Re: Fire Emblem If Changes The Traditional Weapons Triangle

DreamyViridi

Sounds like the weapon triangle is still there but now the weapons are sort of categorised. "Magic" is now paired with swords, bows with axes, and dark magic with lances. Most notably, bows being part of the triangle; this change will be very interesting since it'll be in effect at all times now.

Re: Review: Paper Mario (Wii U eShop / Nintendo 64)

DreamyViridi

I don't know, there's something about the original that makes me enjoy it a bit more than TTYD. Might be the lack of slightly obnoxious backtracking, that's something about TTYD that bugs me a fair bit. I can replay 64 or Sticker Star any day but TTYD not so much, and I get bored when replaying Super (it's a good game though).
Anyway, I got Paper Mario on the Wii and really enjoyed it. The Wii U release being 60Hz when it, hopefully, comes to Europe would be appreciated.

Re: Famitsu Reveals Some Fresh Details on Fire Emblem If

DreamyViridi

I'm just happy that Casual Mode is a mainstay for both versions of the game. I think I have enough FE experience to not need Phoenix Mode. Also, unlimited weapon use; interesting. Perhaps that'll be balanced out by them getting weaker and weaker the more they're used or something of the sort.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. Receives ESRB Rating For Wii U Virtual Console

DreamyViridi

I remember back when this game really WAS new and I had such a fun time the whole way through, not to mention the Mario vs. Luigi Multiplayer and the minigames. Granted, the minigames were mostly from SM64DS but there were a few new ones in there. The Mario vs. Luigi Multiplayer might've made for a cool little online feature, thinking about it.
This'll be a nice addition to the eShop for those who want to see where the "New" series started. Just don't forget not to shake the GamePad. No spin in this game.

Re: Nintendo Marketing Boss Says amiibo Expectations "Have Been Smashed", and Aims to Improve Stock Supplies

DreamyViridi

I understand that meeting all of the demand can be a matter of "easier said than done" but like I've said before, Nintendo's sitting on a gold mine here. If they could just get more stock in, profits could skyrocket. As is though, the situation's ridiculous. At midnight, Lucina and Robin were available on Amazon for £30, which I didn't like but I bit the bullet and bought 'em. Good thing too because Lucina has since doubled in price this morning and Robin's not much better. All of the Wave 4 amiibo were released today and already people are having issues getting them.
These are supposed to be for kids, right? C'mon Ninty, there's gotta be a way to make most-all of the figures accessible and not just the common ones..

Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. DLC Can Evolve the Concept of Nintendo 'Evergreen' Releases

DreamyViridi

DLC so far has been done in a fantastic way. I think Mario Kart 8 could handle one more pack, a battle pack perhaps; it's not just about racing after all! A couple of the DLC courses could work in Battle Mode and if it meant getting old school arenas in the game; all the better!

As for Smash Bros., well... we know what's happening there. Pricing could be a little lower but it's still good.

Re: Review: Yoshi Touch & Go (Wii U eShop / DS)

DreamyViridi

It's a pretty fun game imo, especially if you put an arcade mind-set into it. I played it for a good while when I first played and occasionally go back to it. However, I don't think it's worth the $10 price tag. I personally would give it a 7/10 because no, it's not a Yoshi's Island game; it's an arcade game with some challenging (how far can you go?) modes that use the Yoshi motif.
In the event of a price drop though; I'd recommend it if you had the spare change.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities

DreamyViridi

I'll be honest, the pricing felt a bit much to me only because I compare it to what you get from Mario Kart 8's DLC packs where you effectively get half of a game for a quarter of the price. It's a different story here in the case of Smash 4 but it's not like I need to buy everything anyway.

I'll definitely be buying Characters and the Smash T-Shirts for Miis but the rest I'll probably ignore for now.

Re: Don't Seethe Too Much Over Xbox One Shovel Knight Getting Battletoads, We Might Get A Cool Crossover, Too

DreamyViridi

I'm just a little bit sad that we can't consider Shovel Knight a Nintendo exclusive anymore... a little bit. I'm excited to see the console exclusive boss fights though! Maybe the PC version can have other indies crossover and Nintendo can get someone like Mario or Link in there. That said, Yacht Club Games have a lot on their plate as is; they'll do fine and pull through in the end.

Re: Feature: Tales From the Front Line of amiibo Collecting

DreamyViridi

Yeesh, these stories are something else...
I've been lucky enough to get all of the ones I'm interested in (except for King Dedede but I'm patient, I'll get him soon or later). Mario, Luigi, Wii Fit Trainer (x2), Marth, Sheik, Toon Link, Pit, Mega Man and Sonic are currently in my possession. With Lucina, Robin and Pac-Man coming up soon, actually getting these amiibos is becoming all the more harder.

Re: Talking Point: It's Time to Salute The Nintendo 3DS, Defying Early Gloom to Pass 50 Million Sales

DreamyViridi

Yes, a "Hurrah!" to the 3DS, I love it. The first year was slow but it's been fun times since; especially with additional DS, GB and GBA games to play on it. I've had it since near-launch and with one small repair job, it's still by my side. I think, of the Nintendo handhelds, I've put the most hours in the 3DS. Not sure if I'm ready to move on from it quite yet, it'll be hard when its time passes as a successor is announced. Until then though, to the 3DS! Cheers!
