A few days ago, a Nintendo spokesperson said the company had nothing to say about drawings and “other things” uploaded to the internet. This was a response to a question about social media superstar, Bowsette. That wasn’t enough to stop one fan from starting a petition to make the fan-made character a legitimate thing – asking for her inclusion as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The latest news related to the subject of Bowsette this time comes from an official Nintendo source. Twitter user Sakusuru has tweeted an interesting photo of a Super Mario Odyssey art book that has just been released in Japan. Inside, is allegedly a scrapped concept of Bowser who has taken over Peach’s body with his own version of Cappy. As can been seen in the image, she’s basically the official Nintendo version of Bowsette, created long before the fan-made one.

In case you haven't heard about Bowsette, the character became a superstar on social media over the past week when an illustrator located in Malaysia tweeted a comic featuring the Peach and Bowser mashup inspired by an item set to appear in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
What do you think about this discovery? Are you a Bowsette fan? Are you still hopeful Nintendo officially recogonises her in the future? Tell us in the comments below.

Pop culture works in mysterious ways.
DLC for Odyssey, Bowser cappy
If this book was published days earlier I doubt Bowsette would have been a thing
Hey NL, y'all need to let this go and let it fade out naturally.
It's a conspiracy!
I definitely prefer the fan art.
Fans: "Look, we've created Bowsette, a new Charakter! Isn't she really cool?"
Nintendo: "Hold ma beer"
According to this comic, the fusion is called "Koopa Peach" or "Bowser Peach".
My favorite image in that artbook is of Guitarist Rosalina. For some reason, I feel like it fits her character really well, and I'll bet she probably plays some really soothing music.

@BensonUii Well, we have two types of "Bowsette" now.
The abandoned concept of Bowser having his own cappy to posse Peach.
And the fan concept of the Princess power up which is an actual item, though officially exclusive to Toadette (For now...).
Because hey, if Mario can have many types of power ups over the years so can Bowser. XD
This Bowsette is very cute!
@NINC0MPUTER
"Everyone likes horny women."
No, i like Handsome Muscular guys.
Now this design is much more imaginative.
Just sad at this point.
For a moment I thought that was Luigi's hat and then I imagined what a Bowigi would have looked like. I think I prefer this though 🤣
Edit: Also this looks waaaayyy better than Bowsette...
Yeah as I said before in another article, "Bowsette" is hardly an original creation, and hentai/fetish artists were doing this sort of thing long before Nintendo themselves were.
It really is a thing. It has been a thing for years. Can we please stop this now?
I'm pretty sure the fan creation would be more popular then this one could ever hope to be.
Some days ago,my favorite VRChat avatar creator made a Bowsette version that looks almost exacly like this official one.

Meanwhile, I’m charmed by Rosalina playing a guitar.
This is a possessed Peach a la the Cappy mechanic from Odyssey...not a separate character like the otaku types want.
Let it die, people. lol
@Anti-Matter XD everyone's tastes
@Iacobus And Bowsette from the Otaku-Fanbase is just Bowser with the supercrown/Peachette Power-Up, so what's your point? It's still a Bowser-Peach Fusion, the only difference being that Bowsette and Peach could exist in the same room.
@ottospooky Or it would have been worse. Also: This book is gonna sell WAY more copies now.
@Angelic_Lapras_King There's actually way more versions out there. Long before Bowsette was a thing, there was "Peach Bowser" Fan-Art, Doujinshis and Cosplay (which is very similiar to Bowsette's design, thte only difference is it's still has Peach's personality, not Bowser) and also a lot of "Lady Bowser" Fanart, which is a female Bowser, either in beast or human form.
Now I wonder if they are thinking about a Super Mario Odyssey 2 that - like Super Mario Galaxy 2 - uses unused concepts.
If they wanted to cash in on the Bowsette craze, they could use "Bowsette" as either a final villain, or - to use her in trailers and not to spoil anything - make her the main antagonist.
Going with old Super Mario Lore, Bowser captured Peach because of her magic capabilities. Maybe after she denied the marriage and thus couldn't be brought to assist him willingly, he know usses a new cap-ally to merge their powers in a different way he didn't think of before Mario kicked his ass.
The Koopa-Kap has to go though. It doesn't really make sense for Bowser to use a plumber's cap. A spiked cylinder or a crown would be more fitting.
What do you think would be better music for such a boss fight?

The Legend Of Bowsette: The Cringe Continues Part Two - Director's Cut DX (NTSC)
So, the Odyssey standard of possession really came first than the Super Crown transformation for Bowsette, huh? Shouldve seen this coming, perhaps. Thats more tolerable of a concept in this manner. Im sure theres fan art of that idea already, like if Sanji from One Piece had the opportunity to possess. Perhaps, in the Odyssey sequel, we will see that happen, like how Ganondorf had to possess Zelda in TP.
It's still not Bowsette though is it? Bowsette would be a female Bowser not a Bowser/Peach mash-up. Announce Powser.
I like the official one better. Secondly, peachette was a fusion of peach and toadette. All these other names don't make sense like boosette. Shouldn't these other ones be called something else because toadette is not involved in any way. Such as mentioned earlier, Powser, or Boowser.
Eh, I prefer the design of the fan version.
@Handsomistic15 They have to have something to clickbait.
Ha! What the heck! Amazing! Everybody's thinking the same thing, it seems!
Fan art is better
This Bowsette is so much better than the boobtastic fan art
I prefer this Bowsette design, but there's a more monstrous one doing the rounds that is closer to my idea of a female Bowser.
Nintendo's version is way better. Sick of seeing these degenerates sexualize Bowsette as much as possible.
@NINC0MPUTER virtual thumbs up That got a genuine chuckle out of me
I don't get the obsession with this unofficial character.
@Xaessya
Yeah, well the people drawing the fan art need a girlfriend/boyfriend, because their "art" screams virginity.
This is good news for Peachowser fans (No, I’m not calling it “Peachette” as it’s a stupid name) as Nintendo could use this design without fear of some fan suing them for stealing their idea.
I prefer this design as it actually uses quite a few features from Bowser, instead of just Peach with horns and black dress.
@Anti-Matter We get it, you are gay. Good for you!
Cool art, and it's right into the family friendly territory Nintendo loves so much.
Maybe they can use this concept in a future Mario release or if they ever decide do make DLC packs for Odyssey.
So where's this one's fanart
Wow!
@Baker1000 I mean “Bowsette” sorta IS a Peach/Bowser mashup, similar to how Peachette is a Peach/Toadette mashup. The Super Crown powerup is what made Toadette into Peachette so clearly it makes the user into some Peach hybrid...
The difference is with the Super Crown, the real Peach still exists separately. This method is literally just Bowser in Peach’s body.
@AlexSora89 perfect usage of that gif.
oh. well. um. okay. not a good time to reveal that
@Randomname19 Looks more like a 3D version of Peach possessed by the Shadow Queen, just with a dark skin tone and red hair. Still, looks pretty great.
I prefer this design to Bowsette. It's a lot more menacing, and almost a bit creepy with how Bowser's features look on Peach, like he's corrupted her-which makes sense given the possession. Bowsette's basically Peach in the cheapest Bowser cosplay she could find-couldn't even match his colors, she got lazy and grabbed a black dress. Admittedly, the sites I go to haven't been bombarded by Nintendo version for the past few days, so I'm kind of biased.
Also, if we do assume the Super Crown works like everyone else seems to (you know, with a strict set of rules like the rest of the Mario canon has, I guess) Bowser turning into peach would have a green and beige dress, but probably still just be Peach. You can argue about Toadette's hair matching Peach's, and while the former's anatomy is sketchy, the latter's hair is... hair, with could just be done up like that automatically... ugh, I'm thinking about this too hard...
I wish we would get more fanart of guitar Rosalina from the artbook, but I guess that's asking for too much.
I like both versions!
The fan art and the "almost official".
The only thing that bothers me about all this Bowsette stuff, is that it shouldn't even be called Bowsette! If it follows the structure of Peachette, then it should be called Peachowser. And even if they did it backwards it would be Bowseach. The -ette comes from Toadette when she becomes powered up to look and behave like Peach as Peachette. Toadette has nothing to do with this whole Bowsette concept.
@0rwellianson
I was looking for another NC reaction gif, but upon stumbling into that one I couldn't resist.
@ShadJV following that pattern then, wouldn't Bowsette be a combination of Bowser and Toadette? A power up that makes Toadette into Bowser. Like how Cackletta possesses Bowser to become Bowletta. Bowser becoming Peach, or Peach becoming Bowser should be a combination of those two names.
@duffmmann Exactly!
@Baker1000 I don’t disagree that the naming convention isn’t followed, though the Royal Crown adds the Peach elements, not the Toadette elements (as seen in the webcomic that started this all). So the image should still be Peach and Bowser combined (otherwise the powerup wouldn’t make sense), it just would be more accurately named Peachser... but I suppose that doesn’t sound as nice.
@ShadJV it's nerds coming up with a sexy name, that's what it is.
@Chrono_Meridian off topic, but looking at your avy i really wish they would do a rerelease of Lunar 1, and 2 really love both games.
Wow this still going on?
When you take a break from online sites to get away from Bowsette and stuff like this until it blows over, and come back slap down in the middle of it.
Well at least if this does decide to become official in the future, Nintendo could say we had the idea first and here's proof.
@illmatic20xx I'd like that too.
@duffmmann
I initially thought this, too.
However, I then remembered that the “ette” suffix is used when you're referring to the female version of something such as bachelorette (bachelor) and brunette (brunet). Since this is a female version of Bowser, it sort of makes sense to call her Bowsette. Although, who knows if that's what the creator had in mind?
@Bensei
Only difference is Peach and Bowsette could exist in the same room? That's a huge thing, one of the biggest appeals of Bowsette is Peach x Bowsette, that can't happen with possession.
Doesn't the timing of the art book concept seem a little too odd now. Seems to be a after thought in response to the fan art. So how come no one before has seen this concept art book til now?
@SwitchForce I’m pretty sure it takes longer than two or three days to design a page in a book, print thousands of copies of that book with that page thought last minute, and distribute it all over Japan.
@AlexSora89 Excellent reference. What review, specifically?
@Komi028 True, it couldn't happen in a main-line Mario game. But still... we had Games where you could play as Peach, Baby Peach, Pink Gold Peach AND Cat-Peach on the same track. Some of these characters featured in other games too (like Mario Sports Superstars).
So it wouldn't be an issue for "spin-offs".
@ShadJV
"This method is literally just Bowser in Peach’s body."
Er, want to rephrase that?
@Mrtoad just on the face of it - it's convenient that it comes out after all the fan raves.
@MarioFan02
The Good Son review. Doug Walker had a sore throat then for unrelated reasons, but wrote it in the script as the Critic having yelled so hard at the movie he ended up that way.
@SuperiorTech What do you mean Who knows what the creator had in mind? The comic that started it all has Bowser taking the same crown Toadette takes to become Peachette to become this "Bowsette" form. And the comic only popped up after Peachette was revealed, it is very obvious where people are drawing the term Bowsette from, and they've simply failed to utilize the naming structure properly for what they were doing.
@Franklin nope, because that’s factual no matter how you choose to interpret it.
Doesn't make Bowsette any less dumb!
