Re: Soapbox: Don't Listen To The Pokémon: Let’s Go Haters - The Game Has Definitely Found Its Audience

HollowGrapeJ

I never hated this game. Though, I did have my doubts. I'm not complaining, but I mean, I guess I can understand how some would feel about it. The mainline Pokemon games are still easy and simple. And they follow the same formula for the most part game, after game, after game. And, I still find enjoyment out of it.

It reminds me of the Dynasty Warriors games. I love them even though people are quick to call it just rehash and the complaints for DW9 were understandable when they strayed too far from the formula that worked for fans.

I'm obviously looking forward to generation 8 more than this. But, I won't completely write these games off. I'm not a very competitive player and I casually play the main games for the most part. (With the exception of some EV training)

I hope this new audience gets onboard with the next generation. Pokémon Switch is gonna be amazing, I'm sure.

Re: Review: Warriors Orochi 4 - A Boisterous But Samey Sequel That Won't Win Over Naysayers

HollowGrapeJ

@Balta666 Well, if you're playing it like that, then yeah. The enemies can be laughable. They are pretty much just there to throw around without any real problem.

Even so, I still enjoyed knocking them around like that. Hard mode really keeps you on your feet and makes it more than just mindlessly button mashing, but if you don't enjoy playing the game on normal modes either, it's probably safe to say these games aren't really for you.

Re: Review: Warriors Orochi 4 - A Boisterous But Samey Sequel That Won't Win Over Naysayers

@Balta666 If you play Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate on hard or chaos, you have to make sure not to get shot by too many archers which will end you if you're just slashing away at enemies.

Also, you need to pay attention to what kind of weapons you're using along with attributes that might help or else you're probably going to struggle. Some enemy officers literally one shot you if you slip up.

Hyrule Warriors is another one. The Adventure Mode maps all usually have a specific requirement. Although, they have set difficulty, some of them can be downright ridiculous. Like, "don't get hit" for example.

I get that these games just look like basic hack & slash on the surface, but anyone who's invested time into them along with the different modes can tell you there's usually more to it than that.

Re: Sonic Double Pack For Nintendo Switch Listed On Amazon Italy

HollowGrapeJ

@Dalarrun While I see what you're getting at, I feel like the way speed works for Sonic in games like 3&K and Mania are the best example of how it should be.

I suppose the games do have a big learning curve if you're not used to it. But, they reward you greatly with speed when you avoid enemies and obstacles.

That can't be said about every level, but that's usually the case for most.

@BigKing City Escape is iconic... Still one of the best.

Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition

HollowGrapeJ

@dleec8 But this still confuses me. I want to know the real reasoning behind this. Reggie said if we want Netflix or whatever on the Switch, we have to take it up with them.

But, why? Netflix and other streaming services are on basically every device ever. I doubt they wouldn't want to put it on the Switch as well. Nintendo must be telling them they can't do it or something. I don't know.

Re: Feature: Why Pokémon: Let's Go Is The Perfect Entry Point For Pokémon GO Players

HollowGrapeJ

@Mew Because this isn't replacing the core game releasing next year. I really wouldn't like if this was the only thing we got, but they've confirmed the Pokémon most of us do want is already in the works.

Once I got that confirmation, I was alright. But some others still hold a grudge against this game. Like, who cares? Let the Let's GO players do their thing while we get ours next.

@NIN10DOXD Like I said, this fanbase is divided. I guarantee you the core game is not going to satisfy some of the same people complaining about this. Whether it's the new Pokémon designs, the region, the story, Mega Stones, etc.

Re: Feature: What Do You Want From A New Nintendo Switch?

HollowGrapeJ

What I want from a new Switch would be:

-A better display (the one on the current Switch is very reflective in sunlight, bleh)

-More internal storage

-Bigger and more efficient battery

-More power (of course)

Even if all they do is bump it up to docked speed in portable mode with a more efficient cooling solution so it can handle it, then even that would be a considerable upgrade.

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Switch SKU Planned For Late 2019

HollowGrapeJ

@Mgene15 Admittedly, this year has been slower than last, but I don't see it as that bad. The Switch has mostly been carried throughout this year with third party ports and some of them quite excellent too. DBFZ just released for example.

Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition is one of the games that's taken up a ton of my time. I still want Bayonetta and Octopath Traveler. As well as the Kirby game from the start of the year. (Though I think that's priced bit too high for my liking)

I'm curious as to what games you want as well as what games you play on your Switch. I don't even have all of what I want from last year. I need to catch up...

Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Switch SKU Planned For Late 2019

HollowGrapeJ

People really need to stop being salty about upgrades. Get used to it, seriously. We already got it with the other consoles and it's a good option for people who have the money. It doesn't even affect you.

Man, this is like people who say PC gaming is bad because new graphics cards always release. You can literally just not buy it and move on.

Re: Random: Switch Hack-And-Slash Game Warriors Orochi 4 Just Won A Guinness World Record

HollowGrapeJ

@Heavyarms55 Warriors Orochi 3 is really great. I put down Hyrule Warriors for like a week just to play that game. I wish I could see my play time on PS4 cause I'm pretty sure it's huge by now. Seeing as this has just about every character including new with new features to gameplay, I'm about to waste my whole life again once I get this...

@Yosher While it's true you'll probably enjoy it more if you know some of the characters, I wouldn't worry about that too much. With apparently 170, you're bound to find someone you like. That was the case for me when I jumped into the second game in this. (Warriors Orochi 2)

I love some of these characters so much that I want to go play the games they are from like Dynasty Warriors 8 and Samurai Warriors 4.
