Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Fatal Fury Special (SNES)

DonierGunad

It's the NA/European cover for me. I'm just surprised it had Dolby Surround sound to be honest. That's something new I learnt to today. I've still got my cart that me and brothers clubbed together to buy (we all did house hold chores for months to get the money together). I might have to put this on and test out the surround sound.

Re: Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Represents A Turning Point For Switch 2

DonierGunad

I don't think the flood gates will open, but I do think 3rd parties would look at building games from the ground up, like borderlands 4 has done (jury is still out on wether it'll be much kop). It's all about sales, I'm definitely buying all 3 resident evils on the Switch 2. Now if we could just get 2, 3 and 4 remakes (with original 2&3 PS1 games) I'd be over the moon. Not realistic, but I can dream.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)

DonierGunad

@XE77 That's really cool your playing Eternal Darkness. Funnily enough I dusted off my GameCube to play that exact game. It's such a great game!!

This weekend will be

Cyberpunk 2077
Eternal Darkness
Trails in the sky the 1st chapter remake
Deamon X Machina
XCX definitive edition

To be honest I need to stick with one game, I have far to many in the back log and so many games that are close completion that I just need to get them done.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th September)

DonierGunad

Daemon X Machina titanic scion. Read the review, played the demo, loved the game, full game is on the card, totally loving it, flaws an all. I'm not saying it's acceptable that it's in the condition it's in, however, I'm very much in love with the game and Switch 2 is my preferred platform over PS5 pro as I travel all over the country (the UK) for work. I hope for a patch that will sort out the issues, but to be fair and like I said, I'm in love with game. So my list is

Legend of Zelda TotK
XCX definitive edition and
Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion

And I couldn't be happier.

Re: Preview: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion - A Smart Evolution For Mech Fans, And A Good Early Test For Switch 2

DonierGunad

Been playing the demo for 3 hours. I'm so in!! I couldn't get on with the first game, it was more to do with me than the game itself to be honest. This game though I seem to have a handle on it. I love the open worldish sandbox you get to play in, the mining for material, the farming you can do on immortals. I hope they sort out the soundtrack, you have brief periods of no music and then the same soundtrack will start playing. I've pre-ordered the game now for launch. I'm looking forward to just exploring the different biomes and customising my Arsenal. It's right up my street and just the game I was looking for to rejuvenate my love for gaming again!! The comparison with monster hunter is quite spot on (as far getting materials goes). I suggest those that are on the fence to give the demo a go, it's really good!!

Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2

DonierGunad

Played the demo last night. Had an absolute blast. In keeping with the trends, I'm going to suggest no Key card release only physical. I've seen alot of people talk about rhe fairy....I'm quite partial to it, but the option to switch that off would be good for those that don't want it. The weapon and fairy wheel could do with a bit of work, I found that a bit fiddley. I'm not bored of HD-2D I still love the art style. I like team Asano games so I will support them with this, as long as a physical release is involved.

Re: Video: Switch 2 And Steam Deck Face Off In Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmark Test

DonierGunad

I've got Cyberpunk 2077 for the Switch 2 and in all honesty. I'm very happy with performance of , it doesn't have any game breaking performance issues and I think it's a technical marvel the game runs on it. Infact my time with game has increased compared to when I was playing the game on PS5 (I've pumped another 80 hours in 6 weeks compared to the 70 hours I had the game since 2023 on PS5). I hope those that enjoy these video, enjoy it, but for me I'm not really fussed about steam deck/switch 2 comparisons.

Re: Poll: Switch 2 Battery Reportedly Lasting Under Two Hours With Mario Kart - How Is Yours Holding Up?

DonierGunad

I can't say anything about MK world, but I know after a 2 hour session on Cyberpunk 2077, ot goes down to around 57% from 100% percent charge. Which I find quite impressive considering how demanding the game can be. Bravely default however I can get 4-5 hours and only use 30% on a full charge, hardly surprising with that game to be honest. I don't play it to often without a charger attached to be fair.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Mario Kart World Tech Review - "Nintendo's Artistry Stands Out The Most Here"

DonierGunad

I'm getting mario kart world at the of the month. I've invited my mates over (all 2 of them), my brothers and there kids for a good old fashioned mario kart competition. Smash Bros ultimate is also on the list and for the grown ups in the evening, Perfect dark, golden eye, Soul Calibur 2 and MK64. I'm so looking forward to it!! I haven't had a game blow out in years (being a single Dad means I don't get much time to be social personally, not that I'm complaining and being a girl dad I've got do my best to be both here).

Re: Poll: So, Did You Order A Nintendo Switch 2?

DonierGunad

I pre-ordered my Switch 2 and got Cyberpunk 2077 and bravely default flying fairy. I'll be able to play it this Saturday as I'm at work tomorrow and Friday. So I'm looking forward to sinking some more hours in Cyberpunk come the weekend!! I can already see it being my most played game after XcX this year at least. I'm also looking forward to FF7 remake and I just hope they have a cross save feature, though I'm not expecting it!!

Re: US Retailers Are Playing With Fire With More Switch 2 Cancellations

DonierGunad

Personally I'm grateful I got an invite from Nintendo UK pre-order mine. They took the money for it on the 23rd of May, so I know my order is secure. I feel for those over the pond and in the UK for having there pre-order cancelled. I hope it all get fixed in time for launch, you deserve better!!. I didn't pre-order mario kart world, I actually pre-ordered cyberpunk 2077 instead. As ridiculous as it sounds, it was that announcement that sold me on getting a Switch 2 at launch. I'm hoping CD Projekt Red are going to do a Witcher 3 update for the Switch 2. I love to support them with my money.

Re: Feature: Farewell, Nintendo Switch - It's Finally Time To Bid Our Old Friend 'Adieu'

DonierGunad

I still play my original family bought Nes, Snes. My own N64 that I bought back in 1998 with paper round money, My launch day GC, Wii and Wii U. Playing videogames on original hardware is the best imo. If you take care of your videogames and consoles they can last a long time. It's the same with my PlayStation consoles. It's a privilege to be able to afford games and games consoles, there's a lot of people out there who are not so fortunate and I've always remained grateful and humble by taking care of these luxury items I have the pleasure of still playing today. So this not good bye for me to my Switch, it's a welcome to the museum of legends as I will continue to look after for future generations of my family as they grow older, just like the other consoles I've mentioned. I'm looking forward to the Switch 2 and what unique gaming experiences it will bring. Long live the video game industry and its console manufacturers and games developers.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (31st May)

DonierGunad

@Zuljaras I didn't even know Cyber Shadow had a physical release!! That's one of my favourite games. Just ordered myself a deluxe copy from Super Rare. Thank you for sharing dude.

My games this weekend, are:

MSG 3
XCX: Definitive
Triangle stratergy
Crisis Core Final fantasy 7 and
Sea of Stars: The new dlc specifically

Re: Witcher 3 Celebrates 10 Years, Announces Mod Support For Consoles

DonierGunad

I remember picking this up for the PS4 way when, didn't know a thing about the Witcher. Now I own all 8 novels(of which I've read 3 im a slow reader) and all the games (completed) and I pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 all becasue the developer showed tike and again that they never gave up on there games and always supported them!! That's why I pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 without hesitation on Switch 2. Infact its the only game I did pre-order with my Switch 2 and the reason that sold me to pre-order a launch day Switch. I haven't bought a console on launch day since the Wii back in 2006....thank you CD Projekt Red.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Ghosting Switch 1 To Save Yourself For Switch 2?

DonierGunad

I'm still going to play my Switch 1 and the games I've been working through, as there not confirmed to be updated for Switch 2. I've left Zelda TotK for Switch 2 though, I'm near the end, so it's not really a big deal. I've stopped playing Cyberpunk 2077 at 70hrs over on PS5 as this is the launch title for me on Switch 2. Until more games get announced through back-compat, I can see my Switch 1 staying relevant.

Re: Opinion: In A Post BOTW And Elden Ring World, Xenoblade Chronicles X Is Still Daunting

DonierGunad

Xenoblade chronicles as a series is one I can really get stuck into. Personally the hardest part for me is starting out, especially with Xc2. I've so far spent 80 hours in XcX and haven't looked back, there so much to do and with every step I feel like I achieve much more. I failed ten years ago and rushed it, expecting an MMO and got disappointed when it turned out not to be that at all (I was into different games ten years ago). Now I'm ten years older I'm giving this game the love it deserves and loving every moment of it ❤️

Re: Opinion: The Switch 2 Is A Powerhouse For The Price

DonierGunad

@CheapCheepBeach the xbox series s is not not native 4K but can upscale, its not the same. Nintendo switch 2 is capable of running native 4K60. That doesn't mean games will run at 4K60, but it has the capabilities. Your entitled criticise, but I can remember Snes games ranging from £40 to £60. The hardware is reasonably priced and I feel Nintendo have balanced, performance and price in a very reasonable way.

Re: Digital Switch 2 Games Being Cheaper Than Physical Is A "Challenge", Says Retailer GAME

DonierGunad

It's the times. I feel this might be the last console generation where I buy a game console to he honest. Its been great having remakes/remasters,unreleased games (particularly here in the UK), even some of the new games have been fantastic. Unfortunately though, digital has been promoted throughout this current gen/split gen. Maybe because I'm "old" (I'm in my 40's), but I feel like the magic of gaming in general has just died off slowly, I never really go to the shops to buy physical either because of amazon's ease of use and my limited time working between 12 hour shifts.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Physical Edition On Switch 2 Won't Require A Download

DonierGunad

I love CD projekt red. I remember back in 2015 getting Witcher 3 for £50 quid and it came with loads of dlc, a world map, a compendium and the soundtrack!! They just went the extra mile unlike most other developers. I ended up spending 500hrs on that game (just running around). Cyberpunk 2077 has been no different, I was disappointed with the state of the release, but I got the free PS5 upgrade and haven't looked back since.

Once again they've gone the extra mile and put the full game on a cart!! Definitely a day one purchase for me.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition?

DonierGunad

Well I'm ten hours into it, after only getting the games yesterday. I played the Wii U version and pumped a good 200-300 into it, admittedly I rushed it back then to get the Skell and to add to that, I had only played XC1 one at the time, so the expectation of what XCX was going to be was quite far from the mark. Ten years later however, I've completed all 3 mainline games and there dlc and I've got to say XCX is now my second favourite after XC1. Being ten years older and having grown a deep love for the series, I can appreciate what this game is and what they achieved with Wii U hardware!! It's truly a masterpiece. The only aspect I don't like is some of the music tracks, they just, I dunno, seek out of place. Still it's a 10 from me, there is just so much to see and do in this game, that I'll be entertained for years to come!!

Re: Rumour: Zelda Live-Action Movie Will Reportedly Be Part Of A "Trilogy"

DonierGunad

If the story is based on Twilight princess then I would be very happy. Twilight princess and its story is very similar to a film released in the 1980s called lady Hawke. I wouldn't say the film would blow your socks off, but I enjoyed it, so I know it can be done. I'm glad they've chosen New Zealand, it's a beautiful country, though I do worry a bit, hopefully when they release a trailer next year, my fears will be put to rest. Fingers crossed they get it right!!
