Re: Three New Nintendo 3DS Bundles Heading to Europe on 26th June

Flopsy86

Got a N3DS XL about 2 weeks ago and I'm happy with the metallic blue colour except for the fact that it's a fingerprint magnet!
Got Omega Ruby anyway and I didn't want the regular size model so these bundles would not have interested me anyway.

They look like really nice bundles though, too bad there's no price listed.

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th May (Europe)

Flopsy86

@themylesfoale

Because it's Bank Holiday and Nintendo UK haven't released the pricing apparently, we know what is available because Nintendo of Europe have done their release.

I know Kirby will be £34.99 (down to £31.99 with 10% discount from owning any other download Kirby title)
and Yoshi's Island DS will be £7.99 (in line with other DS prices)

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th May (Europe)

Flopsy86

Yoshi's Island DS, Kirby is preordered from Gameseek and Shin Megami Tensei Discount.
Also hoping to pick up both of the Fire Emblem GBA games which have been out for ages already but just dropping that in there!

Re: Poll: With Races Won and Cups Collected, How Do You Rate Mario Kart 8's DLC Pack 2?

Flopsy86

Voted for Ribbon Road, but Cheese Land and Baby Park were close seconds. Ribbon Road looks beautiful on this game, I love racing on it and the remixed music sounds great. My favourite from the first pack is SNES Rainbow Road and I liked the music on that also so there is a trend there.

Least favourite is Neo Bowser City but I knew I'd hate that track when it was announced. I like Big Blue, Animal Crossing, Bell Subway and Wild Woods, but I enjoy the retro tracks even more.

Re: Here's The First Round Of Songs Confirmed For Guitar Hero Live

Flopsy86

Only heard of Ed Sheeran, Of Monsters and Men and Biffy Clyro out of all these, don't particularly like any of them but then again I wasn't so much into the songs on the original Guitar Hero game on PS2 back in 2005 and on playing the game over and over, the songs all grew on me.

Maybe the same may happen here but definitely won't happen with the Ed Sheeran song! Like how they have shown a mixed bag of songs from different difficulty levels aswell.
Hopefully better songs/artists get revealed at a later date because this first reveal is not too hopeful.

Re: Preview: Unraveling the Truth in Yoshi's Woolly World

Flopsy86

@Tisteg80 I only just started collecting amiibos a few months back, I do have the Super Mario wave Yoshi but I got that amiibo for Mario Party 10's amiibo party so I wouldn't be able to use it with another game anyway without deleting the MP10 data so it's not so bad for me having to get another Yoshi amiibo, the yarn one looks great quality anyway and can't wait to get it.

Re: Preview: Unraveling the Truth in Yoshi's Woolly World

Flopsy86

@Tisteg80 @Tsurii897
The Smash or Super Mario wave Yoshi amiibos apparently won't work with this game, it was mentioned around the time of the Yarn Yoshi preorders I believe.
I've preordered one of the yarn Yoshis anyway

Still looking forward to this game immensely

Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 Available to Download Right Now

Flopsy86

Having played 200cc on every track, majority of tracks are ok still for me. Some terrible tracks on 200cc for me are Wario Stadium, Wii U Rainbow Road, Dragon Driftway to name a few.

The DLC is great, can't stand Koopa City though but I never liked it in MK7.
Ribbon Road, Baby Park and Animal Crossing are great.
Big Blue, Subway and Wild Woods are growing on me.
I feel Cheese Land is wildly too different to the original, they've taken the mice off the track from GBA original and put Chain Chomps in, don't understand that switch. I still like the track but it's hard for it to feel nostalgic, and it's a bit disappointing to someone who likes Super Circuit.

Played a bit of online in 200cc and I sucked at it so I need more practice. This is despite the fact that I race as lightweight Toadette!

Re: Video: Check Out the Surprising Complexity of Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition

Flopsy86

@kobashi100

This put me off in the demo also, it just seems like the game was telling me I suck at this. It was punishing and it made me quit the demo.
I haven't stopped caring about this game though and I will give the demo another chance when I can give it more attention because it feels like you get a wall of text thrown at you and it's too much to take in.
Might be able to get the hang of it now I can go back and read that wall of text again after experiencing the gameplay. I can figure out where I'm going wrong maybe.

Re: Tales of More Wave Four Super Smash Bros. amiibo Pre-Order Woes and Cancellations Emerge

Flopsy86

Well there goes my Green yoshi yarn amiibo I guess, I preordered that with Shopto last week.
They haven't sent me anything to hint that it will be cancelled but after reading this, I guess that doesn't mean much as you only seem to find out the day after it has supposedly been despatched.

I was a bit late preordering mine and only the green one was available when I got there so that means I may be at the bottom of the pile for preorders aswell.
If I don't get it in the end then it's not the end of the world, I'll just do without and I'll put it down to Shopto's and Nintendo's loss and not mine.

Re: Yoshi's Woolly World Yarn amiibo Now Available for Pre-Order on the Nintendo UK Store

Flopsy86

Have a Shopto preorder for the green yoshi and I'm happy with that.

I also jumped on the £25 preorder price of the game at gameseek, this price has recently crept up close to £27 but is still really cheap.

I don't see any advantage to having all the Yoshi amiibo for this game unless I'm missing something, if there's no reason to have all 3 then just having one out of the 3 is fine with me.

I'm getting an amiibo for this game but not bothering with any of the Splatoon amiibo, I'd rather get that game and see whether it's any good before investing in it. I realise that is not smart given the stock issues with amiibos in general but even if I can't get an amiibo for Splatoon, I'll just have to make do with what I've got as I refuse to pay way over the odds.

Re: Rumour: More Super Smash Bros. Code Digging Points to Five Planned DLC Characters and Seven Stages

Flopsy86

The fact that there could be DLC stages has caught my interest.

I don't play Smash enough to justify buying the characters, only break it out when I have company but stages are good enough to purchase because it will add enjoyment to those occasions.
Obviously I'd buy the characters if someone in my clique would use that character a lot but that's not the case with Mewtwo or Lucas.

Re: Review: A-Train 3D: City Simulator (3DS eShop)

Flopsy86

Yikes, quite a lot of discussion here.

Having not bought the game still, I'm excited about getting it now. I was in the mindset that I should wait for a eShop sale but I don't want to do that now. I'd rather buy now just so I can stop thinking about whether I should buy it or not and support the people who developed this great game.

I really wish there were more in depth Simulation/Management games available on Wii U and 3DS. I know they are on PC mainly but I'm more of a handheld gamer, console games don't get much attention from me until I'm off work for a few days.

Re: Guitar Hero Live Won't Work With Your Old Gear Or DLC, Won't Be A Yearly Series

Flopsy86

This announcement makes it more likely that I'd pick up the Wii U version of this game.
I did have a lot of GH DLC and GH games on the Xbox 360 but given that this is a fresh start for the franchise then I guess all that is irrelevant.

Not surprised that the old DLC won't work on this anyway, they did delist the whole lot on all consoles about a year ago now. Be a bit hard to relicense it all now.

Bit worried about the 2015 release date though, this game will have to be rushed out to keep that promise.

Re: Marvel at the Launch Trailer, Live Music and Tracks of Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2

Flopsy86

It's like Nintendo had been reading what we wanted for this DLC.
Cheese Land and Ribbon Road were demanded so much by a lot of people, or maybe just GBA tracks in general and we get 2 in this DLC bringing the count to 3. Ribbon Road will be ideal for anti grav aswell.
Baby Park being confirmed goes down well with me, favourite track by far from DD and the fact that it is 7 laps is crucial, laps are going to be only around 15-20 seconds long.
No opinion on the 3DS Koopa City track, I haven't played MK7 enough to know this one but it looked good from what I remembered and it's quite challenging as there are no sides on the track in the tricky areas.
Bell Subway must have been the so called "Metro" track from that DLC code which produced Baby Park and Koopa City rumours. It's nice to have another track which you have to avoid hazards.
Wild Woods is welcome, just glad this track didn't turn out to be Wii Maple Treeway, not a fan of that track.
And that F Zero track, wow that track is going to be fun, guess it's there to help launch the 200cc mode.

Re: Turn It Up To Eleven, Guitar Hero Is Making A Glorious Comeback On Wii U

Flopsy86

Happy that this is announced for Wii U but this new GH looks so underwhelming compared to how RB4 will end up.

If this is definitely a separate venture as opposed to all the previous GH games on PS2-3/360/Wii then I guess I could see myself buying into this.

However I have also lost confidence in Activision because when they took over the GH franchise at the GH3 stage they effectively ran it into the ground, I liked the majority of the games that came out when they were rushing them out and their last game GH Warriors of Rock was a very good game I felt and it was very much a step in the right direction.

Re: Those Yoshi's Woolly World Yarn amiibo Are Up for Pre-Order in the UK, and They're Pricey

Flopsy86

Preordered the game from Gameseek.co.uk, thanks for the heads up on the £25 pricetag @CTs_Lieutenant
You have to pay for the preorder in full in advance though, at least I had to but I had the money anyway.
I ordered the 3rd party Wii U gamecube controller adapter from them recently and it was delivered promptly and I got points to redeem against this preorder.
....and Preordered the Green Yoshi amiibo from Shopto but depending on how I feel about the amiibo purchase price, I may or may not cancel this preorder between now and release. Just wanted to lock in my preorder before the stock runs out.
Those on the fence about Shopto, I've used them for years and haven't had issues with them, I'd recommend them. I use Paypal with them, I think they have my card details aswell but they must be way out of date now.

Re: Rumour: Upcoming Mario Kart 8 DLC to Include Baby Park and Neo Bowser City

Flopsy86

@Grumblevolcano I agree there, Super Circuit should get more attention, some of the tracks on that game were very good and people would appreciate Super Circuit more if they were able to play MK8 multiplayer on a few more of them, Mario Circuit GBA is very popular online already.
Super Circuit suffered because of its lack of multiplayer accessibility which was only through link cable at the time.
The Wii U VC one has no multiplayer at all aswell, speaking of which Europe are still waiting for this. I'm hoping it comes out around this time but then again GBA VC seems to have stopped very recently and focus has shifted to N64 and DS.
I wouldn't be disappointed if there were more re-released tracks this time but it's just that this will most likely be the last chance that we'll see new MK tracks for a good while after this, I don't see there being more MK8 tracks after this DLC.

Re: Rumour: Upcoming Mario Kart 8 DLC to Include Baby Park and Neo Bowser City

Flopsy86

Would love it if Baby Park made it into the roster for DLC2, one of my favourite DD tracks.

Would be nice also if a large proportion of this DLC is not rehashed/re-released tracks from previous Mario Kart games. I like re-released tracks but not when they pretty much take over DLC packs when new tracks could be there instead.
DLC pack 1 had 4 new tracks I believe so hope there's at least 4 new tracks in this one so there should be 3 new tracks we're yet to hear about.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th April (Europe)

Flopsy86

Puzzle and Dragons demo for me. A Train Simulator has got me interested also as I like Sim games.
My eyes are more on the MK8 DLC next week though, details have been lacking there unless I haven't noticed anything revealed other than the Animal Crossing track.

@Grumblevolcano I downloaded Luxor when it was on sale last month and Club Nintendo gave me 200 stars for that, not all 3rd party download titles give 50 stars it seems.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 1st April

Flopsy86

@Quorthon @Yorumi
Yes amiibo Party in MP10 is locked to anyone who doesn't own a compatible amiibo. You need to scan the amiibo to be able to access the mode on the menu.
You don't need every single amiibo to be able to play all the amiibo boards though, just one amiibo grants you access to all the boards when you unlock that board's token.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Turns to Classics, DLC and amiibo to Keep Fans Hooked

Flopsy86

Loved the N64 VC games breaking onto the Wii U, also liked that a new title was introduced DK64. I'm hoping this isn't the last N64 VC title we'll see that isn't already on the Wii shop.
Mario Party 3 is ripe for a VC release given that Mario Party 2 was already done on the Wii VC.
Paper Mario 64 is confirmed aswell, finished that game recently on the Wii VC but I'll still upgrade, the game is just that awesome. I want my friends to see this awesome game and not have it hidden away in Wii mode.

200cc on MK8 was a shocking surprise but welcome with me. Loved the Animal Crossing MK8 track footage. Partner liked the sound of the new Animal Crossing 3DS title using NFC reader when I told her about it.

Splatoon and Yoshi Woolly World are looking better and better by the day. Wondering if my Super Mario wave Yoshi amiibo will even be remotely usable in Woolly World now with those new Yarn amiibos.
The amiibo features in Splatoon don't really interest me but the gameplay looks awesome nonetheless.

DS VC games are good although I'm not happy with the lack of Lefty support again. Did it in Pikmin 3 and yet again there is not a left friendly option on screen settings. Strong first 2 titles in Europe there, Mario Kart DS I had a hankering to play recently and the classic Warioware touched, still have the DS cart for that but got it free anyway from the promotion.

I suppose there will be the new Wii U game reveals at E3, there's not much point giving too much away at this point.

Re: Nintendo DS And Nintendo 64 Games Finally Coming To The Wii U Virtual Console

Flopsy86

I'm going to be the 3rd person to say this now but please please release Mario Party 3 on VC soon.
Although one thing did come to mind when I said that, what controllers would be compatible with MP3 VC if it happens. On Wii for Mario Party 2, you could use Gamecube controllers (out of the question) and Classic controllers connected to Wii Motes, if I can use Classic controllers then I'm ok for 4 player but otherwise I'm hoping they don't opt for Wii U Pro Controllers.

@Reverandjames I'm not having that problem, it's offering me £1.79 for the upgrade but I only bought it on Wii Shop 3 days ago (What are the odds!?)

I've got a question about the free game offer, I'm interested in buying all 4 games on Europe's eshop which are SM64, DK64, Warioware and Mario Kart DS but one of them will be an upgrade. Will I still get a free download in that case.
I only ask because there is one scenario where I will have to pay more than the other 3 scenarios, ie. being forced to have SM64 as my free game.

Re: Talking Point: That Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door 3DS Rumour Looks Fake, But Do You Want it to be True?

Flopsy86

Picked this up on the GC a couple of months back, I never understood where my original copy back in the GC era got to. I managed to pick it up for £35 in an Ebay auction so it's about the price of a full price game nowadays if you're lucky.

Anyone who hasn't played this Paper Mario and liked the N64 one, you MUST play it.
The N64 Paper Mario is still on the Wii N64 VC right now, it's the only reason I got to play it, it was far cheaper than picking up the N64 cartridge.

I've bought Sticker Star on 3DS just this week, I know it's going to be a disappointing game from what I read as no one has said anything good about it but I'm going to make it my goal to finish that game. Make of that what you will lol.

Re: Interview: Nintendo and Nd Cube on Bowser, amiibo and the Pure Luck of the Dice in Mario Party 10

Flopsy86

It's nice to hear from the developers after a few Mario Party games from them. They provide a reasonable excuse for keeping the car mechanic, although I don't hate it anyway.

amiibo party does feel like a classic Mario Party experience anyway and I don't care about the board size because you can constantly change the 4 individual corners of the board during play. Nd Cube could have just as easily decided to not implement this mode and gone with some other sort of amiibo functionality instead.
I might be a bit biased though because I have 7 compatible amiibos out of the possible 9.

Overall MP10 has been an enjoyable experience for me and I've only ever played it with no more than 2 human players. To be honest, I can't wait to play it with more than 2 players!
I'd like to thank Nd Cube for this game rather than complain about it.

MP:Island Tour was ok for me, some of the boards are enjoyable. The mini star collecting one and the Bowser board are good concepts, other than that, the game is bad. Got it as a free game anyway in that free game promotion last year.

Re: Review: Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (3DS)

Flopsy86

Recently embarked into the Harvest Moon franchise but I thought it would be best to try the HM VC titles on GBC and SNES, it was about £10 for both and while they are good games, they aren't for me.

At least I only spent £10 to find out.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th March (Europe)

Flopsy86

@ottospooky I don't play many JRPGs at the moment. Back when I played on 360 and PS3, I was into the Tales of series, Hyperdimension Neptunia and FFXIII.
I probably will pick Shin Megami up, I have a massive backlog on 3DS at the moment. Do you know if this can be played in short bursts? I ask because I usually play on breaks at work and usually have to put the game down at a moment's notice, it would be nice to be able to save on the spot without putting 3DS in sleep mode.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th March (Europe)

Flopsy86

Never come across the Shin Megami franchise before but it looks like the sort of game I'd enjoy. £8.99 is a steal for that title after doing some research into it.

Still waiting on GBA Mario Kart Super Circuit in Europe!

Re: Review: Mario Party 10 (Wii U)

Flopsy86

Online for a game which would last 30 or more minutes won't work, I don't see anybody staying until the end unless they are 1st or 2nd. 3rd and 4th would most probably rage quit by the end of the first 10 minutes leaving CPUs.
Minigames only would work but not the entire game format.
MK8 and SSB are good online games because they are quick fire matches which last a few minutes tops.

This game looked good initially for me but Bowser Party has been watered down so much. There are only 5 boards, the lowest amount on any Mario Party to date, yes there is amiibo party boards but that is technically locked DLC content and that shouldn't be included in the count. 6 boards tops if you got the amiibo bundle.

At least the gameplay overall has improved since MP9, they've sorted battles and made them more worth playing, they take 5 mini stars from each player instead of 3. 2 vs 2 games are back which were greatly missed in MP9. Spin spaces are gone but they weren't so great.
I like the whole Bowser behind bars thing in the standard MP10 mode, it would actually be nice to play some boards and not have Bowser come along at the end and ruin it for the one in first place like he always did in MP9 (in my experience). Yes you get Bowser Jr instead if he doesn't break out but surely he's not as bad!

They've changed enough from MP9 in my opinion to make this game fresh and different.

Still holding out for DLC on this game, it would be nice if DLC did come out for this, it could use a board content boost

Re: Poll: Which 2015 Nintendo Blockbusters Should Have amiibo Support?

Flopsy86

What they've done in Mario Party 10 with amiibos is very good, I'll have every MP10 compatible amiibo except Rosalina by release assuming nothing goes wrong with my Toad and Yoshi Super Mario wave preorders.

Only just started collecting amiibos recently due to MP10's compatibility and I can see why they have collectible value aswell because they really are well made figures. It's a collector's paradise and due to the lack of stock, it's a scalper's paradise aswell!

As I'm only getting MP10, Splatoon, Mario Maker and Yoshi's Woolly World out of this year's releases, it would be nice if at least one of these games would have amiibo support. It Mario Maker or Yoshi WW do then I know I'll most likely have all the compatible ones anyway

Re: Nintendo Unleashes Commercials and Minigame Videos for Mario Party 10

Flopsy86

That second video about amiibo party reveals a bit more, it's like it had been suspected by a few on here including myself.
If you have more than 1 amiibo then you can use more than 1 amiibo and other players can pick other amiibos and use them simultaneously in the same game and they can also have their special amiibo abilities also and like @Nintyman says it will create segmented boards where it will be quarter Toad, quarter Yoshi, quarter Bowser and quarter Peach for example.

It does explain why you can't play as characters who don't have an amiibo in that mode aswell ie. Toadette, Spike, Daisy and Waluigi.

Amiibo party is turning out to be a hidden gem in this game for me, the possibilities in that game are almost endless given that what amiibo characters people pick can ultimately affect the game.

I knew there was a good reason to try and pick up all of the amiibos for this game. Still can't get Rosalina without paying way over the odds though (shame really because it is my bro's favourite character!)

Re: Weirdness: eBay Trolls amiibo Fans With Gold Mario Tweet

Flopsy86

@JaxonH

Couldn't say it better myself!

It amazes me how high these Gold Mario amiibo auctions have rose to, I've seen some top $700 this week and they were just the ones I happened to add to my watch list so I could see what they closed at.

It's not really that bad that ebay made that tweet, although I really don't see them drumming up much business from writing that. Majority are just going to see the price of that listing and think "err no!" and never return.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off Mario Party 10, amiibo and Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars in Japan

Flopsy86

@Jetset I wish more people would embrace the newer MP gameplay aswell, seems like the car mechanic and everyone moving together is everyone's biggest gripe nowadays. I don't mind MP9 and I'm actually looking forward to MP10, they're bringing back DK and Toadette.
The series has to evolve somehow and they have brought the car mechanic in to appeal to more people, Mario Parties 6-8 were unbelievably long games. MP9, you finish a game in 30-45 mins, if you feel it's too short then play another map, that way you have 2 winners, or the same winner twice lol.
Amiibo Party and Bowser Party look good and they are nice additions if you want to mix it up.

Re: 3DS Browser Exploit Hackers Bypass Pokémon Shuffle Microtransactions

Flopsy86

Just reached level 129 playing the game the free way.

The game does start to get harder around this stage and I have had to use some coins to clear some of the tougher levels although they were coins that I'd accumulated from clearing levels.
They give you a free jewel after each mega battle for crying out loud and I have about 10 of them now, this would not make me want to spend money on this game if I've got about £5 worth of jewels from just playing with paying.

I think it's quite sad that someone has gone out of their way to hack this free to play game, there's not much point in it and it's sure to get Nintendo's attention because this time they will be losing money for it.
