Ubisoft and Nintendo have arguably never had a better relationship and it's all thanks to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Earlier this year, it was revealed the game had become the highest selling third-party title on the Switch - placing the French-based publisher in the overall lead in terms of third-party sales on the platform. More recently, Ubisoft's full-year sales and earnings figures for the 2017-18 period showed seven percent of its sales were attributed to the Mario and Rabbid crossover - with more than two million copies sold. If that wasn't enough, Starlink: Battle for Atlas on Switch looks to be the most anticipated version of the game - all because of a cameo from the Star Fox crew.
Ubisoft is obviously happy with the current arrangement, as it's now sending out surveys to its email subscribers asking about their favourite characters in the Mario universe. As shown by a user on Twitter (see below), on one page there is Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina and Peach, and on the other is Daisy, the Koopalings, Bowser Jr., Birdo, Kamek and Bowser. As Ubisoft has not explained why it is asking this question, there's now speculation it is linked to a potential sequel for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle or it's for an entirely new crossover game set in the Mario universe.
It would not be a surprise if Ubisoft wanted to continue with Nintendo crossovers. Not long ago, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about a potential sequel to Mario + Rabbids and replied with the following comment:
"I can't say...
[Laughs] I can't give you an answer yet."
What do you make of this survey? Would you like to see more Ubisoft and Nintendo video game crossovers? Are you hoping to see a sequel to Mario + Rabbids? Tell us in the comments.

BIRDO
Daisy-hime.
Waluigi for Rabbids 2.....
The poor soul that has to deal with the spamming of Bowsette votes....
Yeh, I won't answer any question asked in french...
Waluigi.
I enjoyed that game more than any adult person with a demanding job should. (Because I played a lot of it in the office)
@MattFox I don't speak surrender either.
Waluigi and Birdo need more love.
Waluigi and Ice Climbers.
I really liked Mario + Rabids. But the Rabids weren't a positive aspect of the game. lol The game game was awesome despite them, not thanks to them.
I'd love a sequel! Maybe make the overworld stuff a little more interesting this time around, though. While the different levels looked great visually, one gets tired of pushing blocks around for collectables. (Ubisoft games tend to have the most repetitive side content in the industry though).
Just give us more variety to the side stuff and we're golden.
Waluigi and Bowsette
I completed the survey and it was loooong
A little bit off topic, but I’ll be genuinely shocked if Ubisoft representation isn’t in Smash Ultimate. I don’t think it’ll be a fighter, maybe just a trophy or Assist Trophy.
@MH4 inb4 Rabbid Peach trophy
Can’t wait for Ubisoft to finally release Waluigi’s Taco Stand
Wario+Rabbids Blingdom Battle.
Sequel will be nice, but different genres for another Mario + Rabbid games is better.
Examples: Mario + Rabbids Party , Mario-Rabbidlands , Mario + Rabbids Sports Deluxe , Mario + Rabbids de Rhythm, etc.
I want Davide Soliani to have a hand at the Zelda franchise!
"Hyrule Rabbids". Toon Link. That is all.
I mean it should go without saying that there's going to be a sequel. Ubisoft won't have a hit on their hands without beating it to death.
@MH4
Rayman hopefully!
@ilikeike
As long as they don't fill them with "optional" microtransactions like their other crap, they can make as many of these games as they want xD
@MH4 It's weird how much and little at the same time we actually know about Smash Ultimate. For example collectable trophies haven't appeared at all yet.
I get the feeling that ''one character in particular'' is going to get a lot of votes as a joke, not because they actually like him or want to see him in a new game by Ubisoft.
@Dalarrun I think we can all agree to that!
I’d love to see them do Nintendo x Rabbids. Do it like a sort of faux Smash but in the same genre as Kingdom Battle. Have Kirby, Pikachu, Toon Link and Tetra, along with Rabbid Samus, Rabbid Captain Falcon and Rabid Shulk. Just do weird stuff where the Rabbids end up dumping even more Nintendo junk into the Mushroom Kingdom! I’m not sure how much the overworked affected development time but I’d be happy even with less of it (I did enjoy it.) would be fun if you just controlled Mario and were able to jump around and what not.
@Elvie ....Lord Voldemort??
I'd love a Mario + Rabbids sequel, especially if they had a 'battles only' mode - I found the walking from battle to battle tedious, most of the puzzles repetitive, and the Rabbids rather unfunny.
But the core part of the game-play I loved, and would jump back in to play some of the levels again if I didn't have to wander to find them.
It was a shame the DLC was too easy as well, with your characters far too powerful
Members of the Skulls and Bones community are already playing Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The mainstream world is too slow to catchup.
Samus/Metroid + Rabbids. That is all.
link rabbid hyrule kingdom battle.
The relationship between Nintendo and Ubisoft would appear to be at an all time high right now. I'm intrigued at how Starlink will turn out and I'm happy to see more games are in the pipeline. The Switch is gonna have some lonnnnnnnnnng legs.
Having a Sequel of this Game would be awesome, also Rabbid Mario, and Donkey Kong were my favorite Characters in this Game.
@ReaderRagfish Anyone who doesn't love that little lava guy loses respect from me 🤧🤧🤧
Would love a sequel.
@Anti-Matter Not at all. Mario + Rabbids is a different type of game. Finally a turnbased shooter in the Nintendo Universe. Don't have to milk that game with dumb spinoffs while we could aswell have a nice sequel, which it deserves.
Bowsette please Ubi. Thanks!
Waluigi definitely.
Would be nice to have random generated battles/maps, something like pokemon has with the battle tree. Will add a lot to the replayability.
I got the survey request. It offered to compensation for doing the survey, so I didn't start it.
Both Mario and Assassin's Creed had a game with Odyssey as subtitle.
COINCIDENCE?!
Mario's Creed confirmed!
What about Koopa Troopa?
@Anti-Matter all of those genres are overplayed though. We already have Mario games of the first three genres you mentioned (adding Rabbids is just superficial) and while we haven’t had a Mario rhythm game since DDR Mario Mix (as far as I remember), there isn’t much reason we would need Rabbids for that. Granted, we didn’t need Rabbids for a Mario strategy game but it got us past the awkward “why are the Mario characters using guns” question by creating other, more distracting questions. If we must have more Rabbid crossovers, may as well stick with a sequel to this since it came out alright and, for any other suggested genre, adding Rabbids would be pointless...
People here have a point... if anyone would be willing to make Bowsette a reality, it would be Ubisoft. It would hardly be the weirdest thing to come out of this crossover. I’d say good luck to them getting Nintendo to agree to it but... a few years ago I would’ve sworn they’d never agree to letting Mario use a gun, Ubisoft clearly has Nintendo under their charisma.
Being the younger sibling often ment being player 2, so Luigi will always be my favorite Nintendo character.
@Pirlo_ze_sniper I feel you. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d0/33/c3/d033c3d99df1863a072e44ee6c43687b.jpg
Seeing Rosalina on this list just made me realise how crazy and creative a Galaxy section of this game could be. Plus I'd love to hear a Grant Kirkhope rendition of Rosalina's Observatory.
Please a sequel
Rosalina is called Harmonie in French! That's really cool... never knew that!
Oh and I definitely would love for Ubisoft to make a Mario+Rabbids 2. Keep on expanding this world
"How many hours have you played MRKB?"
"The value must be less than or equal to 90."
LOL! Couch Coop alone took me more then 150 hours!
So much potential... I hope that they go well outside of the Mushroom Kingdom though. Go the Mario Kart or even better go the Smash Bros route.
I’d love Ninty to hand over the keys to some dormant IPs. Let Ubisoft run riot!!
It would be amazing if Rabbid Waluigi was in Mario + Rabbids , but the real Waluigi wasn't.
Rabbids are Mario characters now? These are dark times.
Going for broke here but... Wario and Waluigi + Rabbids. Wario and Waluigi may not have mass market appeal, but ohh the hilarity that could ensue...
Gimme Rabbid Funky Kong
Wario is number one.
Waluigi plz.
Bowsette.
