Re: The Switch Version Of Dragon Quest XI Has A Special Name

@Cobalt The portable aspect of the Switch is literally it's main selling point. How is it that hard to understand? As for actually playing it in public, let me put it this way.

When I used to have a 3DS, I mostly played that at home. Yeah, I did take it with me, but usually when I'm out, I only get on it if it's taking too long to get to my destination. And to preserve battery life. Didn't really come across many people actually playing, but got plenty of streetpasses, so obviously other people were taking it out and about as well.

Same goes for my Switch. I play it at home for the most part, but it's convenient to never be tied to the TV. I have taken it with me before on trips in the car. I've paced around the house going in different rooms playing. If I choose so, I could take it anywhere I want to because I can.

@Crono1973 It sounds like you're missing the point then. When a game comes to the console, it has the advantage of portability for everything you play. This makes even older games appealing and not to mention, it breathes new life into them as well.

As for playing on the TV, it just gets the job done. It can't compete in the graphics or performance department, but it does what it needs to and gives you a bigger screen to enjoy the games. It's that simple.

Re: Nintendo Spends Big On Television Advertising In Month Of August To Fend Off Spider-Man

I wouldn't exactly say it was for the purpose of fending off Spider-Man. There's really no big Nintendo exclusive that comes to mind releasing this month. Imo, it doesn't pick up until Fighterz late September and then Dark Souls in October. Which are also not exclusives, but great regardless.

The next hitter from Nintendo is Mario Party and I don't think that's turning anyone away from Spider-Man, lmao.

Re: ESRB Ratings Reveal That Ubisoft Is Bringing Three Party Games To Nintendo Switch

HollowGrapeJ

@EightBitMan The Wii U did start out with better third party support imo. And, it was actually supported by a number of apps still not available on Switch.

Other than that though, I think it's pretty bad. Especially with first party where it stands no chance compared to Switch.

I agree that this is ultimately the result of Nintendo not really catering to third parties. Ubisoft really tried last generation and it didn't work. So they gave up on it and I don't blame them.
