Back in February, the edgy publisher Devolver Digital announced the quirky low-fi 3D adventure Sludge Life for Nintendo Switch. Months on, it's now locked in a release date of 2nd June (so that's early next month).
The trailer is still just as crazy and confusing, so below is some PR to explain what exactly is going on. There's also a cool interactive shop website for the game that you can check out.
"Roam a tiny island stuck on a sludge covered planet as upcoming tagger GHOST, a breezy bandit set on staking their claim amongst the graffiti elite. Traverse the corporately branded landscape, link up with other taggers, and steal junk and hearts along the way. Will you become the king of the island and tag every open inch, infiltrate sludge-pumping corporation GLUG, or just take it all down in flames with you?"

I'm buying, only to listen to Dose One's art, if not more. The teaser sounds like a Themselves record on sleeping pills. Which reminds me how great a cLOUDDEAD-scored game would be.

I've been waiting for news on this for ages; it looks like my kind of weird. I'm sure it was slated for a 2020 release though and then just vanished?

Devolver sure have some creative minds. I’ve never seen anything quite like this. I guess jet set radio comes to mind with the tagging and sticking it to the man but this is very different. I’ll be looking forward to the review.
I've been searching around, but can't find any other articles on this, so my question to you all is: did this game have a different title? I recognize this game, but think it was called something else.

This looks like a crusty, trippy, budget take on Jet Grind Radio... but I loveeee that game and want another entry (Bomb Rush Cyberfunk looks like a spiritual successor)... so I'll keep my eye on this Sludge Life bizarreness!
