@rjejr Let's be honest, retro games sell well on Switch. It wouldn't shock me if Sega ends up putting out Saturn and DC games on Switch.

I'll be honest, I didn't think this looked good when I perused the eShop for games. However, this review has convinced me to give it a second look.

@KingdomHeartsFan I played a demo of the first one when it was new but never got around to buying the game. Hopefully this port comes west, I'd love to play the whole game and on the go.

@FragRed I'm not saying that's true, but I wouldn't put it past Sony. Businesses aren't each other's friends.

@WiltonRoots he was wrong about Switch failing on arrival, so I guess changing the message was the only way to keep talking without sounding like a complete idiot.

@sleepinglion we already have the 3DS successor, it's called the Switch.

Makes sense since 3 isn't coming to Switch. Never played these when they were new, but they seem to make more sense on Xbox to me.

If it's a Sonic Racing game, it'll almost certainly come to Switch.

Hear that? That's the sound of another nail in 3DS' coffin. It's done really well, but Switch will take off in a big way once it gets more of the "Nintendo handheld" type games that it's starting to get now. Can't wait for Switch to start getting the support 3DS got in its prime, which was excellent.

I've been holding off for the Switch version. Hell, I've even skipped out on other Xbox One games hoping for a Switch port because of DOOM and Wolfenstein 2. This will be pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good!

Stardew Valley while I get my car serviced and Splatoon 2 when I get home later.

Skipped this on Xbox One because I want to play it on Switch. Can't wait to get this and kill some Nazi scum on the go!

Anyone who honestly believes this isn't coming to Switch is pretty naive.

@AlexSora89 easily, Switch is getting games we would never think would come to Wii U.

As a backer, I really hope this game turns out well. The VA's are good, though.

@westman98 Wii also wasn't portable and succeeding for two devices. Since it looks that way for Switch, overall sales could be higher than Wii's.

Switch sales are stellar without Pokemon. Imagine when it gets an original Pokemon, the Japanese sales will be incredible.

At least I know the Switch version is coming west. I can wait.

@eltomo I love Fez, but detest Phil Fish. It's almost better, imo, that Fez never comes to Switch so Phil can't make more money from the game.

Never played an Ys game before, this looks good.

@OorWullie Jokes about his name aside, Doug Bowser was going to help me with a marketing project (via a phone interview) when I was getting my MBA. We ended up not being able to, but his willingness to help was cool. He seems like a pretty good guy!

Slime-San should be on that list, but Celeste and Golf Story's inclusions make me smile. They're both good, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good!

@rjejr it hasn't been released yet. I'm pretty sure it's a timed "console exclusive" for Switch, so I feel like we would have heard more about it on NL if there was new info on it. Either way, it looks pretty good.

@thesilverbrick lol, I appreciate the sentiment. It takes a lot of practice and it helps that I partially have my dad's temperament, where even Buddha took notes from him.

Edit: You do seem like a mostly relaxed person, so don't be too hard on yourself. Also, I love your avatar, Tina Fey is great. Like Larry David, she worked for SNL and is still hilarious.

I will wait for reviews. I feel skeptical about it, but hope I'm wrong.

@rjejr the shooter you're referring to is Morphies Law, which I agree is a very stupid name. It does look like it could be fun in short bursts.

Something on the new SK expansion. Maybe a few surprises. Also, I don't see how having Indies equates to a drought, content is content is content. Probably most of, or none, of the games they show have previously been on a portable HD system with buttons, so there is a reason to pick them up even if they're "just ports." But hey, you do you and complain no matter what. I'll sit here and enjoy my games on the Switch.

Still getting the Switch version, I never got around to playing this when it was new. As for its sequels, I will probably end up playing 2 on Switch, then 3 on X1X. I say X1X because by the time I get around to it, I'll have a reason to buy an X1X and DS3.

I know I should temper my expectations, but the first 2 were so good I don't think I can. The hype is real!

@rjejr the Octoling gear is pretty good, depending on the sub-abilities you end up with. Since mine work for my play style, I like the Octogear.

@BanjoPickles I doubt "the slowdown" will last too long because next month a major new game is coming (Labo, which looks like it could be a hit) and June is after that with Mario Tennis. Plus, Switch is replacing 3DS and getting exactly what I would expect the 3DS successor to get at this point in its life: ports of console games that didn't sell quite as well as it could have (meaning make a ton of money) on the original non-portable hardware, combined with new games. Frankly, I see nothing wrong with how Nintendo is handling the Switch atm. Either way, when Switch really hits its stride by the end of this year, this conversation will seem like a very distant memory.

@rjejr I'm with you for the most part. Although, I think it'll be more "new" than people give Nintendo credit for because the gap between the last 3 Smash games was longer since 2 (Wii U/3DS) launched within a few months of each other. That probably took the teams a while to put together, and contributed to the longer development cycle. I could be wrong, but I think this is more ground up than people expect.

@rjejr I never freaked out on her (or in general), it just got tiresome to keep going from the first level to where we were. My wife and I got pretty far and ended up having to start over for a fourth time. After that, we lost the will to play, lol. Long story short, we're just going to let her outgrow that, which we think is going to be fairly soon since she's turning four tomorrow.

@rjejr well, that's acceptable, I may end up double dipping since the old Wii U is retired. Plus, my daughter loved TT on Wii U.

@YummyHappyPills not necessarily, Kirby is fairly casual, I could see the next entry (or entries) coming to mobile in lieu of Switch. Nintendo can make easy money on mobile, so that's what makes me somewhat cynical. And I often make wat I believe are negative predictions in hopes of being wrong. Here's hoping I'm wrong and we get a superb entry on Switch within 2 years.

I believe the 3DS had more than one main Kirby game. Wouldn't surprise me to see Switch get more. Hopefully they do innovate and make the games more difficult in the future, and the series stays on Switch. I have nothing against mobile, but I like buttons...

I think I'll have a similar take on this game as Chris Carter from Destructoid. Which means I will like it a lot. Too bad it'll be a little while before I buy it since my daughter kept deleting my Rainbow curse save file to see the opening cutscene and I figure the same thing will happen with Star Allies.

@rjejr Captain Toad was $39.99 at launch in the US. Which means if the Switch port costs any more (like DKCTF), it's a ripoff.

I love Splatoon 2, so I preodered these. Can't get enough of this game!

@rjejr My kids are slightly too young for Labo, although my daughter might appreciate it more than my son. He's turning 1 tomorrow (Mar10 day, ironically) so he's not really going to get much out of it other than perhaps as a snack. Although, I'm sure he'd get a kick out of seeing it work, and my daughter would go bonkers if we could actually get to the point where it's functional.

Great Direct that makes me feel good about skipping Fractured but Whole and Okami HD on my Xbox One. I'll pay full price on Switch just to support third parties on there.
