The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild turned four years old last week, but that doesn't mean fans of the game are anywhere near done with finding new secrets.
A newly discovered glitch named 'Collision Overload' has been discovered, allowing players to walk underwater pretty much wherever they like as well as avoid all enemy attacks. It works by causing Link's collision detection to go haywire, meaning that Guardians, Lynels and the like simply can't touch you with their attacks; on the flip side, you can't damage them, either.
Sadly, pulling off the glitch isn't straightforward. As explained by Gaming Reinvented in the video below, you'll need several multishot bows and Shock Arrows to get started, and then you'll need to follow the steps shown very carefully. There are weapon desync tricks to perform, and you'll need to go ahead and throw these weapons into some water hundreds of times before the glitch comes into full effect. We told you it was complicated...
Once you've done it, though, you'll be able to pose for cool social media posts like this one. Lynels are nothing, right?
We've stumbled across plenty more glitches like this one over the past few months, so be sure to check those out if you're wanting more. In the meantime, let us know if you've ever tried to pull off something like this in the game with a comment below.

I love seeing new glitches, but i KNOW i'll never have the time to sit down and learn them.
The battle glitches would be useful, but the deciation to learning them... eh.
can't wait to see what crazy glitches we see in BOTW 2!
Guardians hate this trick! You only need to... <<read full version>>
its ocarina of time all over again(walking in water)
curious, have anyone here ever tried a glitch in this game?
amazing . Interesting
I'm being to think that anything can be done in BotW.
I hope BOTW 2 allows you to swim underwater and explore the depths of the sea. That would be cool.
Only exploit I've really taken the time to learn is the one where you rocket off of bokoblin heads while shield surfing in bullet time. Feels great soaring across the map in seconds
@nhSnork I think you need it to say “Liberal Guardians DESTROYED by LOGIC and GLITCHES” or something equally as annoying hahahahahaha
NINJA APPROVED
But wouldn't this make it impossible to finish some shrines and such? Also, invincibility is a bit too much if a handicap. I like the cool combat glitches that make the game flashy but they were all discovered after I thoroughly finished the game so never learned them.
Not being able to go underwater seemed like an oversight in Botw. I mean, this mechanic was in Ocarina of time almost 2 decades previous.
It reminds me of the day/night mechanic first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver which was then, for some inexplicable reason, dropped for the next mainline entry.
"on the flip side, you can't damage them, either."
I don't comprehend what's the point of it then.
Invincible and can walk underwater? Has he turned into metal mario? XD
It's cool so many glitches exist, only that if there's a battle to the death, it's just without the death. Two immortals fighting forever and ever and ever... Even Ganon's stubbornness and constant returns is not a patch on this lmao
@nhSnork
It never gets old, of course I love the song, so that helps.
Stupid YouTube ads ruin links now. 😑
