Re: The Best Cat Games On Nintendo Switch

KoiTenchi

This is a cute list / idea but I’m a little confused by calling this “the best cat games on Switch” when literally the second game on the list (Calico) got a 4/10 from NintendoLife. I’m not one to be a stickler for like 7/10 vs 8/10 but 4/10 is below average. Have there been a bunch of updates to it since then or anything? I’m admittedly not that familiar with the game.

I do know the first game on the list, Gato Roboto, is awesome though.

Whoa! I knew Dadish 3 was eventually going to be a thing but had no idea it was this soon. I just recently got the previous 2 on sale and completed them. Short basic games but just pure fun and laughs. I might wait for a sale but I’m definitely getting Dadish 3 at some point.

Re: Mario Strikers: Battle League Will Be Supported With Free Post-Launch Updates

KoiTenchi

This continuous free updates strategy has to backfire on them at some point if it hasn’t already.

I certainly know for Mario Golf after how they handled tennis I saw no reason to purchase at release as you can literally wait 6 months for a sale and buy a more finished game for cheaper at that point which is what I did. I can’t see any reason to purchase at release here either when there will be more content for less money in the future.

Re: Game-Breaking Bug Discovered In Switch Online Version Of Kirby 64

KoiTenchi

I actually 100% this on Switch yesterday. When I first read about the bug I was considering waiting but just really was in the mood to relive Kirby 64 and I still sits really enjoy it.

I do have to say the bug was a real pain though and I probably would recommend others to wait. When I first saw the video last week I assumed this was something that had a very small chance of happening when you get hit in the water. From playing the game I have to say that I highly underestimated it. I want to say I encounter the bug probably 50% of the times I got hit while in water which is awful. I probably had to reset levels about 6-8 times because of it. Glad they’re fixing it but with how common it occurs I’m confused how they didn’t find this before pushing the game out.

Re: Feature: What's Your Biggest Nintendo Launch Day Regret?

KoiTenchi

Oof, Ollie’s remarks regarding the 3DS just pulled up my own memories about the 3DS that I guess I must have buried. At this point I LOVE my 3DS and it’s been a great system with a great line up but that launch was rough. I had Pilotwings and Shadow Wars and both were fun enough but neither particularly “wow”d me. A little after I remember loving getting to have OOT on the go and it looked GORGEOUS but at the end of the day it was still a game I had already played dozens of times before. I don’t remember honestly being super impressed with anything until Mario 3D Land and Kid Icarus launched (I’m forgetting which came first) but both were MONTHS after release.

Re: PS1-Inspired 'Boreal Tenebrae' Is Coming To Switch This Week

KoiTenchi

@Matty1988 yeah, I couldn’t find a good way to phrase it without it sounding like bashing (and I like to give new developers a chance) but giving off a YIIK vibe is not a good quality in my book.

Edit: Didn’t even previously know about the NFT connection until I saw it in the comments here so that’s two strikes against the game now.

Re: Talking Point: Should We Still Be Pre-Ordering Games?

KoiTenchi

I feel like I used to preorder a lot more than I do now. Nowadays a lot of times I just wait for sales post release. The only times I preorder now is when I’m 99% sure I’ll not only love the game but make the time to play it the same week it releases regardless of what else I’m playing because I’m so excited.

On that note, I preordered Kirby and am super excited. I think the last game I preordered before this was Arceus and I was happy with that preorder.

Re: E3 2022 In Doubt As Journalist Claims Digital Event Is "Probably" Also Cancelled

KoiTenchi

Years ago I would have been really sad to hear this but with the way things are now the more I think about I’m not sure how much this changes.

Any game company that wants to put out a digital presentation in the summer is going to do it whether or not there’s a formal E3 to attach it to, Nintendo included. There’s also the separate show for Indies around the same time. It just doesn’t feel like cancelling digital E3 changes much when the companies don’t need E3 to present digitally themselves.
