Some games I can only play docked, such as Splatoon 2.. you just can't perform as well in handheld mode.

I'd be interested in Switch Pro, but I'd then be concerned that a Switch Pro XL would be a few months down the line as with the DS to DS Lite to DSi.

@Forestt That game came after decades of rivalry... and it was more Nintendo borrowing a SEGA character rather than the other way around.

Hopefully Toyotarou has put more effort into this new character than he did in the Universal Tournament Arc.

This has a very 90s anime theme tune feel to it, probably where the lyrics have been translated from the Japanese & then squeezed back into the tune as best as possible.

It's good, but it's no "Everything is Awesome".

@Gurtelytis Unfortunately the UK is part of the continent of Europe even if it leaves the EU. It still makes more sense for distributors to include the main European languages in games shipped this way.

Never watched the anime or read the manga, but I have watched the Film Theory about AoT. So my opinion is... [invalid opinion removed].

@christ15 Unfortunately for us in the UK we have to wait for them to translate it into English, French, Spanish & German before we get our copies.

Cant say I'm a big fan of the series or gameplay (looks like it plays like an older Digimon game), but my younger brother adores Yokai Watch so might pick it up on the UK release.

In the end, its all going to he down to the software. As many Switch owners already know, game quality trumps hardware limits.

The fact that someone felt they needed to put the fact that Labo is aimed at younger audiences on record is concerning to me. Who looks at a VR mask designed to look like an elephant's trunk and even asks "how that going to hold up to PSVR".

Mewtwo just looks like Patrick and Squidward fused.

@Galenmereth I disagree, censorship is also about the suppression of part or all of a work/medium. It's easy to state that "companies not knowing or seeing profitability" in particular content... they were trying. An avid underground import scene had been going on for years leading to a few regionalised VHS tapes making it through.

While this may have simply have been marketing, UK magazines and VHS distributors were feeding back that there were that doors were shut for television and cartoons were for kids.

Lets not forget that in the 70s, 80s and early 90s even classical literature was being pulled into court for being racy.

@countzero I understand where you're coming from, though it does irk me a little when the UK gets lumped in with the US when it comes to censorship - particularly on the topic of animé where the UK was behind both the US and most of none English speaking Europe by several decades.

We didn't get Gundam, Astroboy, Galaxy Express, Ranma 1/2, Kimba the White Lion, Voltron nor any of the staples many European and American fans love from their childhood.. in fact I think Gundam Wing is the only Gundam series to ever be broadcast on a major network in the UK.

This where I seriously begin to agree with @Heavyarms55 that much of Western Culture has handled the concept of animation as a simple means to express a message to different target groups with such childishness that it's disgusting. It was only a couple of years ago I read a major UK newspaper compare all animé to tentacle porn.

I think it was the fact that I grew up almost entirely without animé (except Battle of the Planets, a heavily edited Gatchaforce which was cut so badly they added 5 minutes of filler in per episode) that made me reach out to the US, Germany & France and READ into it's history from Tezuka through to Takahashi through to Matsumoto.

@Galenmereth Just to note, I live in the UK & we're pretty censor heavy too. We got animé (not a specific series, just animé in general) a good decade or two later than North America.. I remember sneaking onto the phone late at night and calling through to Right Stuff International (Saltlake City) & begging them to send me a free catalogue so I could read-up on which animé VHS tapes I couldn't order.

I also remember about two and a half decades later finding out that my oldest brother got the blame for the £70 phone bill.

Ah, the pre-internet days of being an animé fan.

@ShadJV Thanks, I freely admit that I only played the one match of Smash, but that was bad enough that I've not gone back.

Not had any issue with other online games though.

@Zach777 Its worth investing in a LAN adapter. When I play Splatoon 2 docked with LAN connection I get zero disconnects and very little lag & my MK8dx experience has been excellent.

Smash is a lag fest though, only played one match & had a 7 second delay between button press and action.

Personally I love Scorbunny, he/she has a weird 90s Digimon aesthetic to him/her. Of course I may be biased as I generally adore Fire Type Pokémon.

My guess is that they'll reveal Gen 8 & it'll look and play just like the new Yokai Watch just like people have been asking for... and perform just as bad.

@rjejr As a Brit we hear so many horror stories such as the officer that tazed a 7 year old girl because she refused to go to bed (reported by her mum) and was presenting a threat to the officer. I can only imagine striking an officer would result in a tactical nuke in the US.

Does it matter? SEGA will probably give the Megadrive Mini to AT Games & it'll be trash much like the PS Classic.

On a more serious note, I'm not surprised at this. People attack officers for all sorts of silly reasons these days from "looking at you funny" to "felt like it". Police deserve a huge amount of respect but this isn't the stupidest reason they've heard I'm sure.

@Iacobus Thanks for the brand information! I thought some of my gear seemed to pick up certain abilities over others.. but didn't know it was brand related.

I only started playing mid-last year but absolutely love it. Finally starting to average 10 splats per match (turf wars). Little tips like this can really help.

Now if we can get a reliable Sega Saturn to go with the controller I'll be happy. They're not the best aging console ever made..

@Heavyarms55 There are a few different DB card games, from memory there is Dokkan Battle & Heroes which are both mostly videogame based (but release the odd promo card).. then you have the Dragon Ball TCG which is played with physical cards.

I used to be a Yu-Gi-Oh! Nationals player & there are a lot of planning & tactical skills I picked up during that time.. plus some great friends. If they're keeping their card gaming to breaks, it's shouldn't do them any harm.

I prefer to play as characters that didn't die in Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

I'm guessing the middle finger tha Jonny's actor got when he asked for his script for MK3.

@Yosher Well I'm not a developer, but I did programming at college & it's not uncommon to leave tags & notes in code for other people to pick up later.. it speeds up work later on knowing were certain things need to fit.

This is likely where the data strings come from, the real question is why they didn't use more cryptic code names.

Pokémon Switch is due out in 2019, we're a couple of months in.. to be honest it HAS to be announced soon. Soon could mean three months from now.

Hoping that this "leak" does relate to Pokémon day though. I'm really excited for more Pokémon.

Hmm, the name "Capsule Monsters" may run foul of Jump Magazine in Japan as Yu-Gi-Oh! had been using the name in its manga series regularly by the time Pokémon had come out (probably trademarked it too as a Capsule Monster games was released after the manga hit the bigtime).

@MysticGengar No. They can shut something down if it's advertised using the game's name, characters and IP. Just slapping "unofficial" in smaller writting doesn't mean you aren't using another company's trademark to sell your own shoddy experience.

Try opening up a McDonalds "unofficial" & selling Big Mucks and see how long it lasts.

As for fundraisers, Epic could have closed this event down beforehand but didn't, personally I see this as part protecting their brand, part protecting kids from disappointment. Fundraisers & charities should be fine.

Bravo Epic Games! While it might seem "harsh" that a business has been banned from using another company's IP to make money (after causing a lot of damage to that IPs brand).. Epic Games only took action after the company in questioned showed its incompetence. Meaning they have no problem with fun in general.

I really love the style used for these cards, the only thing that has me confused is Mr Mime's hair.. isn't hair. I never realised Mr Mime had "head-wings".

Not sure about the jigglypuff hate, I think it looks pretty awesome. And of course jigglypuff has hair/fur.. otherwise its "curl" would just be some phallic lump of fat bouncing around from its forehead.

@Heavyarms55 I've run into this problem quite a few times. A couple when trying to sync up my alt account & almost a dozen when trying to sync up Go players who don't have a Switch.

Hopefully it's fixed, I've been restarting my Switch to clear the issue but seems I needed to do it for each person.

Personally I prefer USB myself.. not had a CD player outside of my gaming PC for years.

If I do end up getting the pin set then I'll 100% have to choose the red house. Team Valor would never forgive me!
