@60frames-please I've picked it up & the main game is pretty fun. However, I mostly picked it up for Monkey Target.. which has been stripped down to nothing. I think it's only the one stage.
@JayJ Unfortunately, while NDAs are commonly associated with the workplace, they are not limited to them and have been in use for decades in product testing, sexual assault cases (inc. non-work related) and a vast range of different uses.
An NDA is just a contract, like the T&Cs you agree to when you play a game on your Switch.. you can also be sued for breaching those without being employed by the company who issued them. There are many examples of this (usually against hackers).
The "not an employee" excuse is ridiculously weak as the leaker received something of value after signing a contract & broke the contract. Period.
Personally I'm looking forward to the game, knowing the wild area is pretty big just adds to my excitement.
I remember people hating on the Switch & predicting its death well into it's first year and it's doing amazingly. I also remember Let's Go haters predicting the end of the franchise.. but the games did great.
Let the haters hate, the more noise they make the sillier they look if they're wrong.
Those two pictures aren't the same model at all.. they're similar but don't match, especially in the shape & colouring of the ears. My betting is these are a couple of different fan pictures someone is calling a leak.
Interesting event, at least it's not all about buying inc.. -cough- hatching. I wonder if we'll be able evolve the costume Pokémon? Unlikely, but Charizard in a Snorlax costume would be fun.
@TJWorks To be fair, Mimikyu is a pokemon wearing a Pikachu costume. Fair is fair.
@Heavyarms55 @Octane The age is a cultural thing, much like a lot of Japanese games mentioning the blood group of their main characters despite it seeming odd in the UK.
Personally I dont have a problem with Ash not aging, there are tonnes of characters that are meant to keep continuity that just never age, I dare say the Simpsons kids are far older than Ash at this stage. Thomas the Tank engine should be scrap metal or recycled tins of beans.
As for the new characters.. they're fine. Nothing too special.. though the young girls ponytail looks like it's made of vinyl.
When something bad happens, people look to something other than themselves, their loved ones or random chance. The lost always want somewhere to direct their pain.
Unfortunately tabloid newspapers prey upon those poor lost souls to sell poorly researched tittle tattle for cash.
Awesome, I assumed it would be optional anyway. Gamefreak are well aware of people resetting for good Pokémon & likely WANTED to announce autosave as an added extra but got caught out. Yet again they underestimated thirsty fans!
@KBuckley27 Pokémon fans only thought is was huge because an enforced autosave would potentially ruin a tradition that existed in the game for decades.. referring to get good/shiny legendaries. Outside of that, no one cares.
So just to confirm, the fun, completely functional game in the pack gets reworked & modernised for a more fun game.. but the semi broken, tough-for-all-the-wrong-reasons game is untouched?
Lovely, three weeks of hatching events draining everyone's wallet followed by attractive new gear in the style shop... Niantic is grabbing peoples cash HARD right now. Wonder what up?
@Heavyarms55 I'm not a big fan of Funko Pop myself, I only own some Steven Universe pops.. but that's mainly because buying anything Steven Universe is pretty much impossible in the UK.
I think Funk get so many licenses for one reason.. they're so cheap to make that Funko can undercut most of the figures you mention AND have cash to spare for the license holders
Nendoroid £30-£70, Funko Pop £10-£12. If a licensee can make the same return on both, they'll like choose the cheaper as more units will sell.
@607jf The article explicitly says he has live streamed million point games & provides a link to one example, so he obviously can "do it".
The problem is "when" he did it.
I'm not a fan of Ol' Evil-Eyes Mitchell, but if he does have valid evidence, he should be given a chance to provide it. At least that might quieten him down.
Very interesting how the article mentions using Lucky Eggs to boost experience from Lures but fails to mention Star Pieces that increase Stardust gain from catching pokémon... arguably much more useful for those of us over Level 40.
Oh! And Mossy Lures are also one of the best ways of getting Cherubi, a pretty rare pokémon that can only be hatched or caught from Mossy Lures. Personally had one from hatching, four through Mossy Lures.
Dang, I was looking forward to finding out what this is.. but September 12th is Turtwig Community Day, so I guess it will forever be a mystery!!
My guess is that the device is just a looped sensor with a Joycon slot in it that can register when it's flexed.. nothing too revolutionary, but will likely make a profit after the first hundred are sold.
@Nomad You know Nintendo better than that!! Gimmick first, game second.
@jobvd Agreed, though I was more pointing out it's standing in the handheld scene. Back when the Gameboy had only just discovered colour, the NeoGeo Pocket Color was running a game which in my opinion held up to many console fighters of the day (in gameplay, not graphics).
@ShinyUmbreon To be fair there was a game released on a handheld called the NeoGeo Pocket Color called Capcom Vs SNK: Match of the Millenium which teamed up SNK with Streetfighter characters.. it was one of the best fighting games ever released on handheld.
Terry Bogard is basically one of the most famous fighters from the "King of Fighters" games from back in the day. Personally I would have gone with Mai Shirinui.. though there are two reasons why Nintendo wouldn't pick Mai & most SNK fans know what they are.
Have to disagree with most of the people that have posted so far. I found the game too repetitive & fetch-questy. I was getting bored a few missions in.
I ONLY picked up the game for the toy Arwing.. wondering if game could have actually done even worse without them?
The Nintendo App has been really useful for me keeping track of Splatfest dates/times & friends teams etc... all of which could have been done on a Splatoon specific app.
Even that use is diminished now Splatfests aren't a thing anymore.
@BenAV Thanks for the reminder! Seems like every match counted in the end.
I'm sorry to see the Splatfests end but I enjoyed all of them. Whether it was getting to play with all my friends or accidentally being matched with a team of 3 pro players & winning 25 matches in a row.
I can wait to see what this does to Splatoon 3. Freedom is chaos!
@BenAV I was going to ask if it was a regional server issue until I saw your spelling if "mum", so I'm guessing you're in the UK too?
My best suggestion is to get a LAN adaptor & run this through your dock. It doesn't 100% get rid of lag, but my game has a run a lot better since I bought it.
My team and I were averaging 10-11 splats each per match, but this was around 7pm-11pm so internet was likely quiet
Just pointing this out, but the "Smash logo" is reversed while we're inside Shantae's room. We then cut to a reverse shot of Shantae looking through the "Smash logo" at all the excitement that she's not involved with yet.
If anything this is more confirmation that Wayforward want her in Smash & are getting the Masterhand middle finger.
So now the game is leaving a console with waveable kotion control sticks & moving to a console with waveable control sticks.. will you be keeping motion controls? Great opening questioning!
Glad the motion controls are optional however, they can destroy a game for people with certain disabilities.
It's interesting that so many people are assuming that Gamefreak are "lazy" or "haven't had time" to add all the pokémon to Sword & Shield.. I don't see that reported anywhere.
While it's disappointing, it's also likely that Gamefreak always knew they were going to cut some pokémon eventually & they've chosen the jump onto a home console as the best time to do it. I love my Pokémon and many of them are from all the way back from Ruby, but it's not the first time I've had to leave some behind & I'm also excited about new challenges ahead.
Of course, the Galar Pokédex could be released and it's 700 Pokémon long & all that's cut are useless pokémon like Dunsparce and redundants like the swellow line (pidgey clone).
TLDR; I love pokémon, have really old ones, oh well.. guess I'll buy the games & still have fun anyway. At least I'll have Pokémon to play while the pain of losing a 20 year old Alakazam sloooowly fades away.
@ClassSonicSatAm So it's Splatoon without ink, turf war mechanics, transforming characters, guns, Splatfests, judges, the developers, possibly even online play.. it's possibly devoid of everything that makes Splatoon Splatoon except the characters look a little similar?
@GrailUK I agree, there is a place for an organisation concerned with animal rights. However, PETA is only doing animal rights & it's own reputation harm with ill-considered publicity stunts like this.
@ClassSonicSatAm @ss213 @Ardisan The game definitely has some Splatoon styling, the stages & characters could easilly be confused. However, the gameplay appears to be drastically different. No ink/turf war mechanic? Hand to hand combat?
I'm hoping some of the extra time this game is taking will be used to make it a bit more visually appealing.
@FX102A The Turn-A Gundam was actually a pretty awesome design & took a slightly different "realistic" approach to Gundam. My main issue was the moustache.. that was an oddness too far.
They really need to work on the controllers and output for these units . For a brand that's famed for it's amazing micro switched joysticks, the Neo Geo lacking them is disappointing.
I'll hold off until they bring out a Neo Geo Pocket Color remake.
I have a lot of respect for Nintendo, in an era when most publishers are releasing games with barely any content & then charging through the nose for more.. Nintendo are still releasing finished games with free unlockable content & then MORE free content afterwards in many circumstances.
Yes, Nintendo has started charging for a few extras.. but imagine Smash was like many other modern fighters & started with 6 characters?
People are making a lot of assumptions, a game primarily made for handheld mode addresses how the games play.. not how it looks. GameFreak is just doing what it does EVERY generation, point out the game is designed to be played out & about. No news here.
Saying that I WAS massively underwhelmed by the trailer footage. I hope it improves a good deal before launch.
Seems to me that Tomita is angling for a little more money for his next composing job. Perhaps he was told "we can just replace you" when he left Good Feel?
A hard pass. While I love Pokémon, there's been way too much cheating revealed over the last few years in the competitive scene. This goes for both the TCG and VGC.
Might be a sign on the times, played in a few Yu-Gi-Oh! Nationals a dont remember it being as bad.. though there was one guy that got Exodia in his hand first turn every match (true story)..

@ThanosReXXX Well Optimus Prime stole his head from Gundam. All these robots stealing noggins.. they're all headcases.
