I think you should take takedowns a bit more personal - and then go: "F- it, I‘m making my own game, so I don‘t have to deal with all this crap." The experience people gain in the process of making these games is what counts, anyway. And yes, of course it‘s nice to have a finished product and release it to the public. If you‘re using someone else‘s intellectual property without permission though you have to be aware that it will eventually get taken down. If I did a cover of Highway To Hell and release it on Soundcloud it wouldn‘t take long until I get striked for copyright. That‘s simply how it works.
I think the game kinda looks too bright. And looking back at it they‘d really have to do more than a simple remaster because it does look kind of emtpy. Given the many license issues they‘d have to overcome in order to make a reamster/remake I honestly doubt it will ever happen. It was a fine game though (d‘oh).
I stopped playing Tony Hawk games after Underground 2 and I‘d have to agree that its soundtrack was amazing. And I‘d really add any Tony Hawk game before it as well. The good old days where trouble was far away.
Interesting article! I‘d have to go with "Brinstar: Red Soil" from Super Metroid. That melody at the end of the loop and that little break afterwards will never cease to be satisfying for me. The Prime 2 counterpart would probably be second.
I wasn‘t sure at first, if I was going to buy it but decided to do so. And it is awesome! Really enjoying it so far and I gotta say that I really miss classic dungeons. Hope they will include some in BOTW2.
I‘ve played only 20 minutes into the game and the QoL improvements are already a huge step up. Now I want TP with motion controls (like the other 1% on earth).
Well, you can‘t deny that there‘s a resemblence to the latest Yoshi games. Even the collectibles kinda look the same. But if it‘s a good game it‘s a good game, I guess.
When I was a real Nintendo fanboy at the age of 14, I loved stuff like people destroying Playstations. Brings back memories: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xn443c5qI48
I guess the price of remasters will be a discussion that‘s going to persist for decades. I mean, there‘s definately two sides to it: on the one hand you have remasters like the N Sane Trilogy which basically redid three games from the ground up and charge you 40 bucks and then there‘s Skyward Sword which definately has a lot of welcome improvements but charges you 60. For me, most Nintendo games are worth their price. I can‘t count how many hours me and my friends put into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and that one was essentially a port as well. You will find very good games on other platforms but it’s hard to deny that there is always a little bit more polish and attention to detail in Nintendo games, so yeah. If you want premium, you pay premium, I guess.
The throwing in the bin part is definately a tough one to ignore, but the cartridge color? How do people even notice that? Guess there is a furious nerd for literally anything waiting for his time on twitter.
Maybe he‘s waiting for someone to arrive in a couple of minutes? No one pointed that out yet. Pretty sure I sat on the stairs next to our entrance browsing the web with my phone when awaiting someone.
Oooh boy, this is is going to get interesting here grabs popcorn
I‘m honestly glad it‘s not a New or Pro model. The switch is over 4 years old, it won‘t be long until we get its successor.
Wonder what the price will be though.
Say what you will about Illumination but they definately know a thing or two about the movie business, otherwise their franchises would not be so successful. And I think that‘s exactly what Miyamoto is saying. I think Illumination is rather providing a functioning workspace for Nintendo instead of taking the Mario-IP and turning it into a Minions-movie.
That said, I absolutely cannot imagine what the movie will be like. Sonic made it work, but Sonic has always talked a lot in games and cartoons. Then again, there‘s the Super Mario World cartoon, so who knows.
@Friendly Right? I would have guessed at least twenty thousand. Maybe that‘s the reason why they manage to keep their quality. I wonder how high salaries are for an average office worker.
Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater 3 for Gamecube (or PS2 for me) is the only answer I‘ll allow There‘s good why the remakes play exactly like 3. They perfected the game mechanics and it had an amazing soundtrack (Motörhead and CKY for example). Besides, they had some great humor in it and the time limit was just right to have it not feel boring. Also, each stage has its own unique thing going on with many things to discover and great combo possibilities. It might be a bit shorter than the following games but they just nailed it here. As a kid I preferred 4 and Underground 2 certainly is high up there (probably 2nd place) but if you want to know what the fuzz is all about with Tony Hawk games, get the third installment on Gamecube, PS2 or XBOX.
@Stubborn_Monkey Couldn‘t agree more, the fact that they hit the nail on the head with what was basically the first 3D platformer is unbelievable. It is one of my favorite games of all time because it is still so fun to play. Every game developer that makes 3D games needs to play through it at least twice (and I hope this is the case!).
So now everyone supports leakers around here? You want to give them a 100$-fine and tell them: "please do not do it again."? They knowingly stole data from a company and published it. Yes, Gamefreak is a rich company but that doesn‘t give anyone the right to leak information about their upcoming products. And I know I sound old, but If you‘re an adult you need to know that your actions have consequences and hopefully this case will show other leakers that the practice is not a trivial offense.
@dmcc0 As you said, it is always individual. Your case shows that it‘s probably impossible to call something 100 percent accessible. I guess I was going for "accessible to all demographics" because it was easy and intuitive to use for most people and thus reached a lot of people including old folks in senior homes, moms, etc.
@BranJ0 I‘d say the Wii was the most accessible home console ever made and they included a lot of tools to help players have access to their games in recent years, such as MK8‘s driving assistance and Odyssey‘s assist mode. I don‘t know if color-blindness was addressed or if that even falls in the same category but I think they put a lot effort into making sure that everyone can play their games.
Good. Influencers are the bottom of society in my opinion. Do we really need someone to tell us how we‘re supposed to feel about something? Watch the stream by yourself or with friends and you‘ll be fine.
9/12 - solid, I guess But that picture of Iwata holding the then Nintendo Revolution brings back memories. I don‘t think I have ever been as hyped again for a gaming console. I Think I still have the official pdfs you could download from their site to print out. Great times!
F*** the leakers. Imagine you‘ve been working for months for giving fans a little surprise and then there‘s one little dumbf… ruining it for some attention. I miss the days when leaking wasn‘t so big. Give 'em lawsuits up the arse and have 'em pay for their leaks for the rest of their lives.
For me, Crash Bandicoot (1-3) will always be the pinnacle of 3D-platformers on the PS1. Even though it‘s probably not possible for an indie studio, I‘d like to see someone replicate this kind of graphics because they were certainly ahead of its time and still look good today.
Game does look good but I think environments could use a little more variety.
I remember watching 2005‘s reveal of the Nintendo Revolution. God was I hyped. That sense of excitement will never come back, but I hope they pull off a decent show. The last thing that had me pretty hyped was the first Mario Odyssey trailer. Good games, good show I guess.
To me it‘s simple: There are too many FE-characters. Marth and Roy are awesome but nobody asked for the rest. Where‘s characters like Waluigi, Shy Guy, E. Gadd, etc.?
I mean it won‘t cost you a lot of money probably, and one thing that I haven‘t read about in this article is the Metroid Prime Trilogy. That alone probably justifies buying one. And Wooly World is a fine game as well.
@victordamazio
You name it, they worked hard to make them. How would you feel if someone asked you to make your creation public domain if you‘ve spent years of hard work on it? They are still alive and we are not talking about 70 years after its release but 25 years at this point in time. I don‘t see any reason why this game should be public domain anytime soon.
And it‘s not like people haven‘t used the SM64 formula in other games. It‘s not like Nintendo is sueing everbody who creates a 3D-platformer that is similiar to SM64. So the general idea was definately shared, expanded and improved on as you call it.

That‘s how times change. Back in my day, a couple of friends and I were the nerds and were even asked by the teacher to play less video games, lol.

It‘s a shame you only get Krispy Kreme in the UK and Australia, they should be available all over Europe. Original glaze is the best donut I ever ate.

Comedy gold right there, they should do an April Fool‘s with a similiar cover for a new game!
