Still no way to message friends

How do things like Pokemon cards stand in regards to age ratings as they are just as predatory as loot boxes in games.

£50 for a last gen game is way overpriced. I will hold off until I can pick up a pre owned copy

Haha, I only played my switch for 65 hours this year - 35 hours was on cyberpunk and 25 was Guardians of Azuma.
I played Silksong longer than I played my switch/switch 2 in a whole year.

I subscribe to gamepass so dont buy many games as I get them for free on Xbox. I tend to wait for Switch games to go on sale or buy pre owned as they are pretty expensive

I dont see all the fuss about the key cards as you get the full game and a product to sell on. It's no difference to having the game on a cart apart from not having to download anything

It's a 5 year old game, I'm more interested in seeing how new games run on the hardware.

I just want to be able to message and jump into chat party's with friends without having to jump into external apps.
I would have also preferred a home console rather than a hybrid to get on par with Xbox and PS but that's likely not going to happen

I hope that they don't lock content behind the plastic paywall of amiibo. I have zero interest in collecting little plastic figures yet don't want to miss out on dlc.

At least with Nintendo's involvement we shouldn't see any forced DEI in this movie with all characters being the same race and gender as the games

I dont know why Nintendo can't do what the bigger consoles do and give us the option of a performance or quality mode.
Surely it wouldn't be difficult for them to tone down the resolution and visual effects to target a solid 60 fps for those that prefer it.
I won't be picking this up at launch, I'm going to wait to get a pre-owned copy as I'm not supporting 30fps in a 2024 remaster.

No option to say they are both generic open world games with a few gimmicky mechanics

It's a fun game while it lasts but gets boring pretty quickly.
Nice to see it releasing at a decent price point though instead of being a full priced port.

I'm the opposite, I would love for some Nintendo games to go across to Xbox so that I can play without the limitations of Nintendo's hardware.

There shouldn't be any challenges, you should just be able to log in on the new system and have access to your existing games library like on PlayStation and Xbox.
This statement makes me think the new hardware isn't going to be backwards compatible with Switch.

The switch sold so well because households bought multiple switches where they would only have bought 1 home console. We have bought 4 Switches (original, 2 Lites and 1 Oled) whereas we only bought I series X and 1 PS5.
If Nintendo continue with the hybrid model I will likely hold off buying the new system unless it manages to match the SteamDeck in specs

The Gears of War trailers were amazing for being cgi while perfectly capturing the feel of the final games.

I've just picked up Monster Hunter Stories 2, so will be playing that along with more PalWorld.

I hope not but theres a high chamce that this is going to be another Duke Nukem Forever, its been stuck in development hell for far too long.

I'm mostly going to be playing PalWorld and I may try to get into Metroid Dread again - the Emi's kill the fun for me and I stop playing, but I would like to finish it before I trade it in.

Like you said, the resource management isn't that bad when you have the pals taking care of the base. I spent most of my time exploring and even managed to kill my first World boss

I was looking forward to this until I realised thats is more a survival game than a creature collection title. Not a fan of having to farm materials as a gameplay loop.

@Greatluigi I will check it out, looks interesting and resource management games aren't normally my thing.

I love the subscription model and don't see the fuss about owning games.
I paid for a month of Ubisoft+ and got to play Avatar and AC Mirage for £15 rather than having to pay over £100.
Do you guys still buy DVD's rather than watch movies on Prime or Netflix?

I only ever buy Switch games pre owned as I'm never in a rush to play the exclusives and I like to save money where I can.

@FawfulsFury yes it was, my best switch gaming moment was Metroid Prime as it was the only game that came out that was worth playing (for me).
The same could be said about your comment, you didn't actually mention anything Switch related.

I've hardly picked my Switch up this year, played for a week or so when Metroid Prime came out and took it on holiday and played a little bit of ToTK (Which I hated). Apart from that it's been collecting dust while I've played either my Series X or PS5.

Would love to get a current gen Nights or Virtual On game.

@RiasGremory no they aren't, they are generic open world games with the zelda licence tacked on.

For anyone looking for a traditional Zelda game on Switch I would highly recommend Dark Siders. For those who have a playstation then God of War and Ragnarok are both amazing zelda style adventure games.

Was going to pick this up on Switch but the fact it has a coop campaign means I will pick it up on one of the other systems.
I hate having to use external apps for voice chat.
I sincerely hope the next Ninty console has basic online features built in.

Will play this on gamepass but if I enjoy it enough will grab the switch version once it goes on sale.

I just hope the next game has chat options (either Ingame or via party with friends) as the online gets stale quickly when you can't chat and race.

Tried this on gamepass and its just awful, the main character is unlikeable and the dialogue comes straight from a horny teens fanfic.
So glad I got to try it for free rather than dropping real money onto it.

@ModdedInkling if its less powerful than what is currently available like a stramdeck what would be the point in upgrading?
Why would anyone pay for a "new" system that can't handle current gen software, especially when it will be around the same price as a steam deck which can run new software in portable mode

If they are sticking with the hybrid model it needs to be on par with or even better than the steam deck and able to play all new cross platform games.
If it remains behind the other systems what would be the point in upgrading?

I hope that Nintendo moves away from micro SD on the next system as these are crazily overpriced.
You can get a 5TB hard drive for less than 1.5 here. In fact these make the Xbox 1TB SSD look reasonable.
