Re: The Pokémon Creative Team Has Been "Through A Lot" With Angry Fan Feedback

The age of the internet is where the most immature middle schooler can reach out and threaten people that are working hard 8 hours a day via Twitter. Sure, the internet can be a great place but it gets too toxic too often, especially in recent years.

I‘d like to know what it would be like if we turned the whole thing off for a week. I guess we had millions of people hanging themselves because they wouldn‘t know what to do with themselves or feel irrelevant etc.

Super Mario Odyssey was a stellar installment and wherever they go with the series I hope they keep the tight and fun controls they had. That‘s basically my only wish because going back to Galaxy I realized how much I missed things like the dive jump there.

We, the consumers are one big part of the problem if not the biggest one. Everything needs to be mass-produced these days and of course it has to be cheap. There inevitably have to be shortcomings, you cannot put out high quality games like say Mario Odyssey every year. Yet people will scream for sequels as soon as a new game comes out.

We have to understand that we are living in the fastest times, ever. Your phone which I‘d argue plays a big role in this, gives you a social life, entertainment, shopping and basically everything you need in a few seconds. I would say that leads to you wanting more and more of the good stuff but in a shorter time. Quality however, needs time. And if we don‘t want to burn ourselves out and want to live in a healthy working environment in the future we will have to change our consumption habits at some point and get back to some form of contentment.

Well, it‘s your fault if you spend the money on it, isn‘t? If you think it‘s a rip-off, simply don‘t buy it, that‘s the point that you probably missed. If you‘re that much of an N64 or MegaDrive enthusiast you probably found a way to play these games years ago.
Nobody really needs this, they just want it. It seems to be a common thing of societey these days that everybody wants everything but they don‘t want to pay for it.

Still not sure what that flaw is supposed to be though. Admittedly, I would have loved to see more of Ruined Kingdom after fighting that dragon but apart from that I feel that the overall length is just right.

An example of too much content for me would be Crash 4, if you‘ve played that one. They have so many great ideas and they did implement them well, but stages feel too long for my taste. The box count is just so over the top and some of them are so 'well' hidden that at some point I didn‘t even bother to collect them all, anymore. Then of course you have time trials where you have to complete the whole thing in one go, which basically means you have to learn these long as levels by heart.
I don‘t know, since gaming has become more of a secondary hobby for me nowadays I guess I don‘t want to invest so much time in it anymore. That‘s where a game like SMO works so wonderfully because it gives you a complete and polished experience without having to sit down for hours to get your gaming fix.

Just curious, what would you call your favorite 3D Mario game then? I don‘t recall any of them to feature more exploration elements or significantly more difficulty than Odyssey. Galaxy 1 and 2 had rather linear level design and Sunshine and 64 weren‘t as expansive either. I‘d agree that one or two kingdoms wouldn‘t have hurt, though. But still, I‘d rather have less kingdoms that are fleshed out instead of dozens that feel unfinished.

It‘s the only 3D Mario game I go back to beside Mario 64. Every jump feels so natural and even after a million jumps it is still fun to wahoo through the landscape.
Story-wise, the whole trip you take just feels like a movie that stays original while giving us just the right amount of fan service.
With Odyssey, they proved what they are capable of after all these years and I think it‘s going to be near impossible to top it.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online's N64 Games Will Be 60Hz In Europe After All

I got myself an NTSC N64 that was modded to have RGB output. When playing Mario 64 or Mario Kart 64 it honestly didn‘t feel any different to the PAL-versions I was used to. Maybe you’d notice the difference playing it side to side but it really isn‘t that big of an issue in my opinion. Your brain adapts to it in no time.

Hey NL, I think you should consider that affiliate links on such terrible games are disabled. Obviously, it must be part of your deal with Amazon to include one in every review - but it kinda feels out of place here

I‘d say the exact same thing about Sonic and those games aren‘t even half as polished as Mario games. Fans will always want more, be it music, games or movies.
And honestly, as long as they‘re quality games I‘ll keep buying them. As a kid I really loved Crash Bandicoot but Twinsanity felt like an isult to me so I stopped caring about the franchise.
