No problems yet and I’ve put in 20 ish hours already. This game is so good. I think playing stories 2 prepped me for the lore and world of a mainline game kinda. I had a 3ds demo of like 3u or something and never really liked it. Rise is awesome. Glad I ordered the rise pro controller too; can’t wait for it to show up.
THPS 2, both THUG’s, and American wasteland are some of my favourite gaming experiences, and I absolutely loved them at the time. Then skate absolutely destroyed them for me. Can’t go back to this style of arcade skateboarding anymore. The soundtracks would be the only highlight. Bring on skate 4 and hopefully it gets released on switch or it’s successor.
@Azuris DualShock style? Or with sticks on top? I can’t think of a controller with sticks above the dpad/command button. That’s probably a thing, right? It would be cool to have a set of joycon with a proper, responsive, and accurate dpad taking priority with the command buttons above the sticks. Supplementary to the stock style of joy con.
I’ve been wanting to play it as I finished the first one for the first time on switch, but didn’t want to play them back to back. Can’t really find it anywhere in Canada which is disappointing. I want a physical copy.
@nerdface That’s my least favourite part about the game! It’s super annoying on multiplayer. The simple rules mode is great, but I wish you could toggle off the splitscreen. Tennis for 64 still remains on top
For anyone struggling at the beginning those grinding methods mentioned above work but I prefer using Wallace’s secret shop in the first level. Paying off Scott’s rental fees for those stat boost items costs 500! For a quarter of that money (129 I think) you can buy one bionic arm from Wallace (in his secret shop) and it boosts your strength by 50 (permanently). Buy two and you have maxed your strength stat already. Then go back when you have the cash for the sonic speed one and the rpg one. Honestly tho with the bionic arm it will make your life way easier. But that shop is probably the easiest way to get all your stats to 100. To go snack items are also useful.
Now that people mention it, I definitely would have preferred a Ubisoft released physical version . Bought the digital too because of commenters here saying how long LRG takes. First time buying anything from them. This is worth it tho. The graphic novels, movie, and game are all good, which never happens. Happy to have all versions physical soon enough.
Double dip fur sure. Getting the physical and will probably buy digital while I wait for it. Paul Robertson never gets credit for this game. His animation style is incredible. Watch King of Power 4 Billion %
The boot grab on the European and Japanese cover is inexcusable. Plus it almost looks like the ‘mannequin’ is doing a toe-deo (rodeo off the toes), or at least a really dumped frontside spin grabbing Indy properly between the bindings. NA for me. (Also biased as that’s the version I played and own). Don’t grab boot or tindy (halfway between tail and Indy grab) kids!!
Had a very similar Pokémon experience. Lime green gameboy color and Pokémon red. It was my first console, and I think my parents regretted that decision haha
773 hours 51 games 5 Mario games Most played games: Animal crossing Xenoblade chronicles de Splatoon 2 Rocket league Snack world Most active month was April
@NotoriousWhiz you’re right about bomberman 64 being the best. I still don’t get why they never iterated on the 2.5d multiplayer levels. It’s so much better than the standard 2d top down bomberman multiplayer. It’s nice not wasting time blowing up bricks to get out of a corner
I was never allowed to own a home console at this point in my life, so during the n64’s life I would always rent one for my birthday. And then proceed to rent the weirdest games because I didn’t know any better. This was one of them. And chameleon twist and clay fighter 63 1/3. Weird times
I bought one strike well before that chain of free games last year and quite enjoy it. Really like the music in game, and as someone above said, it’s very fun with a friend. Probably will download the other 3
I’ve been playing a lot of Drink More Glurp with my roommates, and that hasn’t become stale since the games are so varied, and even if you play the same event there will probably be a unique modifier that makes it different from the first time around. Lots of replay value there. Wondering if this might get stale. Will probably get it if it goes on sale. Basically what everyone says about any game that isn’t a first party Nintendo game
Had a crap day at work and decided to just send it on two of the pieces cause I think they’re pretty neat. Got the blue anorak sweater and the overalls. Those overalls are gonna be comfy as heck, and gonna make me feel good. Wished I got those Levi’s overalls earlier in the year, didn’t want to pass these up
Used to be rock band, skate 2 or 3, dead space, super Mario 64, and the most common now is rocket league. Play that lots when I don’t know what to do but want to distract myself
Got the demo from the first one and just kept playing it for multiplayer so I never had the need to buy the game. Wonder if there is that type of longevity in this demo
@doctorhino @IronMan30 There is also going to be a Halloween splatfest this month.
The single player campaign is Splatoon is quite fun as well and fairly substantial. Buy the octo expansion and the single player content is meaty. Fun game, highly recommend, even now
Bummer. I really love level-5 games. Fantasy life is my most played 3ds game. I bought physical copies of ni no kuni (double dip), and snack world for switch. Megaton musashi looks promising, and like others have said, I was probably going to jump into Yo-Kai watch 4. Hopefully someone else handles the localizations
I never realized you could replay 3D Land as Luigi and the levels got way more difficult. That really opened up the game for me when a friend told me about that. Great game. All the ones I’ve played are great. Super excited for the collection since I’ve never played sunshine or galaxy.
Scott Pilgrim, animanaguchi, Paul Robertson, insta buy for this guy! Thought I would buy it for ps4 but would way rather it on switch. Still got the game on my ps3 but as a Canadian I must buy anything Scott pilgrim as many times as its rereleased
Happy to see neurovoider on the list. Spent a lot of time with it when I first got my switch, coop too. Also one of the very very few games of this genre I’ve beat in its entirety

Re: Feature: Intriguing Switch eShop Games That Caught Our Eye - 31st March
I also must confess I scroll the Eshop a lot. Like every time I turn my switch on I do that before starting a game. It’s bad.
