Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With A Classic Fire Emblem

@EarthboundBenjy FE6 (Binding Blade) is already on the japanese GBA NSO, so just need to download the japanese GBA NSO app and you are good to go, aslong as you are ready for the japanese-language. You don't need a separate NSO + Expac sub for a japanese account to play it, aslong as you have NSO + Expac sub from before and have a regular japanese account to just download the japanese NSO apps

@Solomon_Rambling im following Best Indie Games/@Clemmygames on youtube and thanks to him but also JRPG youtubers like Erick Landon, I have added alot more games onto my Switch than I thought I would. Many hidden gems and outright obscure games that certainly deserves more attention and love. Together with a site like Dekudeals it's been my go-to place daily for games to find along with lovely discounts

Re: Video: 20+ Things We Still Don't Know About Switch 2

One thing I want Nintendo to clearly clarify even though it seems already settled but without the confirmation being there, is regarding region locking.
Only thing we know is that the "Japanese-Language System (Japan Only)" version will only have the system itself being in Japanese and that only Nintendo accounts with "Country/Region" set to Japan can be linked so as in eShop access limited to the Japanese eShop only and (and if you don't link your account or dont have Japanese account then you cant use features like Game Chat, NSO, Friend functions etc.)
Will that system still be able to play physical games bought from other regions? What about Switch 1 games from other regions?
Again, I'd say it's already obvious all other console variants (including Japan's Multilungual version) will have full support and be region-free, but would be nice if Nintendo can just make that statement to avoid any confusion for launch.

@Gatorclops well we saw Yoshi's Crafted World in the direct load alot faster and that game is (not yet) getting a Switch 2 edition nor is listed under games getting free upgrade patches.
In other words, it seems like it will just naturally run and load faster on the new system. Hopefully this will be applied to the big majority of Switch 1 games in general, including ACNH.

Re: Scandinavian Nintendo Fans Are Considering Flying Abroad For Cheaper Switch 2s

According to the Norwegian gaming podcast "Nerdelandslaget" (lit. "Nerd National Team"), they got in touch with prime Norwegian electronics retailer Elkjøp. Elkjøp informed them that their purchase price of Switch was NOK 6580 (~£471/€545/$602) per unit, which is a very tiny turnover margin of about 1,7% of the current sale price of NOK 6695.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?

@Antraxx777 The art style certainly slaps (atleast for the original back on the PS1 era) with the hand-drawn visuals. Music is also good. The narrative in SF2 is amazing and is one of the reasons I enjoy it the most in the series. The whole "steel vs anima" and the political intrigue is great. The downside is that this game can be very hard at times despite the no-need-to-grind SaGa mindset. The generation system can make the last part of the game very brutal if you are not prepared.

Considering what is to come in less than a week, it was a good direct.
If this was a regular direct with nothing expected in the horizon then it would be abit mediocre.
Still though. This direct certainly pleased alot of fans of semi-niche franchises!
Personally I'm glad that my favorite SaGa game (SaGa Frontier 2) finally gets a remaster! Also happy about the first of two SMT Devil Summoner Raidou games from the PS2 era getting a modern remaster!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?

Citano

@larryisaman plus the fact that Nintendo wants us all to move onto the Switch 2 as the prime hardware to play on. This also including Switch 1 software on the Switch 2 rather than sticking with Switch 1. New games will come but they won't come for Switch 1 anymore.
Guess we will see on wednesday next week regarding how Switch 1 will play on Switch 2 hardware as all reports indicate it will be way different than how Wii games was on Wii U (as it was more of an "emulator").

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?

Citano

@Grumblevolcano not really. Nintendo won't do what Microsoft did generations ago to have solo focus on only hardware. Sure, hardware will get plenty of time to showcase why this is a new gen over Switch 1, but they certainly want to show 1st party launch titles, plus upcoming Switch 2 exclusive games in development to create even more hype

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)

Had a round of Super Mario Party Jamboree yesterday. Today and tomorrow focus is to finish The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (at the Sandship dungeon now) and continue on Octopath Traveler 1 (finished all eight characters 2nd chapters) and New Pokémon Snap (only played about 3 hours)

Baby Rosalina also looks to be there in the trailer. Some also say Lakitu but abit hard to notice.
Another thing is that we have returning character sponsor signboards. A "Morton Construction" signboard is seen near Yoshi's Burger Stand and you can also spot a Nabbit signboard just as the console is placed in the Switch 2 dock.
Could indicate that all the koopalings plus Nabbit will be playable too.

Re: Sonic's Live-Action Movies Have Apparently Surpassed $1 Billion At The Box Office

Citano

Watched it on Dec 23rd and can say that I enjoyed it quite alot. It does have the same feeling as the second movie (as in Sonic vs Knuckles into Sonic vs Shadow) but connecting both Robotniks together since Gerald Robotnik is critical to introducing Shadow, was done brilliantly. It even felt abit "dark" and sad at times. Oh and love the post-credit scenes (yes, plural)

Another JP-only gem from Square-Enix that should be given the HD-2D remake similar to Live A Live.

3D Plattformers are still wanted and beloved. A Hat in Time, New Super Lucky's Tale, Psychonauts 2, remake of Yooka-Laylee (Yooka-Relaylee), Sackboy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
So many good non-Nintendo 3D Plattformers whom all deserves more love

Re: Poll: Okay, It's Time To Ask The Obvious - Will We Get Donkey Kong 64 On NSO?

Citano

Certainly. It was outperformed by the Banjo games but not bad in either way, despite the oversaturation of collectathon things and the kinda annoying forced switching back and forth between the kongs. Still fun to play if you have the patience and the inner determination of someone whom simply must get 101% clear (yes 101% is not a typo).
