I'm quite excited for December between Doom Eternal and the Bit Trip games. The Bit Trip series is just about as close to perfect as I think any series of games can be. Those games are art without a doubt. Played the heck out of them on Wii and 3DS, and I'll gladly revisit them on Switch. Core is my favorite game in the series. Something about the rhythm of the songs and the accompanying backgrounds is just mesmerizing to me. Freaking love the songs in stage 2 (Exploration) and stage 3 (Control) of Core. I love Void too. Very abstract and surreal but also very addictive. Anybody else a Bit Trip junkie like me?
The developers also hinted on Twitter that Runner 2 is coming (said "Stay tuned" when asked about it). Hope it's not far behind.
I'm also grabbing Fire Emblem in the hopes that we get more games localized. I'd love it if we ended up getting the Jugdral games and Binding Blade localized.
Oh and then there's John Wick Hex. I love the films, and I've heard Hex is a pretty fun game. I do enjoy strategy games, so I'll give it a look.
@anoyonmus Excellent! Thanks for the info. I see that was addressed in the interview now. That's what I get for getting too excited and opening my mouth before reading the article. 😛
"To all animal crossing owners. you need to buy this.
It may have taken a while, but the fact this is now releasing in just about a week's time has me really excited. I didn't think Eternal was as good as Doom 2016, but I enjoyed it all the same. I really hope this has gyro aiming from the get-go because I think that would fix a big issue I had with the PS4 version where I felt like I was being hampered by a dual stick control scheme for a game that was so fast paced it almost demanded the precision of a mouse (one reason I'd like to build a PC this gen instead of getting a PS5).
@SMUGSLOTH69 Time to invest in a 1 TB micro SD card. 😉
Posting this rather late since I've been away from my normal routine due to Thanksgiving. I finally finished Mario and Luigi Paper Jam for my Mario Marathon. Easily my least favorite game in the lineup so far. It just bored me so badly, and I'm sure playing it directly after Dream Team didn't help. I actually looked back at these logs I've been making weekly, and I started Dream Team on October 24th and finished Paper Jam on November 24th. Took me a month on just those two games...Thankfully I'm on to Color Splash now which I've been playing with my brother over the Thanksgiving break and enjoying a lot.
It's funny how Color Splash and Origami King are really the games that are responsible for me deciding to do this marathon. I wanted to try Origami King, but I had originally skipped Color Splash. I hated to skip an entry in the series, so I got it. Then I played a bit of it but decided I wanted to replay all the Paper Mario games. Replayed Paper Mario but then wished I had just done a complete Mario RPG marathon. From there I thought "Why not just marathon the entire series of platformers and RPGs?" So I started in my own presumed chronological order with Yoshi's Island and worked my way back through. Been working on this since about the tail end of July or the very first day of August. It's insane how far I've come.
After this it's just Super Mario Run, Mario + Rabbids, Captain Toad, Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion 3, and then Origami King.

@dartmonkey Oh, no problem, I'm just a stickler for details. I wish it had no cool down time, but I guess that would make other weapons sort of useless.
Although, you can just enter and exit the trial of the sword to recharge it. Takes about 1 minute as opposed to 10.
Accompanying text to the last question once you've answered it says the fully upgraded Master Sword is unbreakable with no cool down time. That ain't the case. It just takes about 200 strikes before it needs to recharge.
I just saw this on the eShop! YES!!! I was just saying a couple weeks back how I wanted these! I mean I'd rather have Complete, but the individual games work too!
I'm guessing we'll also be getting Runner 2 sometime in the near future. That's my favorite one.
I grabbed the Bioshock Collection, but man does it eat up space. As someone who loves single player shooters, is Borderlands worth a look? I also like turn based strategy so I'm wondering if the XCOM games are worth getting. Any fans of either series here?
Carrion was amazingly fun. Would have liked a map feature, but once I figured out the general layout of the map, I didn't have much trouble getting around and obtaining everything.
Katana Zero is also incredible. Tight gameplay and a surprisingly gripping story.
I've been taking a break from Mario, but I'm gonna try to continue my marathon with Paper Jam. Not particularly enjoying the game, but I want to finish it because the next game is Color Splash, and my brother and I were gonna try to play together it over Thanksgiving. Color Splash together with Origami King is kind of the reason I started this whole Mario Marathon in the first place.
Other than that, I'll probably take some breaks with Sniper Elite 4, Pure Pool, and Animal Crossing.
Enemy AI is definitely still pretty easy to manipulate. I love how I can get in a bush and throw a rock near an enemy that's far away and then keep throwing them closer as the enemy gets nearer to me. They just follow it like candy strewn across the floor. 😂
I've been eagerly awaiting it since its announcement. Got the version with all the DLC included. I really love sneaking around in a ghillie suit with a camouflaged rifle.
In my Mario marathon I haven't really moved much since last weekend...not really enjoying Paper Jam to be honest. I just find it to be extremely uninteresting unlike the four games that precede it.
I'll probably mostly be getting achievements and leveling up in Sniper Elite 3 ahead of 4 releasing on Switch. I'm really excited to have 4 on this system.
Also, not a video game, but I'm planning on watching Blade Runner for the first time. Heard great things about it.
While I love A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds, 3D Zelda includes Breath of the Wild and my favorite Zelda game of all: Twilight Princess. So 3D for me.
Honestly I'm tired of having my AAA games limited by what consoles can do so for the first time I'm not planning on getting a console (except for Nintendo). I'm planning on building a PC next generation. Though with how many games I have yet to finish on Switch and PS4, I could go a long time without buying a new system.
Normally I'd say PS5, but I'd at the very least wait for something like a Pro model when there are a lot more games to play. Plus the only PS exclusive I have any interest in is God of War, which...I can't really justify a whole console for just that one game.
Just this last Wednesday I finally finished Dream Team after slogging it out for more than two weeks. I really enjoyed playing it again, but the game honestly had too much padding. Took me longer to finish than any other game in this marathon so far. Actually Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and Dream Team both took about 30 hours, but with Paper Mario I did that entirely within Labor Day weekend instead of dragging it out over weeks. At least I really enjoyed both games though. From then until Friday evening I did a quick run through of Super Mario 3D World (didn't 100% since it's coming to Switch).
Now I'm on Mario and Luigi Paper Jam. This is a bit of a landmark for me because it's the first game in this marathon I've never played. So far the game feels a bit weird to me for some reason... possibly because it's the only Mario and Luigi game that I didn't play when it first came out so it's unfamiliar to me.
I'm also playing a game I found on sale called Jenny LeClue. It's kind of like Night in the Woods with some detective elements. I like it!

Not exactly a point and click game (though it does have some such elements) but there's a game on sale right now for $2.99 called Jenny LeClue Detectivu. It's somewhat like Night in the Woods but with some detective elements as well. I've played about an hour of it, and it's super charming.
After downloading this update I still had a crash and an instance where when I paused the game, I couldn't move the menu cursor. Game probably still needs some more bug fixes, but so far I'm loving it. I'm on the second mission, and I really enjoy sneaking around cloaked and doing stealth kills. I also love how Delta difficulty really forces you to play carefully and use your suit's abilities to maximum efficiency.
@Little_Squee It's a pretty dang fun game if you like stealth games, World War 2 era weapons (or just the time period in general), etc. It's great on PS4, and with Rebellion's top notch work porting their other Sniper Elite games to Switch I'm sure 4 will be great on it too.
Super Mario 3D Land and Animal Crossing are mine. Also believe it or not, games like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Ghost Recon Future Soldier where I get to sneak around.
@Rykachu I'm sorry to hear all of that. I hope it turns around for you soon.
@nkarafo 4 is just a bigger, better 3 with much larger maps, more weapons, somewhat better enemy AI, and an Italian setting instead of North African. I've got 3 and plan on getting 4 as well since I love this series, but you may just want to start with 4. It's probably the best the series has to offer currently.
@ButterSpill Is that tank game worth playing? I watched a review that said it really wasn't as good as the Wii Play one, but maybe I need to watch more reviews.
@dew12333 Yeah that screenshot and some of the eShop screenshots show him in some absolutely terrible positions for a sniper. 😂 Same with the Sniper Elite 3 screenshots.
Super Mario 3D Land may well be my favorite Mario game...after Galaxy 2 anyway. It has so many incredibly fun levels. There's so many other fantastic games on the console too.
I'm playing Mario and Luigi Dream Team right now and having a fantastic time. Currently in Somnom Woods. The music is gorgeous. So is the 3D effect. I wish glasses free 3D had kept being a Nintendo thing into the future...
Last weekend I largely took a break from Mario and played Sniper Elite 4. I love that game and can't wait to get it on Switch. This weekend however, I'm focusing on finishing up Dream Team. It's a good game with fantastic music and art direction, but it doesn't know the meaning of the word "brevity". Everything in the game takes far too long to do. I hope Paper Jam isn't as padded out as Dream Team is.
I also grabbed some spooky games on sale including Carrion, and I played through probably 75% of that yesterday. I'll probably finish it today. I was really enjoying it.
Since it's Halloween, I'm also thinking I may watch The Thing and its prequel for the first time. That monster is terrifying.

I managed to play it this morning in the performance mode, and it was far more responsive than I was expecting. It almost felt like it was running on my Switch, and my internet is only like 35 Mb. Even so, I still prefer actually having a game on my system as opposed to streaming it.
@Dm9982 Oh, so it's just when other accounts are involved, I got you. I knew PS4 did that, but I wasn't aware Switch did. I only have my account on my Switch though so it shouldn't ever be an issue for me.
@Dm9982 Nope, I'm very much offline single player only. By the way I deleted my first comment right before you replied because I just didn't like it. Question though, you said "I have about 600gb of digital games on switch and if I don’t connect once a week to the internet then I can’t play em, so eh whatever." Is this some DRM thing I'm unaware of? I didn't think the Switch required you to connect to the internet at least once a week to play downloaded games you already paid for...I thought that was only a thing with the NES and SNES apps.
@TheFullAndy I remember someone I think from Bethesda saying the Switch port was coming along really great. I hope it's just enhanced on a potential new hardware version and not exclusive to that revision.
@TheFullAndy I'm speculating here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Eternal on Switch launches alongside that rumored Switch upgrade. Might be enhanced for that hardware, and that's why it hasn't come out yet.
@bobandbill Oh God, the water wraith...I also remember two of the caves I think from the Wistful Wild: the Dream Den and the Cavern of Chaos. I remember the Titan Dweevil being one grueling final boss...
@MS7000 I feel ya. Lord knows I wouldn't turn down a remaster of Luigi's Mansion 1 though (unlikely given its 3DS version). That's one of my favorite GameCube games.
@meltendo Providing they don't start focusing on Wii and GameCube ports next. 😂
Be interesting to see if they try to port the few first party Wii U games left though. Xenoblade X, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Yoshi's Wooly World, Paper Mario Color Splash, the two Zelda remasters (highly likely I think), and Star Fox Zero.
"Pikmin 2 went in the completely opposite direction, and maybe gave a bit too much freedom as a result: with unlimited days and large caves where time didn’t pass, any sense of tension was completely gone."
I'm gonna have to disagree there...some of those longer caves got freaking intense with the amount of floors and angry critters out to get you.
I'm looking forward to this though as I only played through the original once. I'm also gonna replay the first two via the Wii releases of them.

I already have Sniper Elite 4 Deluxe Edition preloaded and can't wait to play it. Love that game.
I love fast paced first person shooters too so I may see if the Serious Sam Collection is worth getting.
I'm kind of interested in Pure Pool also. I enjoyed Pool in Wii Play.

Re: Feature: Best Point And Click Adventure Games For Nintendo Switch
Not exactly a point and click game (though it does have some such elements) but there's a game on sale right now for $2.99 called Jenny LeClue Detectivu. It's somewhat like Night in the Woods but with some detective elements as well. I've played about an hour of it, and it's super charming.
Re: Crysis Remastered On Switch Updated To Version 1.5.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Re: Video: 11 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In November
@Little_Squee It's a pretty dang fun game if you like stealth games, World War 2 era weapons (or just the time period in general), etc. It's great on PS4, and with Rebellion's top notch work porting their other Sniper Elite games to Switch I'm sure 4 will be great on it too.
Re: Video: 11 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In November
Sniper Elite 4 Deluxe Edition for me. I'll also get Hyrule Warriors at some point.
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Comfort Food Game?
Super Mario 3D Land and Animal Crossing are mine. Also believe it or not, games like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Ghost Recon Future Soldier where I get to sneak around.
@Rykachu I'm sorry to hear all of that. I hope it turns around for you soon.
Re: Sniper Elite 4 Gets 'World-First' Switch Gameplay Trailer, Pre-Orders Now Live
Re: Pure Pool Pots A November Release On Switch, New Gameplay Footage Appears
@ButterSpill Is that tank game worth playing? I watched a review that said it really wasn't as good as the Wii Play one, but maybe I need to watch more reviews.
Re: Sniper Elite 4 Gets 'World-First' Switch Gameplay Trailer, Pre-Orders Now Live
Hell yeah, I love this game!
@dew12333 Yeah that screenshot and some of the eShop screenshots show him in some absolutely terrible positions for a sniper. 😂 Same with the Sniper Elite 3 screenshots.
Re: Pure Pool Pots A November Release On Switch, New Gameplay Footage Appears
Ya know, as someone who loved Wii Play Pool, I could see myself getting this.
Would love a sequel to Wii Play Tanks.
Re: Soapbox: An Ode To The 3DS, Nintendo's Workhorse Console
Super Mario 3D Land may well be my favorite Mario game...after Galaxy 2 anyway. It has so many incredibly fun levels. There's so many other fantastic games on the console too.
I'm playing Mario and Luigi Dream Team right now and having a fantastic time. Currently in Somnom Woods. The music is gorgeous. So is the 3D effect. I wish glasses free 3D had kept being a Nintendo thing into the future...
Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For November And December 2020
I'm so excited for Sniper Elite 4. There just aren't many other World War 2 stealth games that I know of.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 31st)

Re: Retro Studios Is Moving To A New HQ In 2021 To Aid Development Of Metroid Prime 4
Huge Metroid fan, but I'd love to know if Retro plans to ever do a third DK Country game. I'd be all over that.
Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud
I managed to play it this morning in the performance mode, and it was far more responsive than I was expecting. It almost felt like it was running on my Switch, and my internet is only like 35 Mb. Even so, I still prefer actually having a game on my system as opposed to streaming it.
Re: Evidence Of Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version For Nintendo Switch Seemingly Uncovered
@Dm9982 Oh, so it's just when other accounts are involved, I got you. I knew PS4 did that, but I wasn't aware Switch did. I only have my account on my Switch though so it shouldn't ever be an issue for me.
Re: New Discovery Suggests Crash Bandicoot 4 Might Be Coming To Nintendo Switch
I'd probably get this in a heartbeat. Loved the N.Sane Trilogy on Switch.
Re: Evidence Of Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version For Nintendo Switch Seemingly Uncovered
Re: Nintendo Shadow-Drops Another Nintendo Direct Mini, Watch It Here
@TheFullAndy I remember someone I think from Bethesda saying the Switch port was coming along really great. I hope it's just enhanced on a potential new hardware version and not exclusive to that revision.
Re: Nintendo Shadow-Drops Another Nintendo Direct Mini, Watch It Here
@TheFullAndy I'm speculating here, but I wouldn't be surprised if Eternal on Switch launches alongside that rumored Switch upgrade. Might be enhanced for that hardware, and that's why it hasn't come out yet.
Re: Review: Pikmin 3 Deluxe - Perhaps Not Worth A Double Dip, But The Choice Pick For New Players
@bobandbill Oh God, the water wraith...I also remember two of the caves I think from the Wistful Wild: the Dream Den and the Cavern of Chaos. I remember the Titan Dweevil being one grueling final boss...
Re: Review: Pikmin 3 Deluxe - Perhaps Not Worth A Double Dip, But The Choice Pick For New Players
@MS7000 I feel ya. Lord knows I wouldn't turn down a remaster of Luigi's Mansion 1 though (unlikely given its 3DS version). That's one of my favorite GameCube games.
Re: Review: Pikmin 3 Deluxe - Perhaps Not Worth A Double Dip, But The Choice Pick For New Players
Re: Review: Pikmin 3 Deluxe - Perhaps Not Worth A Double Dip, But The Choice Pick For New Players
