I want all of the Switch games, sans Lego World and Just Dance. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Mario Odyssey are on my, "I need them today," list. Yeah, not literally "need," but I want them very badly.
Although we knew about most of the games launching for Switch this year, that doesn't mean this presentation was lacking. Frankly, they showed what they need to, and convinced me of what I believed all along, that Switch is replacing 3DS and Wii U. I've been vocal about wanting Nintendo to consolidate catalogs for handheld and console, and I took the Pokemon for Switch announcement as an admission that Switch is the go-to Nintendo device. For me, that means Switch is the ultimate Nintendo machine, and I love it.
For anyone with realistic expectations about what Nintendo would bring, this was an excellent conference. Who legitimately assumed they would announce Metroid Prime 4 or Pokemon for Switch this year? I would have assumed they would save those for next year.
This announcement made me very glad to be a Switch owner. Also, I feel like today reinforced the idea that Switch is the unified platform I've wanted for a few years now.
Mario+Rabbids was really cool. Honestly, I was thinking it would be released later than August and it wouldn't look so good. My body is ready for the crossover.
@ningeek185 If Nintendo consoles EVER get a Battlefield game, I'd be shocked, and buy them there day one. However, since I still own a console that plays Battlefield 2, I'll get the game there.
Anyway, I will probably get FIFA 18 on Switch because I like soccer games, they're second to basketball video games for me. Plus, being able to play on the go and on my TV is a good enough sell for me.
I'm very okay with this since I'm one of the many people who didn't buy this game the first time around. Switch will have two fighters by the end of this year, even if one's a port, that's better than the Wii U at the same point in its life.
Honestly, I don't mind the fee and don't expect much. Yeah, I'm part of the "problem," but if enough people buy into it, then the market's spoken and the service will remain in place. Whether some people here like that or not, that's how capitalism works. You're more than free not to buy into the paid online service, as I'm entitled to buy into it.
@BinaryFragger Nintendo's service is (rightly) receiving flak here. Still, it's better than what people thought it would be, even if it's admittedly not even as good as PS+ or (now) Games with Gold.
I don't expect Bayonetta 3 for Switch to be a thing, but I won't complain at all if it happens. That said, they seem keen on the console, even if they aren't developing software for the device.
We'll probably know by E3 if there is an exclusivity deal with Sony or Nintendo. Same goes for MH, which "everyone" wants on PS4 (and by "everyone," I mean Sony fanboys that troll here and other sites). Time will tell what happens.
I've seen Switch one time on a display case at a local Best Buy, there were about 10 of them. A few days later, I went to the same BB, and saw no Switches. For the most part, I've not seen any Switches at the major retailers near me. Then again, I don't really look hard because I own one and won't get a second one for a little while. As for hard numbers, I'm going to refrain from making any predictions because I don't know what unannounced games are coming to Switch by this time next year.
For what it's worth, most of the people I know are interested in Switch. My wife immediately thought it was cool after the initial reveal trailer, but she was disappointed that Splatoon 2 wasn't a launch title. Again, not going to make any specific predictions, but as of now, it really is the console people love to love, and it can sell fairly well.
"Perhaps Nintendo wishes to include Dragon Quest XI in part of its E3 presentation, and is keeping it out of sight for maximum impact."
For some reason, this is the conclusion I reached. Not that I will be right, but it would be cool to see the Switch version at E3 with a solid release date. I'd love to get DQ XI on Switch this year, localized for NA. I need that in my life.
Well, frankly I hope this is a sign of more games that have been portable for their recent entries making their way back to consoles via Switch.
@BinaryFragger It's almost like people react differently to different situations! Jokes aside, I get that people responded hastily and are eating their words, but this is still good news.
That's awesome, he's considerably better at Rhythm Heaven than I am. My rhythm is horrible, but I find the games hilarious and would love a Switch entry in the series.
I know it sounds strange, but I just hope we get an original Smash for Switch. Also, as great as MK 8 DX is, I'd love for a new original Mario Kart for Switch in the next few years. Yes, Nintendo can still make money on Wii U software ports for Switch, but original entries will be awesome.
@rjejr While the timing could be better, I think the markets are just different enough and both will be evergreen enough to be sustainable and still fun in ARMS' case. Of course, I don't have a crystal ball, so Idk either.
Lucky Europeans. I have my Switch, but if I didn't, this would be the bundle to get! Don't tempt me into getting a second Switch already by announcing this for NA, Nintendo...
@Rumncoke25 Great minds think alike. Single player looked cooler than I expected, and the hoops mini game does look pretty insane (in a good way). Either way, I'm still very cautious about this, even if it looks considerably better than in the initial reveal.
I would be lying if I said I was sold on this game. However, it's looking considerably better than when they first showed it off, and that counts for something.
Hopefully this game controls well because it looks like there is a good amount of content. With the free stuff coming after launch, now I'm very tempted to pick this game up .
It makes sense Nintendo is trying to capitalize on this market. Esports has been on the rise, and it is predicted to continue growing. With the on-the-couch approach of the Switch, people can practice together anywhere. Nintendo is fairly smart to target eSports fanatics.
I'm pretty interested in seeing what they'll do this year. Hopefully it's better than E3 2013, which was just bad. Frankly, I'm not expecting that much in the way of surprises, but I'm good with seeing more of the games we know about launching in 2017 and probably a little more on some of the 2018 content.
Also @Ichiban, "I hope to see the return of some more diverse titles like Waverace, Pilotwings, Eternal Darkness etc. It would be great to see them return & balance out the Switch library a bit."
Keep hoping, it ain't happening. Those franchises aren't very profitable. I'd love a new Wave Race, but we all know it's not happening anytime soon if at all.
XCX and Pokken Tournament. We need an original Smash (AND MK, even with 8 DX) and Odyssey will be enough Mario unless Switch ends up more like Wii and we get two of them. Also, I want the Switch original Zelda in a few years, which is pretty much me dreaming at this point because we all know it'll take forever and a day to release.

Re: Review: ARMS (Switch)
I'm liking it so far. My wife surprised me by allowing me to get it today for Father's Day!
Re: Capcom Reportedly Has No Plans to Bring Monster Hunter XX for Switch to the West
I wouldn't be surprised if Monster Hunter is going to be multiplat from now on. Yes, that includes Nintendo platforms.
Re: Fret Not, Pikmin 4 is Still "Progressing"
I'm just glad Hey! Pikmin isn't "Pikmin 4." It will be awesome playing a full Pikmin on my TV, then on the go.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?
For anyone with realistic expectations about what Nintendo would bring, this was an excellent conference. Who legitimately assumed they would announce Metroid Prime 4 or Pokemon for Switch this year? I would have assumed they would save those for next year.
Re: Metroid Prime 4 Confirmed For Nintendo Switch, But Retro Studios Isn't Involved
This announcement made me very glad to be a Switch owner. Also, I feel like today reinforced the idea that Switch is the unified platform I've wanted for a few years now.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey to Launch on 27th October
I didn't expect an October release date, that's really close to my birthday!
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Ubisoft's Nintendo Switch Reveals at E3 2017?
Mario+Rabbids was really cool. Honestly, I was thinking it would be released later than August and it wouldn't look so good. My body is ready for the crossover.
Re: Beyond Good & Evil 2 is Revealed, But Unconfirmed for Nintendo Switch
I really doubt this will be on Switch, period. However, it would be hilarious if it were.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Unveiled by Ubisoft at E3 2017
I'm sold. This game actually looks creative.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Listing Pops Up on Walmart Ahead of E3 Press Conference
Hopefully this means Pikmin World and DQ XI on Switch (in NA) are real. I doubt it, but I'd be so happy if both of those leaks turn out to be true.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Unveiled by Ubisoft at E3 2017
@Kevember That's pretty much my guess, but I could be wrong.
Re: Minecraft's Cross-Platform Update Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This August
Unrelated, but Reggie reconfirmed what we already knew, Nintendo would have a few game announcements during its Tree house presentation.
Re: Minecraft's Cross-Platform Update Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This August
If I read that correctly, the world sizes will increase on Switch. That makes it seem worth upgrading to the Switch edition now, tbh.
Re: FIFA 18 on Switch to Include Ultimate Team, EA Boasts of Most 'Advanced' Portable Version

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Online Service Promises a New Approach to Retro Gaming
@MagicEmperor Thanks very much. I'll reiterate that I feel the pricing is reasonable.
And lol, that was my intent with using him as my avatar. He cracks me up, I can't wait for season 9 of Curb!

Re: Nintendo Reveals More Details About its Paid Online Service
Yeah, I was already going to do it, but for $20 I'm sold. I'll gladly support this effort.
Re: Eye-Catching RPG Indivisible is Heading to Nintendo Switch in 2018
This looks pretty good. I like the pseudo South Asian theme, that's not touched in a lot of games today.
Re: Sonic Mania Release Date and Pricing Confirmed With Awesome Trailer
I'll get this for Switch, I can't wait to play it!
Re: E3 is Coming, Which Means Anonymous Super Smash Bros. Switch 'Screenshots'
I'm on team fake. At least, I hope it's fake, unless this is an appetizer for the main course.
Re: PlatinumGames Is Keen To Make Bayonetta 3, Possibly With A New Protagonist
I don't expect Bayonetta 3 for Switch to be a thing, but I won't complain at all if it happens. That said, they seem keen on the console, even if they aren't developing software for the device.

Re: Capcom Continues to Explore and Plan Nintendo Switch Support
@Jessica286 I came here to say that. Even if it's a port, it'll still move some units (and convince me to get back into the series).
Re: Pikmin Rewards Arrive on My Nintendo in North America
Not great, but I grabbed the Prima guide. I'll finally beat Pikmin 3 soon.
Re: Rumour: Artwork for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Posted Online
Frankly, if this turns out to be true, I would give it a shot. It looks bizarre enough to work.

That's awesome, he's considerably better at Rhythm Heaven than I am. My rhythm is horrible, but I find the games hilarious and would love a Switch entry in the series.
Re: Poll: Who Would You Like To See In Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch?
@MoonKnight7 If the ports serve as stop gaps and do not replace new entries, I'm fine with them. Them being replacements is where I would take issue.

This was the best news of the Direct, tbh. Between it and Splatoon 2, I'm sure there will be plenty of content by the end of the year for both games.
