Ripstone Games has revealed that Pure Pool, described as "the definitive cue sports experience", will be launching on Nintendo Switch on 17th November.
Pre-orders for the game are now live on the eShop ahead of the big day, with early buyers being treated to a very welcome 20% discount from the usual £12.49 / $14.99 / €14.99 price. A new trailer has been released to celebrate, giving us a look at the game's 1080p, 60 frames-per-second gameplay in all its glory. Make sure to check that out above.
Ripstone Games' Product Manager, Hollie Pattison, says the game "runs like a dream" on Switch:
"We’ve had an amazing reaction to our initial announcement of Pure Pool coming to Nintendo Switch. The game runs like a dream on Switch and really delivers the ultimate billiards experience on the platform. We’ve prepared a new video that shows off the game in all its glory and we hope everyone is excited to grab their Switch and play some frames on November 17th!"
The game will feature a single-player campaign, skill-based challenges, unlockable customisation options and multiple modes of pool and snooker including Killer and American 8 Ball when it arrives later this month.

It's no Pool Paradise, but it's got a similar vibe to their Pure Chess game so I'll probably get this. Might even pre-order for the discount. You'd better be able to turn that aim assist off though cos it reduces the game to a procession once you know what you're doing.
Ya know, as someone who loved Wii Play Pool, I could see myself getting this.
Would love a sequel to Wii Play Tanks.
I'm interested, I would love well implemented (optional) motion controls though. Does anyone know if there's an option for this in the game?
The soundtrack is amazing. Great hangout background music.
@Giygas_95 Check out ClubHouse Games.
@ButterSpill Is that tank game worth playing? I watched a review that said it really wasn't as good as the Wii Play one, but maybe I need to watch more reviews.
Might get this if it reviews well. The environment actually looks chill and not like the inside of a coffin box like the other Switch pool games.
Based on some articles, it seems to imply online vs. friends is possible.
But the deal breaker is motion controls (i.e. can you use joycon like a cue)?
If it doesnt have motion controls, im not interested (rare to say that, right?)
That trailer doesn't run at 60fps on my phone, but I'm excited about this game and am sure the devs have got it running perfectly.
I hope this pool game is better than all the others on switch
So far I can't find a good one
I've been waiting for this one for ages so had forgotten all about it but happy to see it coming out and that's a very generous pre-order discount. @Mirage-5x5 I think it's definitely going to be the best pool game on the Switch
I hope the HD rumble gets utilised.
My mate and I could get some beers in, music on in the background and with this we can do our best to replicate the pub experience during lockdown. I might pre-order
I have been waiting for this since it was first announced, i loved hustle kings on the vita and this looks even better than that was so i will definitely be pre-ordering this
@Magonigal
I hope so
This looks so much better than Snooker 19. Might get this!
Reminds me of Jimmy White's Snooker, or Archer McLean's Pool on the Amiga (which is a good thing). As mentioned further up the comments, the aim assist makes it look far too easy though; hopefully it can be turned off.
I played a ridiculous amount of hours of this, elsewhere. On the Switch? I’m in!
It's by the same people who made Hustle Kings on the PS4 which was a great pool game. Will be interesting to compare the snooker side of it with Snooker 19, which i own
I'll definitely be picking this up on preorder. I've been waiting forever for an awesome pool game on the switch. And even though I already own this on ps4, I really love it, and need some handheld pool to chill with.
Is there local multiplayer?
Sense the Switch is also a handheld maybe it should be called Pocket Pool?
