It seems that Switch gamers will have a glut of skateboarding games to enjoy before long. At the end of the month Birdman himself is coming to Nintendo's console with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, and we recently had confirmation that SkateBIRD is shredding to Switch in August. We also have OlliOlli World lined up for a Winter 2021 launch, and publisher Private Division released a new E3 trailer for the game.
As you can see above, the video gives a quick overview of OlliOlli World's... world. BB Hopper takes you on a brief tour of Radlandia, with a look at some of the varied environments you'll be grinding, ollie-ing, nollie-ing and kickflipping through.
Most skateboard games stick with the concrete urban feel, so it's nice to see Roll7 trying something a bit different with this latest addition to the OlliOlli series. We enjoyed the OlliOlli: Switch Stance and have high hopes for this one. Fingers crossed this will be a wintertime treat.
Let us know below if you're a fan of this new style and the rad locations in the trailer.

The game looks great, can't wait to try it. Looks like a big improvement over the previous entries.
I'm profoundly impressed with the way certain indie developers are committing to bold and unique art styles (I really don't want to see anymore played out "retro" aesthetics).
I was worried the artstyle wouldn’t click with me but it looks really good in motion. Release date please...
Wow I love this. Like the animation for tweaked grabs and the impossible at the end look so good. Should be fun
Traditionally OlliOlli has been far more of a rhythm auto-runner sorta game than anything else. I think Skate City really took the side scrolling skateboarding concept in a direction that is far more in tune with actual skateboarding. That said this does look more focused on being a skating game than the originals, but still can't say I have much interest knowing what the first two games are like.
From what they've shown I have to wonder how difficult it gets., all looks pretty low-stakes so far. Also not entirely sure how it being open world will enrich the game.
