@Edu23XWiiU @AmplifyMJ I love Crysis on Switch. The graphics aren't great, but they get the job done, and I usually find that it's very stable. It's gotten a few patches to reduce crashes. One thing I really like about it is how fast it reloads your last checkpoint after you die.

I really love the open ended gameplay. You can be sneaky and do things quietly or go loud if you want. It's up to you.

I played it the other day and had no crashes, and I had died a lot too.

Republic Commando. I even have a little Hasbro action figure of Commando Scorch from way back because I just thought he looked super cool, but I never knew what he was from. I guess I'll have to put him on the table in front of me as I play.

Also I saw Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and got confused thinking it meant Taz the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes.

Re: Anniversary: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Launched A Year Ago Today

Giygas_95

@Yosher I do sorta. I took a screenshot of the video I used where it showed a diagram of the whole process, and I just go by that. As I complete steps, I remove previous steps and just keep it to one pair of flowers as much as I can. As long as I can get the right pair to produce a blue, then I should just be able to start cloning that blue rose from then on out.

Re: Anniversary: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Launched A Year Ago Today

@Yosher The guide I'm following only has a test point at the second type of purple rose. You have to breed them with a yellow rose to see if it will produce another yellow rose, and I got two of those which I'm breeding together now to produce the special white rose. As far as I can tell the rest is fairly cut and dry as to what combinations of roses produce what in this sequence I'm following.

Love, love, LOVE the GBA Fire Emblem games. I find they have the most enjoyable stories, art, and animations of all the Fire Emblem games I've played. Sacred Stones is my favorite.

Doing the usual daily stuff in Animal Crossing including trying to breed blue roses. It's taking forever, but I have a pretty guaranteed route laid out to do it. Other than that, probably some Bit Trip games, and I also finished off all of 3D World and Bowser's Fury so I think it's time to dive into Crash 4 on Switch.

Also doing some online Smash matches. I got an ethernet cable and adapter for my Switch, and I'm enjoying pretty darn stable matches with my mains Greninja, Ike, Wolf, and Sephiroth!

@Vriess HLD is my all time favorite indie game. Have fun!

Re: Soapbox: I'm Tired Of Ports And Remakes - Where Are All Nintendo's New Ideas?

Giygas_95

The thing about ports for me is that if it's a game I like then I already know I enjoy playing it, and I don't have to invest time into playing it until it finally clicks with me. Most new games I don't particularly enjoy from the get-go unless they're just really, really special games. I have to put in some effort up front to get to a point where I'm actually enjoying it. That's obviously not the case with ports of games that I've played before. Plus they give me a chance to play games I missed before. I'd love a port of Spec Ops The Line, though I suppose I could dust off my PS3 and buy it on there.

Re: Happy MAR10 Day, Everyone!

Giygas_95

Probably not much for me. I already played a ridiculous number of Mario games last year, and I just 100% completed both modes of 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

Re: Anniversary: It's Super Mario RPG's 25th Birthday!

Giygas_95

@MorganWhoop Not that I remember. I do remember it having Mario and Geno at least. The place they were in was kind of dark and foggy and had brown vegetation like it was in the middle of Autumn. In fact the whole overworld map had that sort of darkness to it.

@TheBigK Partners in Time and Dream Team are really good if you get around to them. Dream Team annoys me with how many tutorials it has and how long a lot of things take in battle, but overall it's worth it. It's really good if you can stomach all the padding.

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro

Giygas_95

@Shambo You nailed the whole experience right down to the "What's with the cameras?". The first soldier in that mission must have multiverse related PTSD too. I killed him so many times I even started referring to him by his name (believe it was Arnaulf) that he has if you look at him through your binoculars. RIP, many versions of Arnaulf. You did the Allies a great service.

Oh and I also really enjoy Snake Pass! I 100%ed it on PS4, and I've been working through it off and on on Switch. It's a hard control scheme to wrap your head around, but once you have it, you can do some pretty impressive things!

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro

Giygas_95

@Snatcher Eh...I dunno. Does the N.Sane Trilogy even count relics towards your overall completion percentage?

I guess personally I'm just gonna keep playing until I get bored. I'll shoot for getting everything in this game, but only as long as I'm having fun. Though knowing how stubborn I am, I might keep playing anyway. I say you do what you want and don't force yourself to keep playing if you don't want to.

Personally though, I have never really enjoyed time trials challenges in anything. Doesn't even matter what kind of game it is. If I'm racing a clock, I'm probably not having a lot of fun. It's why I didn't bother with the relics in N.Sane Trilogy.

I'm glad I at least just finished polishing off 3D World and Bowser's Fury. I didn't really want to be working on two big platformers simultaneously.

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro

Giygas_95

@TheLightSpirit Forty years? Oh boy, I am in for it...

@Shambo That's how I did nearly all the weapon upgrade challenges. Had a whole system worked out where I used my first quick save slot to put me right behind the first guard for challenges requiring precise kills, the third slot for saving before the first truck in the first mission drives up so I could either shoot from the tower or get up close depending on the weapon challenge, and the second save slot for quickly spawning back into one of those two positions. It still took me about 25 hours total to master all that stuff...

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro

Giygas_95

@Shambo We have similar experiences with Sniper Elite 4 and New Super Lucky's Tale. I also went for 100% with Lucky because I loved the game so much. In Sniper Elite 4, I also unlocked all the DLC and non DLC skins and all the costumes that didn't require you to play multiplayer. It took forever mastering all those weapons...at some point I also want to go find all collectibles, do all challenges, and do all optional objectives and beat everything on the highest difficulty, but that's gonna be a pretty big undertaking.

Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro

Giygas_95

I have this game on PS4, and I'm still super excited for the Switch version. Already finished 3D World and working on postgame for Bowser's Fury so I should be ready.

@PBandSmelly Five times per level...I just did that in 3D World. It doesn't require perfection, but it sure got repetitive. I know you can add extra controllers to beat the levels with more than one character, but I'm too stubborn. Champion's Road was awful with Toad.

Re: Video: Ten 3DS Exclusives That Could Be Better On Nintendo Switch

Giygas_95

@Beaucine Totally agree with you. Games being locked to particular systems is what's making it harder and harder for me to get excited for console games as I get older. I don't want my current favorite Switch and 3DS games to become unplayable some day because the hardware is obsolete and failing due to age. It's a big reason I'm hoping Nintendo adopts an upgrade model with the Switch and releases a better model every few years that's still backwards compatible with the previous models (not likely I fear, unfortunately). If they release a new model that's not backwards compatible, and we just have to start from scratch...well, I guess I'll use PC exclusively. I didn't think about this kind of stuff as a kid, but now I don't want to invest in games that I won't be able to play when the hardware becomes obsolete and eventually dies. I want my collection to always be available as much as possible.
