Re: Two Of The Worst Mortal Kombat Games To Be Included In Legacy Kollection

DKG-85

Mortal Kombat special forces was one of the first games I ever got with my own money so it's got a bit of a special place in my heart.

I felt so grown up getting the bus home with my own with a game that I worked and paid for, no more waiting for Christmas and birthday's.

Now as a middle aged man I'm constantly broke thanks to being a father of 2 teenagers and the cost of living so I'm back to waiting for Christmas and birthday's in the hope my wife gets me a game or two 🤣

Re: Best Ghostbusters Games On Nintendo Systems

DKG-85

Ghostbusters on the Wii is the best Ghostbusters game ever made in my opinion, I do like the HD version of the same game but the Wii version ironically was the best in my opinion. There were enemies and locations added in!

The pixel ghosts that jumped out of the arcade cabinets were a particular stand out

Re: DS Horror Classic 'Dementium: The Ward' Slashes Onto Switch eShop Soon

DKG-85

Ok it's getting weird now

The day the Arkham collection got announced during the direct I was on eBay looking at getting an second hand Xbox one to play the Arkham games again.

The day the news dropped that forgive me father got announced for switch I was gonna get it on my son's PC

Today I was on eBay looking at dementium 1+2 for DS and was gonna treat myself then I saw the price and thought better of it, and low and behold it gets announced.

A bit gutted it's not 1&2 double pack because the sequel is so much better, hopefully we get it down the line

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Will "Absolutely Be Getting An Update" On Switch, Says Ed Boon

DKG-85

This is my opinion on the switch version of MK1 so take from it what you will

The game is playable and not in any way "broken" but I'd be lying if I said the bugs this game is suffering didn't hamper my enjoyment. And that's the key word here....bugs, because when everything is working as it should be the game actually looks quite nice. Some stages work absolutely fine but some stages like the one with the giant hourglass just do not load the textures and it seems to affect the loading of the textures on the fighters so far there are 3 stages I've noticed that do this and that is not good.

Loading times are not an issue for me and anybody expecting near the load times of a PS5 on a switch needs to check their expectations, what im saying is that the load times are for better or worse what I expected them to be and I cant see them getting much better no matter how many patches netherrealm release.

This port is acceptable......but just barely, if it was any worse we'd be in WWE 2K18 territory but at the same time I have not come across anything game breaking and for the most part I think the bugs can and will be fixed.

Re: Forever Entertainment Hints At New Remake Announcement In 2023

DKG-85

As the weirdo kid I was that was raised on a healthy diet of horror movies I adored the first house of the dead and it was the reason I owned a Sega Saturn and the predator light gun from Logic3 😉

The first house of the dead is a very special game to me and I was very happy with what forever entertainment did and it was everything I wanted from a remake. Aside from poor controls which is not the fault of the developers and is down to the hardware I'd say they deserve a pat on the back for getting it to work as good as it did but of course you can never beat a good old fashioned light gun.

To those saying it was bad I have to ask, what is it you wanted? The remake is a shot for shot remake of the original with more gore and a fresh coat of paint, albeit without the luxury of a proper light gun. If you think the remake is bad I have to wonder if you ever played the 96 original or liked it to begin with.

Re: Soapbox: It's The Port I've Dreamed Of, But Can Switch Deliver The Batman We Need?

DKG-85

I'm hopeful for the sheer fact that they didn't even need to port over Arkham knight, they could have just ported over asylum and city and batswitch fans still would have been pumped so they must be confident in what they have achieved.

Speaking of Arkham asylum and city, these two games could be the definitive versions on console. The return to Arkham games don't look all that good in my opinion and from what I've heard turn me up games are using the original versions as the template for their ports so if they manage to add a bit of spit and polish and a stable frame rate we could have something special coming our way.

Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Will Apparently Run At 60FPS On Switch

DKG-85

I'm super hyped for this, I love the prince of Persia games and although I wish it was a 3D game like warrior within or sands of time I can still see that there is effort being put into making this a good POP game.

And now 60fps is confirmed for switch that is the version I'll be getting, just no code in a box nonsense please.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Ubisoft's Metroidvania "Inspired" Prince Of Persia Platformer?

DKG-85

I been a prince of Persia fan since sands of time and consider it one of my favorite franchises in gaming so I am just glad we're getting a new game and plan on getting it but I would have preferred a 3D game though. I'm ok with the look and art style but I'm more a fan of the violent and gritty look of warrior within. At the very least I hope it still retains that Aladin/Arabian nights vibe that the old games had with genie's and wizards etc

Music in the trailer was pure cringe

Re: Hands On: Mortal Kombat 1's Stunning Presentation Has Us Anxious About The Switch Port

DKG-85

I to have my concerns, this does look a step up compared to MK11 in my opinion and for the first time ever since owning a switch day one, I'm not so sure this will work out well.

But with sensible compromises they might just pull it off. The dynamic transition from select screen to match will be gone, cutscenes in story mode will be videos from the other versions and certain things going on in the background of stages will be gone and you can probably expect 720p even when docked and that's how they are probably getting this to work. One thing I did notice is that there are no longer throwables in the stages or weapons to use like in MKX and MK11 so this will probably reduce stress on the hardware also. So long as there aren't features removed and the frame rate is stable I'll definitely be picking this up on switch day one but as I said I do have my concerns so I'll need to see some footage first.

Re: Prince Of Persia Is Back With Brand New Title, Out January 2024 On Switch

DKG-85

Crazy how I was at work today and thinking to myself "I really wish a new prince of Persia game would get made" and then pow, your wish is my command said ubisoft. I even put on that song I stand alone by Godsmack that they used in the warrior within trailers back in the day lol

I do wish it was a 3D POP game though, but I'll take what I can get

Re: Here's The First Bloody, Brutal Look At Mortal Kombat 1's Gameplay

DKG-85

Looks great but after seeing that footage I'm intrigued as to how the switch will handle it especially at 60fps. I personally really liked the switch version of MK11 and the team that did that port are doing this one to and they've got a better understanding of the hardware so they might just pull it off.

I think it'll run fine but there will be details missing like the people and fighters in the background of the stages and I'd imagine the dynamic transition from the character select screen will be absent and that's how they'll get things working like they did with MK11.

Re: Feature: Call Of Duty On Nintendo Systems - A Brief History

DKG-85

And I 100% agree, the wii-mote and nunchuck is the greatest control scheme for first and third person shooters and yes, even better than mouse and keyboard.

In terms of COD on the switch, just release legacy collections of the original MW trilogy and black ops trilogy and I reckon that would go down quite well. At the end of the day most people that play COD won't be doing it on the switch but give them the classics with full online support and on the go and I think most people would like that.

Re: Report: LEGO Disney And Guardians Of The Galaxy Projects Among Multiple Cancellations At TT Games

DKG-85

I'm a big Lego game fan but only of the franchises I like, Disney and things like Incredibles, harry potter etc are of no interest to me.

But to this day Lego marvel superheroes is my favorite marvel game, same as Lego DC supervillains. So they aren't working on a Disney game anymore and it's not guardians of the Galaxy so this other "big" project is either Harry Potter related or could be a Lego spiderman game based on all three of the most recent films, that would be so cool and would sell very well.
