Oh, thank gods. Now everyone can shut up about the Gen 3 remakes because it's officially confirmed now. Not excited for it though, cut out some of that obnoxious amount of surfing and then we'll get somewhere.
@Xtremetdifan - Someone hasn't seen what Samus looked like back in the day...
She's been like this from the get-go, in fact, she's more covered up now then before so don't even try it.
Heh heh. You can tell that they re-used Metal Mario artwork for Gold Mario there. XD
At first I wasn't interested but I rather enjoyed the demo. I'm totally going to try and get this plus DLC since the DLC cost is temporarily discounted for a bit in Europe. I typically don't like the idea of Day One DLC but you pretty much get another full game's worth of content (at half price no less) if you buy the Season Pass price in this case. I just hope that character data is actually not there as opposed to being locked or something.
@Dark-Luigi - Don't lie, you're gonna miss the Negative Zone for the dance, right?
I liked that Final Smash btw. Yeah, it didn't make sense but it was an effective Final Smash that pretty much disabled opponents defensively, leaving them wide open. With that said, I welcome this Poltergust Final Smash and absolutely can't wait to see how it works! I hope it's good! I wonder how many other veterans will have their Final Smashes change in this game...
I've always liked stages like this. The terrain is nothing to worry about but at the same time, the background isn't just there; it changes all the time. Looks great!
Really like the trailer here. The prices are reasonable enough, I was expecting double figures. The line-up is also a great start, Advance Wars and maybe Mario & Luigi would be games I'd buy first thing! As an Ambassador, I have majority of the other games. GBA's VC quality must continue into May.
@DrJoson - Not all of the ports, no. I consider Yoshi's Island GBA the superior version.
The Year of Luigi was great but all good (or in this case, awesome!) things must come to an end. Luigi deserved it, so I personally hope no-one else gets the 'year' treatment, as selfish as that sounds. I'll always be on the side of the Green 'Stache.
Throughout those races, I've ended up rivaling against a Koopa racer. I'm stopping now before I let my vengeance out! Two 2nd places overall and two 1st places overall. Great races, guys!
Yarn Yoshi should be better as that game's being made by Good-Feel. They typically make good games. As for Yoshi 3DS, well; it's a shame but at least it's mediocre than flat-out bad. If I see it on the cheap later on, I might give it a shot. That's sadly a pretty big "if" though.
Coming back, there is one thing about the Virtual Console release that's not mentioned in the review. The Vs. Mode option doesn't work. This is because that mode is a Mario vs. Luigi multiplayer thing which is similar to the Vs. Boo races but you're racing against another human player instead. While I don't mind it, when I was a child I always imagined how fun it would've been to race someone in SMB Deluxe. Does it have any functionality here?
Something to note is that both the port and the NES game are the same price, well Deluxe is 1p cheaper if you care to split hairs. With Extras like Challenge Mode, Vs. Boo races, Lost Levels, and a technical 'achievements' system; I feel Deluxe makes up for the 'small screen' problem as you get more from it. If you can call it a problem anyway, I had little issue with it as a kid (you can manually look up and down after all) and Deluxe is how I first played SMB.
On that note, the review is solid and holds true but the score (and this might be bias talking...) seems a bit harsh. If you can get the game free from the Miiverse promotion, you've no reason NOT to give this game a shot.
Meh, he's nothing special anyway... Hell, Daisy has been in more games than him. Both of them need to play a bigger part in a Mario game to get out of the 'Spin-Off fodder' role they are apparently stuck in.
No Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Buzzy Beetles, Koopa ParaTroopas, Piranha Plants, Hammer Brothers, Lakitus, Spinys, Cheep-Cheeps, Bloopers or Bullet Bills were harmed during the filming of this video. Literally.
I beat the Mario Bros. Deluxe version of this game and that's good enough for me! It took me 12 years to beat (only because I found the game years after I stopped playing and decided to give it a shot).
If anyone wants a 'challenging' old school game, then have at it!
@Bulbousaur - Close indeed! Good games guys, but I'm gonna call it a day now before the bad luck REALLY kicks in.
To those still racing or just starting, have fun and good luck!
@Damo - True, but (and this may be bias talking) I don't think it's worth the risks. Yes, it could be a good way to give such smartphone users a sample of what Nintendo is like and could attract them to Nintendo consoles but that's if the concept were to actually work out.

I'm also glad that Luigi's special year got a formal official closing as opposed to fading away. Makes it all the more special.

Nice to see Daisy getting some love and attention here. Like the animation too but Daisy, I don't think that pose suits you.

Actually, the old-style Mario art has been around for a while now.
Love the artwork. Looks like they'll continue to use the art style. Nice .
