I had £149.77 in store credit and reward points combined, and I've just made what I imagine will now be my last ever GAME purchase after hearing this news. Shame really as I was holding on to all of it to go towards the next Switch, whenever that ends up releasing.
I did just buy though (I don't even know their full proper titles as I haven't paid the most attention to them so bare with me)......
Paper Mario (new remake one) Princess Peach Adventure Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope Sonic Frontiers Sonic Superstars
Oh well GAME/Electronics Boutique/Gamestation..........we had a good three plus decade run 😞
I agree (not that any of it means anything to me personally TBH as I'm a technophobe), but even so, old hardware/new hardware; it's still printing money for them and coming out with some A* classic games 🤷♂️ Might as well milk it
I know I'm in the complete minority here, but with the Switch's sales numbers and momentum, I'm all for them not bothering to release a new one until at least 2026 or later (basically whenever they need to).
There seems to be enough steam to keep it going for the rest of this year, 2024, and then maybe things start to slow down a little in 2025, which would be a perfect time to announce the new console and then release it around March 2026, same time as the original Switch.
Then once announced they can worry about further price cuts, bundles etc for the original Switch and decide on its future and its support. Keep the money train running for as long as possible
I still have and love every VF game for the Saturn and Dreamcast; but I remember seeing VF for the Mega Drive everywhere I went back in the day. Brand new, second hand, full price and then tons of price reductions for it, and soooooo many copies, and I could never understand why. I mean, it was VF. What's not to like?! Then I read a few reviews, eventually played my cousin's copy, and yeah, the penny dropped as to why everyone was either avoiding the Mega Drive version, or buying it and selling it lol. Gotta respect the fact that Sega at least tried though.
Haven't done Salmon Run yet, but in terms of online, am I in the minority that preferred numbers 1 and 2 more?! I liked the maps better, and, would I be wrong in thinking that when your team won a game in the first 2 games, you got bonus points added to your score just for being a winner? Still love number 3, but I also don't find it as colourful as the first 2 either. Could just be me though. Thoughts?!
One thing I don't understand (I haven't read too much into either TBF); is if I upgrade the membership, then I get the Mario Kart extra stuff at no extra cost. Do I then need to keep renewing the upgraded membership to ensure I keep all the new MK DLC? Whereas if I just buy the MK DLC on its own, is it mine to then keep forever more? TIA
I'm still going to get the physical Switch version, but not until it's been updated, patched, smoothed out, ironed out etc etc, and maybe even re-reviewed and becomes an enjoyable experience. I genuinely think it'll get there in the end. Might just take a while.
6, soon to be 7 when I get Ring Fit Adventure. Never been interested in Pokémon, EVER, and wouldn't get Mario Party as I intend on getting the new one on Saturday.
Hoping mine will arrive from GAME tomorrow. They took my £133.12 that I had in Reward Points immediately, I got all the usual confirmation emails etc, but it's Thursday today and they still haven't taken the balance yet like I would have expected, nor sent me any email to say they're packing it or it's on its way etc etc. Getting a tad concerned now.

I caved and pre-ordered one from GAME as I had just under £200 in store credit and just paid the balance. Gonna keep one Switch upstairs and one downstairs, as I haven't got the heart to sell my launch day Switch lol
I've got £185 in store credit at GAME, and think I may cash it in and upgrade; the urge for the gorgeous screen and sexy white dock and joycon is real.
Had a Switch since launch, and (much like any Nintendo console), it always has been and always will be my go to console.
Got an Xbox Series X last Christmas and though it doesn't get as much play as it should, as like many on here, I have a wife and 2 children with a 3rd on the way in December, I think it's a great piece of kit. One thing I wish every console now had as well as off screen play like the Wii U or Switch, is Quick Resume as OMG that is an incredible feature.
I got a PS5 yesterday from VERY to be delivered at the end of the month. I was thinking about getting a PS4 so I could play a few exclusives that I never played, but TBH, they were nearly £300 for a standard, 500GB console with a cheap game, so I figured I might as well just pay a bit more and get a PS5. Got the console, and PS5 versions of Ghost Of Tsushima Directors Cut and Sackboy for £540. Thing is, the other games that caught my eye in the first place are PS4 games, so I'm not expecting the PS5 to be used as a PS5 until it starts getting games that I want that aren't available on the PS4.
I held off buying it when it came out as it was a digital code in a box only, and I remember stating sooooooo many times how I had such a strong feeling it would get a proper physical release in the future because of how well it was received and its sales. Guys in my local GAME, and people on this very site refused to believe it too.....but well, I win 🤣 lol
I never played this on the Wii as in 31 years gaming, Zelda games were never really for me as I enjoyed other games too much.
Since WindWaker HD on Wii U though I've fallen in love with the games (though still nowhere near as much as other people do, not even close), and I am RUBBISH at the games, taking hours to do what others no doubt do in minutes, but I still really enjoy them now.
I'm LOVING Skyward Sword HD using button control. Beautiful game.
I love my Wii, but not sure I would have enjoyed this type of game on the Wii as the motion control only probably would have put me off and annoyed me.
As far as playing on Switch goes, I'm 6 hours in and love it. Highly recommended, especially if you're like me and it's technically a brand new game and experience.
Number 2 was one of the very, VERY few games that I loved for my PS1 (PS1 couldn't touch the Saturn or N64 for me), so I will no doubt be picking this one up
Never liked HALO back in the day whatsoever........until I got the Master Chief Collection for my original Xbox One and found a new love and appreciation for them. That collection, along with Sunset Overdrive are probably my favourite Xbox One games that I played.
I would be all over it, but seeing as it's digital only I'll have to pass, or just hope that it gets a physical release soon. Though seeing as I've been looking forward to this, and am getting an Xbox Series X for Christmas, I might just buy it for that as it's only £15 brand new in GAME at the moment.
I'm intrigued about this as I may ask my wife for it for Christmas, but would like to know if anyone can confirm for me; if I'm playing in free roam mode, and not using the cardboard gates or whatever, and I just fancy a speed round my lounge with the car and not actually race............does all the games AI like the Koopalings, plants, shells etc still show up on the screen, or will it just be stuff that's on my lounge floor that the camera is filming? Thank you in advance to anyone whom can answer
Got number 3 on Switch back in June this year, and I love it; however, I am absolutely God AWFUL at it To the point where if I can't get past the bit I'm stuck on (which is only like level 2 or 3 of the campaign), that I'll be trading it in soon
@YANDMAN Is that all? Had a feeling they had released something, but was hoping that it might get a normal, mainstream physical release. Oh wells. Thanks anyway.
Enough politics going on in the UK today as it is, so to get off topic and get back to the sales part of this post; well done Nintendo, if nothing else that's another fifty thousand units out there for people to enjoy, and to keep adding to your sales figures.

All dependant on time that I will highly unlikely have, but
PS5-Ghost Of Tsushima
XSX-GTA V or Forza Horizon 4
Switch-Skyward Sword or Origami King
The chances of being able to play any of these are slim to nothing, so it'll probably end up just being a mindless half hour of Mario Kart 8 😂
