When it comes to stylish pixel-based Indie games, there's a very good chance of the Switch eShop being picked as a platform. Not only is the Nintendo audience clearly receptive to top-notch download games and the creativity they show, but the system is an ideal home for smaller releases.
UNSIGHTED, developed by Studio Pixel Punk and published by Humble Games, is another game to make the jump from being a Steam / Epic Games Store release to also targeting the eShop. This has been confirmed in the trailer shared by Nintendo, above, lining it up for an Autumn / Fall release.
It looks rather accomplished in the footage, and the concept sounds intriguing too; check out the game description below.
After a long war with the humans, the few androids that remain in Arcadia are running out of Anima, the energy that gives all robots consciousness.
It's up to you, Alma, to find a way to recover your memories and save your friends from becoming UNSIGHTED. Explore the vast ruins of Arcadia, using every tool you can find. Time is ticking. They need you, Alma.
- Explore the interconnected paths of Arcadia, finding its shortcuts and secrets.
- Time is always ticking, don't let your (and anyone else's) Anima run out.
- Solve puzzles and gather new abilities and tools to get past obstacles.
- Many different weapons, from melee to ranged, to suit your play style.
- Need more stamina? Upgrade yourself with a wide variety of chips.
- Highly replayable and non-linear, try to find the fastest route to your objectives.
- Cooperative gameplay available.
Let us know what you think and if this is one for your - undoubtedly long - wishlist.

Is this from the Hyper Light Drifter developer?
One more game by a Brazilian developer. And because I like the visuals and, of course, it seems to be a promising a metroidvania, I'm in!
I am considering this one. Will wait on reviews.
@MrGrim I don’t think so, I’ve seen the trailer for the next game from those devs, it’s a 3D game, Solar Ash.
This game clearly takes lots of inspiration from HLD, but can you blame them?
This seems to be the studio’s first title.
Anyone wanting to give it a go, there’s a demo on Steam it seems.
@BloodyMurder what naked girl?
@ChessboardMan
Ok, thanks. I was genuinely curious because I don’t recall the name of the studio that made HLD. (Not to mention a key developer on the game could have formed a new studio or something.)
Looks cool regardless. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
Looks good! Will add to the wishlist.
Man, this looks GOOD. Who else is excited for this?
@BloodyMurder To my knowledge, that is not game's cover. That was chosen by this author, I assume.
Also, I'm pretty sure that it wasn't chosen because the character is Black. Although, who knows and who cares?
Looks neat. Kind of reminds me of CrossCode. I'm interested.
I'll be keeping an eye on this. Looks great.
@BloodyMurder The lead dev is a lady.
I've been watching development on Twitter, the game looks great!
Well… sold! Looks great.
Okay, I love this and the enemy design and art style are gorgeous. But the real deciding factor is if the levels are handcrafted or procedurally generated.
@Chlocean they're hand-crafted, it has a Metroidvania approach to its game world.
@MrGrim Heart Machine is the Hyper Light Drifter studio. some HLD alumni have moved onto other studios, but not Studio Pixel Punk to my knowledge.
@Dualmask I LOVE me some CrossCode! I need to get that for the Switch...
@BloodyMurder What does being Black have to do with anything? The trailer literally opens with Alma in some sort of cloning vat. How about focusing on the game instead of fake race baiting?
Edit: the referenced comment has been removed.
Reminds me of hyper light drifter with more environmental stuff going on so definitely gonna check it out!
Instabuy, that trailer was great!
Looks really good. I agree it feels like cross code. That game is awesome
@TheRealMW Excellent news. Thank you for doing the research for my lazy butt.
As expected, nothing about the naked black girl on the cover but only Japanese/anime games ever get the "pervert" treatment.
