My absolute favourite Switch game so far. Absolutely fantastic game. 10 out of 10. TBH I'd say that as of right now, it's my favourite game of the year on any console; certainly the most addictive. Seems like the sort of thing WORMS and Pikmin would produce if they were cousins and had a a drunken, unprotected early night Worth every single penny.
Not a BAD deal as such, as if you were going to get the game digital anyway, then the price all balances out; especially if you like the red Joy-Cons too, and, according to GAME's website, it DOES come with the carry case too.
Admittedly I would never buy it myself as I simply don't do digital (and I already have a Switch), but that's just me.
Fair enough (I guess, in a way), though to proclaim you do not have time to read my post is nearly laughable, as you have just stated that you posted a story to numerous sites this morning, and are usually amongst the first 5 posters in every article posted on this site, not to mention the chat forums; so clearly you DO have the time, quite a lot too it would seem.
Either way, I've asked you what I wanted to now. I didn't get any answers, but hey, whatever. Carry on.
Right, I literally NEVER get involved in debates online about anything full stop, but after all this time I seriously do have to ask you a few things, and I'm not even asking rudely, I am genuinely interested......
Do you genuinely enjoy being the antagonist all the time? Is there some form of pleasure you derive from it? Why are you so negative literally all the time, about literally everything? Do you enjoy putting the dampners on pretty much everything? You love your Wii U, as do I, but are you jealous of those whom own a Switch as well?
This is a chat forum, and peoples opinions will always differ, and there will always be debate, but there is a certain way you can get your point and your opinion across without being called a troll at least 10 times on every topic you comment on.
For example, I have noticed that you continually call the Switch a hand held, which you know full well riles people up, as although YOU may see it as that, there lots of others that see it as a home console, and others that see it for a pure hybrid etc, but you imply that everything you state is fact, not opinion.
Learning how to differentiate and express yourself between the two will seriously help you out a hell of a lot.
You're a gamer, the same as everyone else on this site, plain and simple. In that respect we're on the same side.
Not usually my sort of game, but seeing as it had Nintendo polish on it, I got it, as I knew there would be a chance that I may enjoy it.
About 8-10 hours in and still on World 1 Level 7 (not sure if that is good or bad), I absolutely LOVE the game!!!! Worth every single penny and highly recommended.
To me, it's what Worms and Pikmin would produce if they were cousins and had a drunken, early night
I'd rather not of course, but if it is a game I am interested in, then I have no issue in paying more due to the portability factor.
Same was said for the Wii U and it's off screen play factor (which is how I play my Switch, either docked, or off screen at home so to speak, as it's never left my house and I don't see that changing any time soon). On those rare third party games that we got I was happy to more if needed just purely because I could play it off screen. Same applies here.
I would LOVE for a reason to buy this again as I absolutely LOVE the Wii U version, and it's not even expensive at £26.99 from GAME, but seeing as it doesn't have any extra levels etc, and is apparently not very different from the Wii U version, I'm going to do my very best to NOT double dip on this (in the nicest way possible).
To anyone who hasn't played it on any console then like so many people on here, I highly recommend it.
Such a wonderful game. So easy to pick up and play, whether it's a long session or just a 10 minute game. Bit like Mario Kart and Splatoon lol
Not that I will play it for God knows how long due to Mario and Rabbids consuming all the little gaming time that I have, I've got The Binding Of Isaac arriving tomorrow from GAME. Was only £30.00 and though it doesn't look all that, I have heard NOTHING but good things about it. Looking forward to seeing what it's all about now I guess
I finally popped the game in last night, and, after about 3 hours in total, I have come to realise that I may lose a lot of my life to this game lol. It just reminds me of Worms lol. Truly a great exclusive for the Switch.
So it's like the Expansion Pak for the N64 so you could play Donkey Kong 64 and Perfect Dark (the only two games I can think of off the top of my head that actually required them).
Meh, no biggie to me until there's a game I want that will need one (I'm looking at you WWE 2K18 lol), and even then, you cannot compare the £65 price of an Expansion Pak back in the mid 90's to a cheap Micro SD card that can be found for a few quid.
I was in the minority back in May that a) thought the game looked like it was going to be a genuine release and wasn't just a photo shopped piece of art, and b) thought that it looked brilliant and wasn't appalled in any way by the look of what the game would eventually turn out to be. Thought it looked awesome from the get go.
I really wanted to pre-order it, but because of Splatoon 2 taking up the very little gaming time I had, I decided not to bother, because as awesome as it looks, it also looks like the sort of game I can wait a few extra weeks for before biting (weeks only mind, not months lol).
And even though turn based strategy games are not always really my thing (I loved Sticker Star on 3DS if that counts?), I'm a sucker for pretty much anything Mario or with a lick of the Nintendo magic and will be picking it up some time in September, as although I was hoping for something more like a Super Mario 3D World back in May when we saw the artwork, I am still more than happy to give what looks to be an incredibly addictive game a chance. I'm sure I will be a happy customer by mid September
I'm still happy with Fifa 13 for my football fix, but may get this when it comes down in price over Christmas just to support the third parties if nothing else. It's sounding like a pretty fine version of the game.
Really must go back to this game again for a while. Been hooked on Splatoon 2 since launch and can't bring myself to not have a few online games of it when I get the time to play lol. Before I know it, I've spent all my gaming time on Splatoon and don't have time for ARMS lol.
Absolutely love it. I really think that Splatoon, and possibly ARMS (though it is still too soon to tell I realise) will become one of those IP franchises that will always have an incredible following amongst casual and hardcore Nintendo gamers; not quite as big or as universal as Mario Kart or Pokemon, but more along the lines of something like Super Smash Bros. I don't think they will milk the franchise with a new version every year or two, but I can see them releasing them one game per console making it very special
Went along to GAME to pick mine up on Friday, and was lucky enough to get a couple of hours to myself on Saturday to pop it in and play it. Loving it.
As much as I hated not being able to play off screen on the original, I can't help but miss just pushing exactly where I want to go on the tablet screen after respawning rather than pushing buttons on the Switch lol. Swings and roundabouts I guess lol.
This!!! This!!! This!!! We NEED Day Of Reckoning 3!!! I know wrestling games peaked with No Mercy, but I think people so often overlook and/or forget just how damn good the Day Of Reckoning series were, and how close they were in terms of game play to No Mercy. If this series was on the PS2 instead back in the day I think it'd be a whole different story. Even WrestleMania X-8 and XIX were incredible, but they lacked the depth of the Day Of Reckoning series.
I don't generally go by review scores, I go by what I like. However, I was about to pre-order this from GAME for £19.99, and thought I'd Google it first. Part of me is annoyed that I did, part of me is pleased that I did; as this game has got pretty much universal hatred from everyone who played and reviewed it, and it's not often that happens and a game is rated as low as this as well. I'll have to see now. Still maintain it looks a little interesting to me.
If Flip Wars ever comes to retail I will get it (don't do digital), as it looks like the sort of simple game that I can lose hours on, like Tetris or Chu Chu Rocket.
Whether you love Nintendo or you hate them, its really irrelevant, because if you are a gamer on any platform, there is one thing you should know by now, regardless of your age and what generation you grew up in, and that is that you NEVER bet against Nintendo!!! They may sometimes be down, but you never count them out.
Well I think it's a shame, because I personally LOVE World War 1+2 settings so I was really looking forward to getting it on the Switch. Now I'll just wait until it comes down to £25 over Black Friday/Christmas and get it for my Xbox One. Even more of a shame as I was really hoping to try and finish my Xbox One back catalogue so I could sell it, now it looks like I'll have to keep it for games like this that interest me but skip the Switch.
It may be off topic completely but I just want them to add the WWE Network App more than anything lol. That way I can finish off my Xbox One games and sell it.
Pre-ordered two from GAME the minute I saw it (one for me and one for my brother in law). I was on GAME's website before they'd even put it up for sale lol. I just sat there refreshing the page for 5 minutes or so until it popped up on their home page.
I bought it, I like it, it's the sort of game that's easy for me to pick up and play for just a quick 20-30 minutes, which fits into my lifestyle perfectly. Not the best game out there; not as good or addictive as Splatoon for example, but it's a good first effort of a new IP on a brand new console. Plus it's easy to play and hard to master, which I enjoy. And it reminds of Powerstone so much too (admittedly I prefer Powerstone). Makes me think that if they do a sequel to ARMS they might actually include weapons and make it all a bit more chaotic. Either way, worth the purchase IMO.
I love Super Bomberman R, but I am absolutely RUBBISH at it. I lose to the computer on the easiest setting and never win online lol.
Admittedly I have only played it twice since I got my Switch last month due to lack of time, but I must admit, I was obviously cocky and thinking I was going to walk into it being as good as I was for the Mega Drive version back in the mid 1990's lol
I long for the days where having time meant I could get good at games lol.
I caved in and got mine on the 27th of April with Bomberman and Mario Kart 8 the next day.
Still haven't got round to opening mine up yet, let alone setting it up or playing it.
When I finally do though, I know that I will use it very much like my Wii U; offscreen/handheld when the TV is in use and it's not something I have any interest in, and then as a proper home console with my Pro Controller on those lightning in a bottle moments when I get the chance to play on the big TV.
I doubt my Switch will ever leave my house though to be used as a handheld.
Clearly I'm the only one who still enjoys seeing Wii U sales figures lol I'm still hoping that it makes it to the next magical landmark digit of 14 million sold worldwide in its lifetime lol
Though it seems like it came out of nowhere, which it did, surely this is a good thing for all those people who were worried about Nintendo dropping support for the 3DS range?
If they're prepared to make a whole new model, surely it shows some form of commitment on their side to say that the 2/3DS isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
As for whom it is aimed at, well, I for one would probably get one for £130 if I was on the lookout for a new model (I have the original 2DS) as opposed to paying around £180 for a model with 3D, as for me personally, I wouldn't pay and extra £50 for a feature I would never use.
That's why I love the original 2DS. The design is perfect for me, but not for others, which is why they would no doubt go for the new one. Just my opinion.
I find it a shame, as from the October 2016 trailer, to the January 2017 reveal, to the March 2017 launch, to the current day, that Nintendo have had people eating out of the palm of their hands. Nintendo and Switch have been the buzzwords for months now in the entire gaming community, and they are at the centre of attention so to speak, and in a positive way (which is why I still think the March release was a fantastic idea); so why they do not strike now with everything they have whilst they are sh*t hot, as a fan, is a mystery to me.
They could show off the console all over again, all the games that are already out, all the 2017 tities, and even ones that are still years away yet.......just throw everything you have into it to more people on board.
However, I say that as a Nintendo FAN. From a business perspective; I am self employed, and I do not expect anyone to tell me how to run my business, so I am not going to tell a multi billion dollar company how to run theirs.
In their own way, they must know what they are doing and what they think will work, and what they can afford (literally) to bring to the table at E3. Most said the January reveal and March release was a stupid idea and look how that played out for them.
Regardless of their business attitude at times, they still manage to make money, even if it is not as much as the previous year, or their projections, or even as much as we like to think they could make.
I look forward to whatever it is they show off regardless
On a side note I have just ordered my Switch a few minutes ago, with Mario Kart 8, Bomberman and a Pro Controller all for £400 which I was quite pleased with lol
I'm the same. Nintendo gamer since 1990, but never got into Zelda whatsoever until WindWaker HD came out for the Wii U, and I LOVED it.
I don't know what it was about Zelda, as they looked amazing, were so popular, I have nothing but respect for them and their popularity, but they just never seemed to appeal to me. I'm not stupid, but it almost seemed like they were too difficult and awkward to understand for me personally.
However, as much as I love WindWaker HD, I got it on launch day in 2013 as I loved the look of it, and am only on cave 7 I believe. I got stuck on a bit and haven't gone back to it in nearly 3 years. Yet I read about people saying how easy it is and how they completed it in a few hours. I'm jealous of those people lol.
Time is a big issue for me now with a business, wife and children, so that hasn't helped.
I got Twilight Princess HD on launch day too, and, like so many of my games, it's still sitting there shrink wrapped, unopened and unplayed. When I do get time to finally play, the thought of starting it just freaks me out because I know how crap I will be at it lol.
I got Breath Of The Wild on launch day, and though I think it is amazing and worth every bit of its praise, I've managed to play it twice and have NO idea what I'm doing now. I think I'm still looking for this last shrine that some geezer on a tower told me to look for; I have NO clue what I'm doing now though. But yet I LOVE the game (what I've played), the freedom, the artwork, the style etc.
With such little time I'm so much more of a quick Mario Kart session here, or a few levels of Mario, Donkey Kong or Rayman there, a few fights in Smash Bros or a few rounds of Call Of Duty or Mario Tennis Ultra Smash etc.
Another game I love, but am awful at and have no idea what I'm doing anymore is Xenoblade Chronicles X. You have no idea how much I want to love that game like others do, and actually GET somewhere when I play it as opposed to just roam around and getting nowhere
I would buy it in a heartbeat because I LOVE World War 1/2 FPS. Any and all of them. Battlefield 1 for example is one of the most superb games that I've played in the last 10 years I'd say, so to now go back to its roots and make the Call Of Duty name mean something again, I'm all for.
If I want Sci-fi shooting I'd play Halo.
Plus if they DON'T bring it out for Switch it means I can't get rid of my Xbox One yet lol.
I love my Xbox One for the record but have no time to play long, drawn out story games anymore, so I'm trying to complete my library and then sell it.
When I have those rare moments of peace to game, I just like to kick back, relax, and play something that doesn't require me to think much, like Mario Kart or Bomberman.
I really want a Switch, but thus far there is only Bomberman that I want for it (got Zelda on Wii U). I'm trying my hardest to wait until Splatoon 2, which will be my personal system seller, but with Bomberman, Street Fighter, and Mario Kart all out before then I might need to bite beforehand.
My only two issues ATM to be fair is that Bomberman is still £50, and that I don't mind waiting so I can hopefully get a console that doesn't have the Joy-Con issues. I'd rather all "faulty" ones be sold off first.
Still very surprised that the Switch is quite hard to come by here in the UK at the moment too (at normal price). Must admit, I was not expecting that.
Loved playing it on the big screen with both Pro Controller and the GamePad on Saturday night, and managed to enjoy about 45 minutes of it yesterday just on the GamePad with offscreen play; thought it still looked amazing TBH.
Shame they didn't release a Zelda Wii U bundle with a themed GamePad like WindWaker or something like that just to give the console a great send off.
I cancelled my pre order at the midnight launch because I still had this for the Wii U on order, and I couldn't bring myself to buy the Switch for literally just one game that I can play elsewhere. Especially seeing as my back catalogue of games is enormous too.
Nothing against the dual launch though and will undoubtedly pick up a Switch in the Summer with Bomberman, Fire Emblem Warriors and Splatoon 2.
Gonna sit down in about an hour and enjoy a couple of hours of the Wii U version. Got my GamePad and Pro Controller fully charged and all cleaned up, and the game is installing as I type
Only problem I have ever personally experienced with them relating to pre-orders was the whole Super Mario Maker debacle.
Pre-ordered my Switch in store purely because I have over £400's worth of Gift Cards and Reward Points to use, and you can't use them on pre-orders online.

Well if it comes to the Switch then it looks like I will finally get a chance to play it, as I won't need the big TV for it
Re: Sony Doesn't Consider Handheld Gaming To Be A "Huge Market Opportunity"
And Nintendo throws a spanner in the works as always and forces the competition to change the way they design their next console lol.
Seriously though, I'd be utterly gobsmacked if Sony didn't come up with their version of the Switch for the PS5. Not that I'm complaining though TBF.

Re: Deals: Celebrate The UK's National Video Games Day With £20 Off A Nintendo Switch
I reckon the deal from GAME for £280 with Rayman is a pretty sweet DEAL considering that is how much just the console alone will be tomorrow again.

Re: Konami on Super Bomberman R Support and the Possibility of Producing More Games for Switch
Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch
I got the one for the Wii U as my free game with Mario Kart 8 when they were doing that offer after hearing all the positive things about it.
I'll be honest, I played it about 3/4 times but just could not get into it whatsoever.
Glad to hear the Switch is getting it though as I know how much people love it, and I know that it'll be a system seller for a lot of people
Re: Nintendo Switch Led Japanese Hardware Sales in April
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Nintendoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Re: Poll: How Do You Play the Nintendo Switch - As A Portable, Home Console or Hybrid?
I caved in and got mine on the 27th of April with Bomberman and Mario Kart 8 the next day.
Still haven't got round to opening mine up yet, let alone setting it up or playing it.
When I finally do though, I know that I will use it very much like my Wii U; offscreen/handheld when the TV is in use and it's not something I have any interest in, and then as a proper home console with my Pro Controller on those lightning in a bottle moments when I get the chance to play on the big TV.
I doubt my Switch will ever leave my house though to be used as a handheld.
Re: Famitsu Charts Show Strong Debut for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Japan
Clearly I'm the only one who still enjoys seeing Wii U sales figures lol I'm still hoping that it makes it to the next magical landmark digit of 14 million sold worldwide in its lifetime lol
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Finally Fixes That Annoying Acceleration Stat Issue
Can't say I ever noticed or was bothered if I l'm honest lol
Re: New Nintendo 2DS XL Announced, Releases 28th July
Re: Surprise, Nintendo Isn't Hosting An E3 Press Conference This Year
I find it a shame, as from the October 2016 trailer, to the January 2017 reveal, to the March 2017 launch, to the current day, that Nintendo have had people eating out of the palm of their hands.
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Pushes Switch and Wii U Sales, 3DS Has Multiple Million-Sellers
@Marios-love-child
Re: Poll: Do You Think Call Of Duty: WWII Will Come To Switch, And Would You Want It If It Did?
Re: Analyst Firm Macquarie Predicts Impressive Nintendo Switch Sales in the Coming Year
I really want a Switch, but thus far there is only Bomberman that I want for it (got Zelda on Wii U).
Re: Nintendo Switch and New 3DS XL Lead in Japan as Monster Hunter XX Arrives
Still very surprised that the Switch is quite hard to come by here in the UK at the moment too (at normal price). Must admit, I was not expecting that.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch vs. Wii U
I'm very happy with my Wii U version.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch vs. Wii U
Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Cancelling Nintendo Switch Preorders Days Before Launch
Only problem I have ever personally experienced with them relating to pre-orders was the whole Super Mario Maker debacle.
Pre-ordered my Switch in store purely because I have over £400's worth of Gift Cards and Reward Points to use, and you can't use them on pre-orders online.
Hope everyone gets what they want on Friday
