Two Point Hospital has proven to be quite a success, luring in players with nostalgia for the classic Theme Hospital alongside younger gamers that simply enjoy the goofy customisation and fun times it offers. It also has SEGA on publishing duty, which has no doubt helped developer Two Point Games to keep working on all those DLCs - a Jumbo Edition recently arrived at retail for Switch.
Now, courtesy of the most useful of resources for learning about new games - accidental Microsoft Store listings - we know what's next from the studio. Two Point Campus has appeared in that listing, and though there's no release date the likelihood is that it's not too far away. It is worth noting that this doesn't confirm a Switch version, but considering the popularity of Two Point Hospital on the system a port seems like a reasonable bet.
As the name suggests you'll be creating and running a University, but of course there'll be twists to the formula. Part of the description and a couple of screens are below.
Rather than typical academic fare, students in Two Point County enjoy a range of wild and wonderful courses: from Knight School (hey, we all have to learn jousting at some point in our lives), to the salivatory Gastronomy, where your students will build mouth-watering concoctions like giant pizzas and enormous pies.
Take advantage of the opportunity to spend way more time with the little people in your university. The academic year begins with a summer break, giving you enough time to get everything looking great before your students move in.
Build libraries, hire the best staff (from eccentric professors to madcap researchers), kit your campus out with the best courses and watch the academic potential of your students get unlocked!
But it’s not just work hard. Get to know your students, explore their individual personalities, wants and needs. Keep them happy with clubs, societies, gigs.
Here's hoping it's not too far away, and that perhaps this time the Switch can get its version around the same time as the game's launch elsewhere. Let us know what you think in the comments!

I never played Two Point Hospital, was it any good? I'm not sure this sounds that appealing to be honest.. especially considering world circumstances and most campuses are/were closed for the 50% of the year!
Oh, such originality! Imo very nice spin on the them hospital and roller coaster tycoon genre. I never knew that I wanted this but now I know that I want this!
@multi yes, as a fan of theme hospital and roller coaster tycoon I can say it’s very good.
Thanks @Friendly how much detail do these games go onto? how much autonomy do you have? The last sim type game I played was sim city on the SNES 😂
For over twenty years, my biggest wish for the "Theme" franchise was a "Theme School", as this is probably as close as I'll ever get, so I'l take it!
Oh. My. God. YES. This sounds awesome! Two Point Hospital was great, even looked and ran great on Switch. I would assume we're getting this, i sure am excited for it! Also, looking out for your students' needs and all, that sounds almost Sims-ish and since i've been desperately craving that on Switch, this might help scratch that itch a bit!
as a fan of theme hospital I really enjoyed two point hospital up to a point... after a certain while it just comes down to micromanaging patients. looking forward to this one
Huh. Thought they would go with more of a Movie Studio sim for their second project. Not complaining with this though. Two Point Studios and Sega might need to release the trailer for this now, since it's now in the wild.
Sad that there is so little news that the site had to report on games that haven't even been announced for Switch. Nintendo really needs to focus on a new console that is equal to (or more powerful than) the PS5 / Xbox Series X. They just don't produce enough games on their own and there is only so many times they can cannibalize their back catalog before people get bored and move on.
Jeez, SEGA seems leaky as hell lately, what with Sonic Colors Deluxe existence being revealed to be coming early and the Sonic Collection.
I've been holding out for a mobile release, but it doesn't look like that'll be coming.
Aw well..
.. Probably for the best, though. There'll be 100 bazillion completely unnecessary IAPs, so much it'd probably be cheaper to build a real hospital.
I did spend an alarming amount of time playing RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic on iOS yesterday, and was thinking about 2.Hospital as I was playing.
Maybe I should just get the Switch edition, and be done with it..?
Two Point Hospital is absolutely bloody fantastic, I sunk hundreds of hours into it within the first few weeks, without even realising. And it's actually quite a lot better than Theme Hospital was (and that game was already and still is an all time classic), it's better than the thing it's trying to be a homage to. And as I understand, it's made by the same team that made the original Theme Hospital, two decades before this one, which explains why it's so good. It's not just a homage, it's a direct sequel. It's like 100 times more complex though, there's SO many more funny diseases, so many more room types and objects to fill them with, and so on. And after the first few levels it becomes REALLY difficult. But that's all good, it's not too hard, especially if you're a veteran with these theme tycoon sort of games.
It runs very well on the Switch too which is great, because the whole thing is rendered in 3D instead of sprites, so in case you're worrying about slowdown, it doesn't really have any of that on the switch version
I'm definitely buying this sequel of sorts, when it comes out, probably day 1, because two point hospital is that good. This new game, it'll be the same basic idea but still very different. I don't think I've ever seen a theme/tycoon game based around a university campus, so it'll be interesting to see what unique things it has. What unique challenges etc. And I assume you'll hirethe teachers and admin and janitorial staff etc like you do with doctors/nurses/janitors in two point hospital. I'm just wondering what the main daily goal would be. In the theme hospital games you have a constant influx of patients to cure. So perhaps "teaching" a student will be the mechanical equivalent of curing a patient.
And I bet there'll be stuff like perhaps an STD has begun spreading to everyone on campus and you'd have to quarantine them or something. Stuff like that, I'm guessing.
But yeah I urge everyone to try two point hospital if they loved the old theme tycoon games. It goes on sale all the time, I think I bought my copy at half price, and it's definitely worth the £30 full price anyway (I think that's usually the sort of price it goes ffor when not on sale)
I hope this same team makes a new Theme Park kinda game tas well though, eventually. Obviously it can't be called Theme Park, it'd have to be Two Point Park I suppose. But I always preferred the theme park games to the rollercoaster Tycoon games.
@Multi Two Point Hospital is brilliant. If you ever loved theme hospital or the other theme tycoon types of games, you'll love this. It's made by the same team who made the original Theme Hospital. It's a hell of a lot more complex, but they gradually introduce new things to you level by level so it's not too overwhelming (unless you jump straight into the free mode where you have infinite money and can build using every room and item from the get go)
Anyway yeah, watch two point hospital because every so often it goes on sake, I've seen it for half price. Although it's definitely worth full price anyway. If you loved theme hospital you'll love this even more. I couldn't believe I'd put off buying it, once I was playing it and realising how fun and addictive it was
I'm a total shill for two point hospital, completely voluntarily, cos I really love it that much. Its instantly become the game I've played the most hours on my switch (except for BotW). You just get sucked into it for hours at a time
I hope will see Two-Point Park, Two-Point Resort, Two-Point Prison, Two-Point Ski Resort, and Two-Point Airport in the foreseeable future.
@Clyde_Radcliffe
Probably on purpose at this point, solid marketing hype for "leaks".
Hospital was just great, have about 300 hours on it. Love it. Even have it on PC too. Can't wait for more two point crazy bonkers action. If you've never tried Hospital, you're missing out.
All this talk about sims and tycoons really makes me want an updated version of sim theme park. One of the few pc games I played when I was young. Twinsen’s odyssey deserves a remaster too while we’re at it
@Clyde_Radcliffe "Uh oh! The leak is leaking again!"
Woah snap! More two point? Yes please! Probably would've been better as a DLC but alright
Man, here I am just hoping this was going to be an amusement park next.
I'd kill for a good Rollercoaster Tycoon-like by now.
Two point hospital is fantastic. I'll wait for a trailer of this.
Sounds great. This also makes me miss The Sims 2: University. One of my students married their professor, another the burglar who sneaked in to her parents' house, another the Cow mascot, another the cheerleader.
In retrospect, I'm surprised I never had any of my Sims go after the lunch lady.
Two Point Hospital might still be on sale on the eshop. Three days ago, I got the Jumbo Upgrade DLC, which was also on sale. I look forward to jumping back into the game and checking it out. I enjoy the puns (such as Mock Star, with Freddie Mercury wannabes strutting around, and Lightheadedness, whose sufferers have light bulb heads) and general sense of humor (if a patient dies, the ghost wanders around but a properly-skilled janitor can vacuum it up Luigi style). I am definitely intersted in this university-themed follow up.
