Re: Corecell Releases First Screenshots of Revamped AeternoBlade 2

IronMan28

@ThomasBW84 @xPH03N1Xx86 For sure, it had an excellent run. I was probably asking the wrong way, but it's surprising NL hasn't posted an article about it! Regardless, FE on Switch will be amazing. I'm very glad it's going to be on a console again since I didn't get around to playing the series until Awakening.

Re: Rumour: Super Mario/Rabbids Crossover Still in Works for Nintendo Switch

IronMan28

@rjejr Notice how they're not using the term "launch window" with Switch? If they are, they're smarter with its use because that isn't an emphasis and I haven't noticed it. Also, notice how even though they're ports, Nintendo seems a lot smarter this time with the earlier releases? The many people who didn't own a Wii U are experiencing MK 8 for the first time on their Switch. BotW is pretty much a no-brainer since the game launched on both systems at the same time and, again, many people don't own a Wii U to play the game. Sales say that most people bought the game on Switch, as much as some salty Wii U owners who haven't upgraded yet don't want to believe, it's where people are playing the game. Again, yes, they're ports, but Nintendo is doing the early Switch lineup smart. Obviously they can't keep it going forever, but it's still cool that they have arguably started strong from the software standpoint.

One thing's for sure, my early experience with Switch is better than Wii U and the Wii in the same time frame. Most would say that's not a lot, but for me it really is pretty impressive. I loved both consoles in their own regards, and Switch is beating them both if for no other reason than steady early releases and form factor. Anyway, nothing precludes this game from being a quality title, and it'll be interesting to see if this is real.

Re: Talking Point: As Nintendo Switch Looks to Rapidly Overtake Wii U Sales, 3DS Lives On

IronMan28

We get it, NL, you love 3DS. No, Nintendo isn't predicting Switch to have 3DS-like sales in its first year, but they're not comparable. Much like @rjejr said, it's its own category and doesn't directly compare to handhelds or home consoles and never will. Kimishima's comments make me think the 3DS won't have a successor, and there probably won't be a handheld device from Nintendo after it. The sooner the Switch replaces 3DS, the better.

Re: Review: Puyo Puyo Tetris (Switch)

IronMan28

I loved the demo, and I don't care that MK 8 DX is coming out this week. Looks like I'm getting both, playing the demo of this in handheld mode was great, although I'm sure I'll have to rest my eyes every now and then by playing on my TV.

Re: Video: Nintendo Switch User Interface Shown Off In Leaked Footage

IronMan28

@00Wyvern I honestly can't speak much for PS4 since the last time I saw it was in 2015. It's still very cool, though. The UI is fast and there are some good effects, but I can't give you an apples to apples comparison. And since you don't want to watch it for fear of spoiling the experience before launch, I'll leave it at that. Hope that helps.

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

IronMan28

@PlywoodStick I'll grant you that CD Projekt Red is quite good. Frankly, I didn't believe people that all of the DLC was free and I just got the GOTY edition (still have yet to play it, school and family life don't permit me a lot of game time) so good on them for that. Regardless, Nintendo's offerings are pretty good for the most part. Of course, their bad offerings escape me at the moment.

Re: Interview: Greg Wohlwend on TumbleSeed and What Makes Nintendo Switch Special

IronMan28

@feelinsupersonic " i assumed it means he really liked the game. maybe i need to look harder at it, since you're suggesting some sort of conspiracy. thanks for the heads-up."

LOL, where do I begin?

First, I'm not suggesting a conspiracy. I'd like to know how you took that from my post. It's like I told you to go to the lake and you drove to the oceanfront. Second, GOTY is a meaningless award since many outlets and individuals have it. My comment was more a jab at people who take that designation too seriously, like some of the trolls here who have joked this game is "GOTY!!!" even though it does look very good.

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

IronMan28

@00Wyvern Um...EXACTLY. This game still looks great, and the DLC doesn't seem like it's content that was taken away. Perhaps I'm one of the few that kind of wanted DLC for Zelda (I really did) so that's why I'm okay with it? Either way, BoTW still looks great and I'll probably end up getting the DLC. I feel sorry for everyone else who can't seem to be positive about more Zelda without having to wait for a year or two to play new content and not have to purchase a new game.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Wants an 'Evolved 2D Style' From His Legend of Zelda Handheld Dev Team

IronMan28

@Spoony_Tech Doubtful since Kimishima specifically said they were not but they are "thinking about it" (I'm paraphrasing). Plus, Aonuma's comments suggest a 2D Zelda for Switch from the 3DS team is possible. With other evidence, it really does seem like Switch IS replacing 3DS.

Edit: And when Switch was still "NX" Nintendo would typically mention 3DS and Wii U. Just saying, it seems probable they will replace 3DS with Switch.

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

IronMan28

Was anyone saying this game seemed like it was "short" or "incomplete" before this announcement? I never got that sense whenever outlets would cover it. Everyone saying this looked like Witcher 3 and Skyrim are probably the same people who purchased DLC for those games (I own both of them, btw) and complained when this was announced. The game already has substantial content and more will be great. Personally, I'm glad this game is getting post-launch content. I have zero problems with DLC from most companies, and I still like this idea.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Expansion Pass DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

IronMan28

Other than the additional hard mode, I see no problems with this. Hopefully the dungeon is substantial enough to warrant the extra cash. If not, I just won't buy it since the game seems complete enough for me. I'm mostly okay with DLC from Nintendo and a lot of other companies since I don't really pay attention to the bad offerings from most companies. With this, I might have something to look forward to in the winter.

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

IronMan28

@JaxonH While I can afford both, I was more referencing the price since it's discussed in the article and gamers are usually very price sensitive. Either way, having one device that fulfills the demands of two is great to me. Why wouldn't someone want integrated handheld and home consoles from Nintendo? At least there will be fewer gaps and the 3DS-type games from Japanese developers will make their way to the Switch. Plus, every Nintendo franchise will be in HD. Heck, even third-parties would have to consider developing at least a few exclusives a year for the system since it's a hybrid.

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

IronMan28

@mateq @JaxonH Both of you summed up my thoughts exactly. Why would I not want to pay $300 for a device that replaces two that cost a combined $500 and has all (or most) of the same franchises? It's a dream come true. No more buying two devices and saying you wish a certain game came to the one you own instead of the one you don't.

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

IronMan28

I personally want them to stick with Switch in its current form. Yes, 3DS is a good device, but it's getting close to the end of its lifespan. Switch as the sole device can help Nintendo's software teams focus on only one system and will lead to more output. I see no problem with that.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off the Joy-Con Controllers Through the Ultimate Medium - An Infographic

IronMan28

It's funny that some people don't seem to understand the concept of an infographic and act like their "analysis" of them is worthwhile. Infographics provide product information to people who don't know about a good or service. TBH, like the many "X game not coming to Switch" (which you never post about 3DS, btw), this is probably not relevant to us. Luckily, I'm saving most of my clicks for other sites that don't post as much troll bait and for non-troll bait articles.

No, this article isn't troll bait, but it's attracted its share of users that post things which are completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. And no, it's not all good news for Nintendo (to think so about anything is ridiculous), but to rationalize posting a game is not coming to one system when you don't do it for the other by saying you're giving all Nintendo-related news doesn't mean you're right for posting something negative for the sake of complaining.

Re: Nintendo Hopes the Switch Can Be A Bridge Between Home Console and Portable

IronMan28

I've said it since it was announced. Switch looks like a device that will receive upgrades in the future, and given the market, that's not a crazy prospect. Personally, I welcome that since I will likely buy more than one. One will be for the TV, the other will be for my daughter, and the third will be for my son when he's old enough. Switch is perfect for those of us who don't want to buy two Nintendo devices but want to play all of their games (there are many people that complained "x game" was not coming to 3DS or Wii U when the latter was still relevant).

Re: Talking Point: Is the Nintendo Switch a Handheld or Console? Does it Matter?

IronMan28

By the looks of the library, it's both a handheld and a home console. Since it's a crossover, there will be the strengths and weaknesses of both devices. Of course, it is also what the market decides it is, and it's up to Nintendo to try and position it the way it wants. While Zelda is definitely console-style, games like XC 2 blur the lines, and Project Octopath Traveler screams "handheld." It is literally everything at this point.
