping to help Eustace become different from his father (while also helping him grow up at the same time)
I’m pretty sure the master trainer challenges were an update but I’m second guessing myself now since I’m having trouble finding anything online to confirm that. Those were definitely a cool challenge but quite absurd to try to do them all. I hope you enjoy Scarlet! Scarlet and Violet are a lot of fun despite all the flak they get! Sure, they truly do run quite terribly (though supposedly some updates have since helped with that) but the actual gameplay is fun and an interesting change from prior Pokemon games. I’ve been enjoying ZA quite a bit already! I went in a bit blind which I haven’t done with a Pokemon game in a while and I’m kinda appreciating having done that now.
The coins were a great idea overall and I felt they helped pad the game since I’d search through the levels instead of just rushing them but that bug did surprise me. When I encountered it, I searched a bunch online and even on PC it sounds like there’s not an official patch which really surprised me.
I finally got to watch Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva today! I loved it. It did such a great job bringing things in from the games (like the puzzles) while also changing them to better fit the format of a movie. I thought they did a great job with the twists or riddles for the most part except for one to a degree which was at the very end where they mentioned that Melina was a reincarnation of the queen of Ambrosia. That just seemed very rushed and almost out of nowhere at that point where perhaps it could have bit better if it felt like they had more time to develop it prior to that. I absolutely loved the movie though and it left me wishing they’ll make more Layton movies though and that World of Steam will release sooner.
@Tyranexx I was honestly shocked how quickly they pretty much wrapped up Eustace’s story arc and character development on that last case but I think the main reason was I was so much under the impression over the course of the game that he was meant to be the usual “rival” character whereas in a sense they kinda subverted it in the end and made that character more Gavelle (though certainly Eustace did play a very important role too). It felt like after the first part of the final case that Eustace wasn’t really involved with the final case besides a quick nod here or there. I kinda like that throwing me off a little though and certainly it didn’t feel out of nowhere either since Gavelle was in the game just as long as Eustace prior to that. I’m excited for when you play the other games too and see all the other “rivals” as I feel AA has always done a great job especially with those characters.
It’s definitely been a balance with 100%ing games. Honestly updates make things weird nowadays sometimes too. I think it was Pokemon Let’s Go where I was enjoying it and just about 100% it by filling the Pokédex and beating everything and then an update added 153 Master Trainers that required you to raise each individual Pokemon really well to stand a chance and then I just tapped out right there. Extra content is always nice but something like that can get so daunting whereas when it was just filling the Pokédex it was enjoyable. I just got Legends Z-A and avoided spoilers so far but based on what 100% involves there will definitely effect whether or not I actually do it, haha. Otherwise I’ll just enjoy the main game.
I almost forgot but there was still one rough oversight I ran into when playing Pepper Grinder recently which I was shocked to find out there was no patch for. If you remember, each level has those 5 collectible coins that you can use in the shop to buy costumes, collectibles and keys to open bonus levels. Even the bonus levels have coins. If you buy all the costumes and collectibles before buying the final bonus level key, you can never unlock that level on that file since you won’t have enough coins. I ran into that by accident and was enjoying the game enough (and found it short enough) that I started a new file but that really did seem like a crazy thing for them to overlook. It was a great game besides that and at least since I knew the game well by that point my second file that I did 100% ended up having roughly half the play time of the first file.
@Tyranexx thank you! I was struggling to figure out the right symbols for the spoiler tags in the last message so even knowing they existed I eventually gave up.
That makes sense what you’re saying now. Since the case was pretty long I guess I forgot the whole part at the beginning where Eustace talks about going to the dump to try to find more evidence but all he could find was the newspaper. I guess based on that it’s likely the bones are somewhere in that dump as well but either more hidden or even cremated and hidden there even better as a result. That would make sense too considering Winner’s obsession with lighters. Excelsius really was quite a fully evil villain whereas Saint at least had some things to feel bad for him for. Oh and I read something about how the box art and icon have Saint hidden in like the SMALLEST part of the art (between Eustace’s hands) to get him on the art but not give away his importance and I thought that was pretty cool.
I’ve admittedly also been slooooowly moving away from feeling the need to be a completionist on EVERY game, especially when I beat some games and then feel trying to 100% it would ruin the fun that I did have. Hyper Light Drifter was one game I played recently and enjoyed quite a bit and beat it but as soon as I looked everything involved with 100% beating it I just put it away. Still a fun game though.
That sounds so frustrating with Pepper Grinder! I had no clue it got all those later patches but now I’m kinda glad I waited so long to play it. I felt the final boss was tough but fair in the end but if I had that experience I would have been so frustrated.
This is the first time in quite a while I haven’t submitted anything since I honestly couldn’t find something I played and loved that didn’t already have a review or already get featured in one of these articles! Great job Nintendolife!
I did somehow overlook Flynn: Son of Crimson which I loved and see did get a shoutout this time around so that’s great! I’m also glad someone “Be Brave, Barb” because I love all the Dadish games and somehow didn’t even know this existed! I just added like 6 games from this article to my already way too large wishlist and backlog but always nice to discover new gems!
@Tyranexx I didn’t even realize it was possible to do spoiler tags! If I had, I would have done it for my last message too just in case anyone who hasn’t played the game and is interested to reads this. I tried to instead just stay a bit vague.
Oh, now I get it. I hadn’t pieced that together with the bones in the bag though I did know they dug him up. I was under the impression they somehow preserved the body and first tried to say it was the original body that was found until they suddenly realized it wasn’t which was what left me confused. Chairman Winner really was quite the piece of work and I’d argue even more of a villain that the “final villain” who at least had some sadness to his backstory. I also loved what they did with Eustace by the end. I do hope they eventually do make another AA game but you’ll definitely enjoy the rest of the series too!
I haven’t gotten the chance to sit down with Eternal Diva yet sadly but I’m looking forward to it!
I can be a bit of a completionist so I often try to go for top medals in time trials but I feel like I’ll often realize just from the first 2 or 3 if they feel tough but fair or just seem absurd in what they expect you to do to get those medals. I recently played and did all the time trials in Pepper Grinder which was a fun and short game where thankfully the time trials felt much more in the “tough but fair” side and not the absurd side where they expect you to like use glitches and make absurd times.
@Tyranexx it took me some time but I finally beat it too! I feel like it still left me some questions like who was the body double and what happened to the original body but other than that it felt like it was very well wrapped up. Admittedly I also kept expecting Manfred to appear in modern day and was confused afterwards until I looked up on a Phoenix Wright wiki and realized I had forgotten something from the original games that explains why he wouldn’t be there.oh and I also really loved that showdown at the end that you’re referring to! They really did such a great job developing everyone in AA:I2 and it was impressive by the end just how much each case tied in together. I feel like a couple AA games end up feeling like they have 1 “filler” case but this definitely didn’t. I loved my time with it! I totally get the series break. I’m tempted to play some similar games but will probably take a break from that style for a little now too. I still have Murder by Numbers on my backlog which is supposed to be like Ace Attorney meets Picross so maybe that will be my next game when I want to dive back into this style unless I go for Dangaronpa first.
I found that same upload! I’m hoping I get to watch Eternal Diva this weekend!
I would absolutely love full voice acting for the whole series and would probably revisit them for that! I agree seeing the AA Trilogy get an update after all this time gives some hope.
I’ve kinda gone both ways with time trials depending how they do it. It wasn’t bad at all in DKL3 but I never really attempted it much on Returns or Tropical Freeze since it felt super, super daunting in those!
Honestly I still think they’re eventually going to reveal this is supposed to be Baby Rosalina and use this in marketing for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
The Pikmin music was of course intentional but I feel that was probably more of just an Easter egg in the same way there’s some Pikmin hidden in Super Nintendo World even though there’s nothing larger than that is Pikmin related in the park.
I often forget that N64 had RPGs other than Paper Mario (Yay!) and Quest 64 (Boo!) though I know there weren’t many of them. I know this is a little different being a Tactics RPG but still. I may have to finally get around to trying it some day.
As someone who has submitted quite a few games for the Games We Missed articles in the past, I have to say it’s getting harder and harder to find a game I’d recommend that hasn’t already been covered in one of those articles or in a proper review. Love these articles and great job Nintendolife for doing this and giving some more coverage to more games with these!
@Tyranexx You beat me there in the end! Admittedly I got a little distracted by Super Mario Galaxy 2 (and having a busy weekend) but am hoping to dig myself back into the case a bit tomorrow. I loved Trials and Tribulations so glad to hear that comparison! And I can already see how this is going to be convoluted since I feel this chapter has already involved like 3 kidnappings and at least 2 murders, haha. It’s hard to think of another that had as many things tied in together in any of the games.
I would love a Layton vs Wright sequel! I will have to check out Last Specter and the movie. Also ProZD has always been funny when I’ve seen his stuff so maybe after the movie I’ll have to check that out too.
That’s good to know with the two FDC games. I would probably end up playing them in release order myself.
Regarding voice acting in AA, once you get to the later games that at least add some voice acted cutscenes but they’re sadly quite short and there aren’t very many. Tangle Tower was fully voice acted and that would be great to see in AA one day. I felt at least even having those cutscenes helped me give more specific voices to characters though which was nice.
That’s understandable. Thankfully I haven’t really had any issues with my Switch 2 but I did have issues early adopting on some other consoles in the past so I totally get it.
DKL1 is definitely the most unique but DKL3 ended up being my favorite. I’m not sure if you’re a competitionist but if so I was also pleasantly surprised that when going for 100% in DKL3 there’s actually a few time attack times you need to beat at the end. I had thought they hadn’t added that type of stuff until DKC Returns so it surprised me to see it there. Thankfully it wasn’t nearly as daunting as returns. Overall, calling DKL3 a remix is a good way to look at it for sure.
@Tyranexx True, the final cases are always long. It also feels like there’s like 4 or so different cases/crimes at the heart of this one so that’s left so many moving pieces. I do always love final cases like this where it feels everything from prior cases really comes together.
That makes sense with both teams working on that game. Admittedly even if it were (somehow) canon, I feel like it wouldn’t really change much since the game almost entirely takes place in that other world so those characters wouldn’t just return in a normal AA game. I’ll really have to give Last Specter another shot. I had tried a little of it but it was at the time the 3DS just came out and I got distracted by new, shiny 3DS games. I’ll definitely give the movie a look too!
I’ll definitely have to take the dive with the other two FDC games. I agree from Emio that it doesn’t necessarily hit the same highs as AA and definitely felt less polished but it still had some great highs of its own.
I’ll definitely let you know! As a seperate note with another recommendation I played last year, Tangle Tower is another great mystery game on Switch with some AA type of humor. I really loved that game and it’s supposed to get a sequel but the sequel got delayed. The game has full voice acting too which is something I really loved and kinda wish we’d eventually get with AA too.
DKB is definitely my favorite Switch 2 game so far though Mario Kart World was nice too. I can totally understand not getting a Switch 2 just yet. Nintendo definitely seems to still be strongly supporting both Switch systems.
As far as DKL, when I played through the 3 I definitely did find the 2nd to be the weakest which was interesting since Country 2 is my favorite of the Country games. It mostly just comes down to, as you said, that DKL2 is basically just a weaker port of DKC2. DKL1 definitely tries the most unique things with all new worlds, bosses and level themes but the controls were a little wonky at points. DKL3 ended up actually being my favorite of the 3. It isn’t AS unique as DKL1 as it still uses all the level themes from DKC3 but it does totally redesign the levels themselves. It also reuses the boss designs but changes up the fights. The controls are much smoother than DKL1. I actually liked too how it felt it goes much more straight into the action compared to DKC3 which has a couple different things you have to go through before you can actually jump into a level.
@Tyranexx Yeah, it jumps right in but also then adds more questions before it really answers any lingering ones, haha. It feels like it will eventually answer questions though. I just got to the 2nd “To Be Continued” and it felt like so much happened but I noticed even when I saved when prompted it still mention I was at the “beginning” of the case so there must be so much more to come!
I’d have to look up with that with the crossover too. Both gameplay types were so well done though that I feel both sides must have at least worked on the gameplay for their characters. The only (semi) complaint I have is that I wish it crossed over more from both. The story mostly takes place in a neutral 3rd world so you don’t really seen many characters from either series outside of Phoenix and Maya from AA and Layton and Luke from Layton. Still an amazing game though. That’s good to know about Last Specter. I still feel I’d enjoy it overall and should get to it at some point. Also I didn’t realize about the movie, I may need to look into that too! Thanks for the heads up!
Unfortunately I think you’re right that they won’t get a discount. I have a big backlog currently but I think at some point I’ll have to just bite the bullet and get the double pack too at full price. It sounds like you’re saying all 3 were very solid so based on my massive enjoyment of Emio that sounds like a great endorsement! I could totally get the need for a guide there too. I believe I also looked at one once or twice with Emio.
I bought the first two Danganronpa games while they were on sale so I really should get to them at some point. I know they just announced a sort of remake of the second now too so I’m not sure how that all works now. I’ll let you know when I do get in playing those!
Sounds like similar timing. I was similarly fitting in a few small indies in between as well as DK Bananza. I keep going back to the Bananza DLC. I was pretty grumpy about the price of it and only got it because of how much I loved the main game but I must admit I’ve been getting a lot of play out of it. I actually loved the main game so much that after I beat that I replayed the 3 Country games on Switch Online and then also played the 3 Land games for the first time.
@Tyranexx I’m glad you agree about case 4! I could see how you could compare it to Case 5 from AA too.
With no spoilers, I will say Case 5 basically picks up right where Case 4 ended so it does seem like it will answer a lot of those lingering questions. I’ve been a bit crazy the last 2 days so I haven’t gotten to tackle too much more of it but what I have played has been really interesting. I’m really excited to play more.
I really hope the crossover gets ported too! I could see where that could be harder since it was a combined Capcom / Level 5 effort but at least both are still active companies so maybe it could work. It was a great game. Layton was a great series too for sure. I’m very excited for the new one coming up and I’ve played all of them but Katrielle and,
oddly enough, Last Specter. I’m not sure why/how I missed that one when I played the two that follow it chronologically and it’s felt weird to revisit when it was DS and everything after was 3DS.
I actually only just played Famicom Detective Club - Emio early this year and loved it! The UI seemed a bit messy especially compared to how much easier AA’s UI is to work with but I still really loved the characters and story. That UI and just like weird stuff like having to talk to someone multiple times or “look at them” after talking to them to proceed was awkward and really just my only complaint since stuff like that doesn’t really happen in AA. The post game animation was truly incredible too. I keep considering getting the other two since I’ve never played them and keep hoping for a sale but I’m starting to think the sale will never happen. Would you say you liked the other two more or less than Emio? Or were they just quite different and harder to compare?
Have you played the Danganronpa series at all? That’s another one I feel I hear compared to AA sometimes but I’ve yet to dig into it yet myself so I’m not sure how similar they really are.
Edit: I get what you mean with the break between games in a series to prevent burnout too. I actually played AAI1 back around July and then only went back for AAI2 this month. I’ve been slotting in some platformers in the meantime too (currently DK Bananza DLC and Pepper Grinder)
@Tyranexx Been a bit busy of a week for me too, I totally get it! I was in awe by that case though, I’m glad you see what I mean! It feels like so much happens and very quickly too.
I’ve been slowly working through Case 5 and am on part 2 of it. It feels like there’s so many moving pieces and I’m not really sure of any of what could have actually happened yet. Definitely curious to see where it goes but it’s already seeming like a great case!
This is actually the last AA game that I’ve never beat before which is feeling kind of bittersweet. It’s hard to even pick a favorite game or even case from everything I’ve played but every game has been strong, even Apollo, while weaker, was still a good game. It’s exactly like you said. The series sets such a high bar that Apollo falls a little short and yet that still doesn’t at all make it a bad game and there’s still some really great stuff in there.
The Layton crossover is really good too but it definitely is the hardest to come across and purchase nowadays. I was lucky to get it when it was new. It’s different but still very cool. It has a bit of a fantasy setting but still follows AA contradiction and logic rules. For one example, without any real spoilers, I remember at least one time where you’re using a spell book to point out a contradiction that a certain spell could not have been used in that case due to the restrictions of the spell itself. It’s definitely unique. The game also introduces a jury mechanic though that isn’t unique to it anymore as some later AA games ended up using that as well.
I might have to find some similar games to try out after I beat this as well. Nothing has fully ever hit the same feel as AA to me though.
I remember trying this out for a day or two when it first came out and honestly enjoying it decently enough but I’ve just never been that into the online shooter genre so I never really revisited it after that. Kinda a shame to see it have such a short life though.
@Tyranexx Ace Attorney is such a great series, I didn’t realize this was your first time playing through the series as a whole but you’re in for a treat!
I will say for after this that Apollo Justice is definitely the most divisive of the games. Some people outright hate it. I definitely don’t hate it but I do think it’s the weakest entry (granted in a series where every entry is good). The 3rd case in that game in particular can really drag but other than that there’s some very interesting cases. I also think the other two games in that collection that follow Apollo Justice are great.
I just started the 5th case of AA:I2 yesterday but I’m still super, super early. I’ve definitely curious where it’s going to go.
@Tyranexx I really loved too how it consistently swapped between time periods. It was very well done. It kept me guessing with a few things for sure. I think Apollo Justice probably had the only other case where it went back and forth in time in the same case but I feel perhaps this was done even better.
I’m near the very end of case 4 now and a bit confused how this is just case 4. It feels like it could be the concluding case in an AA game in its own right and I mean that in a good way.
@Tyranexx I was surprised to find in the poll that I wasn’t the only one playing Ace Attorney Investigations and then saw your comment!
I’m on the 4th case of AAI:2 and just finished the 3rd case recently too. I agree it truly was a great (though long) case. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the game has in store. And I agree, the first Investigations was great but I feel this one has been stepping things up. It’s crazy this never came out of Japan prior to this.
I get it’s probably because Nintendolife previously reported that this event was going to occur when we didn’t know what to expect from it, but it feels weird to have an article breaking down all 9 games revealed at the event when Acclaim has only announced that 1 of the 9 games will come to a Nintendo system.
I’m surprised Metroid Prime 4 isn’t on the poll considering we still don’t have a release date. I’m guessing (and hoping) we’ll get a release date tomorrow.
Beyond that, I’m open to be surprised by some new stuff.
@boxyguy Honestly I could see that. Rocket League does have a lot more personality than this.
Also I’ve been thinking about this as another take… they could have used ARMS characters for this.
This game basically also has the characters entirely just use their arms just like in ARMS so the designs would make sense for the most part and those characters are already developed so that would help keep costs down on the game which seems like it was important to them here.
I’ve been thinking the ARMS comparison a ton but the Splatoon comparison one is an interesting one.
Splatoon has become such a huge series for Nintendo but I feel a huge part of that is the “vibes” and character and world design. I just can’t see Splatoon getting as big as it has if the characters and world looked as plain as they do here.
I enjoyed the gameplay in the demo but I truly feel the character and world design is the biggest issue here and is doing the game a huge disservice.
As it is, I think this game will flop at the current ($20) price but I honestly think, hot take, that if this game had vibes on the level of Splatoon it could have been a hit even at $60 or so.
I enjoyed the Global Jam but otherwise am not planning to get the game. It seems well made but I knew even going into the demo that it’s not my type of thing. I never got into any real competitive sports style games in general, even stylized ones like Rocket League that I feel I can appreciate the work that went into it.
I never played the Pac-Man world games back in the day but was always curious about them. I picked him Re-Pac and found it good but not amazing but I always heard World 2 was better than 1 so I’m still curious to try this especially for the right price.
Admittedly as someone who isn’t super quick or accurate with mice, and isn’t really into competitive sports games (even stuff like Rocket League that I can totally looks cool) I can understand this isn’t really for me but I’m hoping it’ll find a market.
As for me, I’ll probably log into it one of the demo days to play two games and solidify to myself that it isn’t for me and that I’m awful at mouse controls.
This is good to hear now about Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection. I loved that game but it definitely had issues on Switch.
I’d been holding off buying Life is Strange: Dual Exposure because I was worried about similar issues and was wondering if a Switch 2 version might release but I recently bought the Switch 1 version on a big sale and am waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully this means Dual Exposure will also run better on Switch 2.
It’s interesting seeing the intro mention this as a “quiet week this week” because, while it certainly is for the Switch era, I still remember times with the Wii U where there would be a week with just like 2 releases.
I hadn’t realized this game came out a while ago on other systems and was super confused when I saw the headline mention its “1st Anniversary”. I initially thought they were celebrating a one month anniversary.
@SuperRetroArt People cannot afford to use a sick day from work every time they’re expecting a package delivery and it’s pretty crazy to expect them to.
On one hand, I’m a bit surprised the actual Switch 2 itself is right at the top of the box like that.
On the other hand, punching holes in a box of a brand new console you’re selling to your customers is some level of hate for your own consumers I’ve never seen before.

Close enough. Glad to see you, Mega Luxray!
Re: 3D Fighting Series 'Battle Arena Toshinden' Is Getting Revived For Modern Platforms
Edit: After a bit of googling of different PS1 3D fighters, it looks like what I was mixing this up with was “Tobal No. 1”.
Re: Anniversary: SNES Action RPG 'Terranigma' Is 30 Years Old Today, And It's Still A 10/10 In Our Book
This looks and sounds like something I would love. I was really trying to figure out why I’ve never played it before and only heard vaguely of it before until I got to the point where it’s never released in NA.
Hoping it comes soon to either Switch Online or even a collection or remake!
Re: Sonic Team's Boss Wants To Put More Sonic Characters In The Spotlight
Knuckles, Tails or Amy could be nice by I can scarily see Sega decide to do a year of Zavok.
Re: Feature: "We're Going To Need More Toilet Paper" - This Is Mario Kart-Attack!
@Banks it really can win over people!
Come to think of it, the most recent time I broke Mario Kart Live out was with a new cat we got who was a little skittish around people. As long as I went slow with the kart she was much more interested to go up close to the kart than with us so it was a nice way to sort of be able to play with her.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
I loved it.
Re: Feature: "We're Going To Need More Toilet Paper" - This Is Mario Kart-Attack!
Great article!
Mario Kart Live is always a ton of fun when I break it out though that isn’t super often unfortunately.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Community: 32 Switch Games We Missed, As Recommended By You
This is the first time in quite a while I haven’t submitted anything since I honestly couldn’t find something I played and loved that didn’t already have a review or already get featured in one of these articles!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Poll: Do You Think Nintendo's New Animated Short 'Close To You' Is Pikmin Related?
Honestly I still think they’re eventually going to reveal this is supposed to be Baby Rosalina and use this in marketing for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
The Pikmin music was of course intentional but I feel that was probably more of just an Easter egg in the same way there’s some Pikmin hidden in Super Nintendo World even though there’s nothing larger than that is Pikmin related in the park.
Re: Opinion: Ogre Battle 64: Person Of Lordly Caliber's Revolutionary Heart Still Burns Brightly
I often forget that N64 had RPGs other than Paper Mario (Yay!) and Quest 64 (Boo!) though I know there weren’t many of them. I know this is a little different being a Tactics RPG but still. I may have to finally get around to trying it some day.

Re: Community: Played A Great Switch Game We Missed? Send Us Your Hot Tips
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Reminder: You Have Just One More Week To Play Star Wars: Hunters
I remember trying this out for a day or two when it first came out and honestly enjoying it decently enough but I’ve just never been that into the online shooter genre so I never really revisited it after that. Kinda a shame to see it have such a short life though.
Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.3.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Oh wow, I might finally have to check back in on free roam again now with this update!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Nickelodeon Splat Pack Revives Multiple SNES Titles In One Retro Collection
Oh wow, I remember having that GUTS game back in the day. I enjoyed it. I can’t say I ever would have imagined to see it re-released in in modern day.
Re: Round Up: Every "Exciting New Game" From The Acclaim Showcase
@Liam_Doolan Thank you, I really appreciate the explanation of the mindset that goes into this!
I could see where it can be odd too when so many of the games are confirmed for “consoles” with no confirmation of which consoles that means.
Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Unveils A Newly Discovered Mega Evolution
This is definitely my favorite of the new megas they’ve shown. Though Hawlucha was nice too.
Re: Round Up: Every "Exciting New Game" From The Acclaim Showcase
I get it’s probably because Nintendolife previously reported that this event was going to occur when we didn’t know what to expect from it, but it feels weird to have an article breaking down all 9 games revealed at the event when Acclaim has only announced that 1 of the 9 games will come to a Nintendo system.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
@StewdaMegaManNerd oh! That totally was unintentional but I really love now that I did an unintentional pun. Thank you for pointing out what it was.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
@Dragnoran oh whoops. Well two days from now could be a great day to get a Metroid Prime 4 release date too, haha.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
@StewdaMegaManNerd I love puns but I didn’t actually intend one here. I feel silly because I still can’t find the pun.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
I’m surprised Metroid Prime 4 isn’t on the poll considering we still don’t have a release date. I’m guessing (and hoping) we’ll get a release date tomorrow.
Beyond that, I’m open to be surprised by some new stuff.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Drag x Drive
@boxyguy Honestly I could see that. Rocket League does have a lot more personality than this.
Also I’ve been thinking about this as another take… they could have used ARMS characters for this.
This game basically also has the characters entirely just use their arms just like in ARMS so the designs would make sense for the most part and those characters are already developed so that would help keep costs down on the game which seems like it was important to them here.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Drag x Drive
@boxyguy
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library Next Week
I’ve always been curious to play this but never got the chance so this will probably now be the first time I used the GameCube Switch App.
I mean, I love Wind Waker and will probably eventually revisit that too but with how much I’ve played that in the last I haven’t felt rushed.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
I enjoyed the Global Jam but otherwise am not planning to get the game. It seems well made but I knew even going into the demo that it’s not my type of thing. I never got into any real competitive sports style games in general, even stylized ones like Rocket League that I feel I can appreciate the work that went into it.
Re: Pac-Man World 2 Is Getting The Re-Pac Treatment
Glad to hear this is only $30, not bad.
I never played the Pac-Man world games back in the day but was always curious about them. I picked him Re-Pac and found it good but not amazing but I always heard World 2 was better than 1 so I’m still curious to try this especially for the right price.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Global Jam' Demo Event For Switch 2 Online Members
I’m really glad this is getting a demo.
Re: Feature: 33 Games With 'Secret' Performance Bumps You Should Revisit On Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd July (North America)
It’s interesting seeing the intro mention this as a “quiet week this week” because, while it certainly is for the Switch era, I still remember times with the Wii U where there would be a week with just like 2 releases.
Re: Switch 2's Welcome Tour Developer Has Been Revealed
I found it so odd this game had no credits at the end. It’s nice they’re crediting the team now.
Re: Gallery: Street Fighter's Luke amiibo Is A Big Fella, And No Mistake
I still remember when Amiibo used to be $12.99… they feel like they’ve been hit with price increases more than anything else gaming related.
Re: After Croc, Argonaut Games Wants To Remaster This N64 Cult Classic

Re: Random: Watch The Moment A Delivery Man Apparently Chucks A Switch 2 Up A Customer's Path
@SuperRetroArt People cannot afford to use a sick day from work every time they’re expecting a package delivery and it’s pretty crazy to expect them to.
Re: Random: One GameStop Apparently Stapled Receipts To Brand New Switch 2 Boxes, And Guess What Happened...
On one hand, I’m a bit surprised the actual Switch 2 itself is right at the top of the box like that.
On the other hand, punching holes in a box of a brand new console you’re selling to your customers is some level of hate for your own consumers I’ve never seen before.
