Re: Nintendo Shows Off Its Mario Golf: World Tour DLC Courses and Characters

DreamyViridi

Heh heh. You can tell that they re-used Metal Mario artwork for Gold Mario there. XD
At first I wasn't interested but I rather enjoyed the demo. I'm totally going to try and get this plus DLC since the DLC cost is temporarily discounted for a bit in Europe. I typically don't like the idea of Day One DLC but you pretty much get another full game's worth of content (at half price no less) if you buy the Season Pass price in this case. I just hope that character data is actually not there as opposed to being locked or something.

@Dark-Luigi - Don't lie, you're gonna miss the Negative Zone for the dance, right?

I liked that Final Smash btw. Yeah, it didn't make sense but it was an effective Final Smash that pretty much disabled opponents defensively, leaving them wide open. With that said, I welcome this Poltergust Final Smash and absolutely can't wait to see how it works! I hope it's good! I wonder how many other veterans will have their Final Smashes change in this game...

Re: Nintendo of Europe Confirms Upcoming Game Boy Advance Wii U Virtual Console Releases

Really like the trailer here. The prices are reasonable enough, I was expecting double figures. The line-up is also a great start, Advance Wars and maybe Mario & Luigi would be games I'd buy first thing! As an Ambassador, I have majority of the other games. GBA's VC quality must continue into May.

@DrJoson - Not all of the ports, no. I consider Yoshi's Island GBA the superior version.

Yarn Yoshi should be better as that game's being made by Good-Feel. They typically make good games. As for Yoshi 3DS, well; it's a shame but at least it's mediocre than flat-out bad. If I see it on the cheap later on, I might give it a shot. That's sadly a pretty big "if" though.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (3DS eShop)

Coming back, there is one thing about the Virtual Console release that's not mentioned in the review. The Vs. Mode option doesn't work. This is because that mode is a Mario vs. Luigi multiplayer thing which is similar to the Vs. Boo races but you're racing against another human player instead. While I don't mind it, when I was a child I always imagined how fun it would've been to race someone in SMB Deluxe. Does it have any functionality here?

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (3DS eShop)

Something to note is that both the port and the NES game are the same price, well Deluxe is 1p cheaper if you care to split hairs. With Extras like Challenge Mode, Vs. Boo races, Lost Levels, and a technical 'achievements' system; I feel Deluxe makes up for the 'small screen' problem as you get more from it. If you can call it a problem anyway, I had little issue with it as a kid (you can manually look up and down after all) and Deluxe is how I first played SMB.

On that note, the review is solid and holds true but the score (and this might be bias talking...) seems a bit harsh. If you can get the game free from the Miiverse promotion, you've no reason NOT to give this game a shot.
