@everyone people want NBA Jam so bad I really don't get why they don't bring it back in some form.

I think they are the only ones capable of making it fun. I'd rather Nintendo makes it work than some scumbag company I don't respect creates it.

@masterLEON I just bought a series X and man oh man did my heart swell when I saw my copy of Guwange was intact. The 360 had some great titles on it for sure.

I think they have realized that this niche community will pay up for games and are charging us accordingly. I am super happy all of these shmups are on the switch - but dern are they getting expensive.

@Moistnado I'm going to argue with you on handing word/excel to google. In the business world no one uses google to work on documents. billions of people use MS and likely always will since google has been fairly stagnant on innovation the past few years.

Lol I had the gamefaqs guide printed out for the original. I think I used that guide more than any other guide I've ever used outside of a fighter or old Disgaea games.

I'm in 100% agreement here. Clearly Sony sells adult video games from Japan and Nintendo only sells kid's games from Japan. Nintendo released in 2017 and Sony in 2020. That is almost THREE YEARS. How anyone confuses the two is CRAZY. It is like comparing car sales to sales of bananas. Not the same thing.

My suggestion: have all NSW sales in one category. Have Sony separated out because they are so different. What should we call it?

@Serialsid gaming wasn't considered a normal thing in 1999. It was still very much an outlier.

Square undoubtably projected sales of 6 million in it's first day and will tell us in the next month or so we have to buy NFTs of a nude Cloud riding a featherless chocobo or else they will do another re-release of FF 1 - 6 by Christmas just to spite us.

I love demos when I want to try a game. I know Pikmin 4 will be a good game so I'm cool waiting for the real release.

What benefit would he gain by lying in this example? Out of the big three - Microsoft releases the most first party games on other systems. Sony very seldom does and Nintendo never does.

GD I thought the console wars were dying but this lawsuit has really brought out the blades. MS wasn't kidding when they said that they wanted the case to move forward to get everything out in the open. That is exactly what has happened.

You forgot Indiana Jones: The PInball Adventure once again. The table is considered a pinball classic by aficionados and the FX3 game, while not universally loved because of how they separated it from the rest of the package, is still a good translation that took forever to come to fruition.

@KayFiOS that would be great. But there is opportunity cost involved there. With supply only recently reaching where it can meet demand choices have to be made. Most people probably don't even know that controller exists.

This is such a goofy premise for a full game that I might bite.

@JohnnyMind I don't think Nintendo would ever sell exclusively online. Why would you? You get a giant, in-store advertisement of your brand that 100s of people pass by everyday. Nintendo lives and die by it's casual audience who buy the machine solely because their kids want it. Retail is key in that regard.

My nearby Target has entire row dedicated to Nintendo while the other two get about a 1/3 of the shelf space. It makes the Switch look better right off the bat,

This message is for the next console not the current one. As well as another subtle jab at the competition. The rhetoric is ramping up for the successor. Just 8 months to go before the news drops - unless a manufacturer or wholesaler leaks it first.

I think a big reason for the Switch's success is the fact you could get one during the pandemic. $1000 PS5 scalper prices left a permanent bad taste in the mouth of the average consumer.

common mistake. The game appeals to millions of people playing the switch. people like aiming at other online people and pressing the trigger and making them fall down. it feels good. it's why Nintendo made Splatoon.

I've been spending more and more time on the Genesis app recently. All of these additions are welcome. Lately, I've been getting more excited about NSO drops than game releases - across all systems.

@KateGray then it should be in a separate category imho. I wouldn't give a 10 to a game that took very little effort to re-publish. I am super happy Capcom did - because this game is so hard to find - but a new 10 is very mis-leading imo.

It isn't keeping me up at night or anything. But I guess this is what we are doing now. Just begging for old games because so many new ones are terrible. Fast forward 10 years when the decent things we get are an absolute trickle. See: Hollywood.

As soon as Warioware was announced I deleted this game from my memory bank.

I kind of don't think direct ports with no real improvements should be reviewed like this.

I don't expect every single game I own to be bc - I almost don't want them to be. If they are then I expect the hardware won't be as robust as I hope it is. Something along the lines that Microsoft is doing would probably be okay with me. As many games as possible of course.

This seems like a statement in the right direction. I am growing quite weary of buying the same games every few years. Gamer's near constant clamor for re-buying old games isn't helping.

Unless the game reviews just god awful - I was planning on picking it up for my daughters. And then I plan on playing it myself during the secrets of the nighttime.

Every now and then I feel like I'm missing out on a must play AAA next gen experience. Elden Ring was an example. I feel nothing when I think of missing out on Final Fantasy these days.

Everyone in this thread needs to buy Akka Arrh if they haven't already. At full price. Of games that got very little attention it is easily one of the best of this year.

I got the first three games for free on Epic's portal. I don't know why anyone would be excited for this or pay more than a few bucks for all three somewhere else. I'd pay around $10 for these ancient games combined on the switch. Truth.

Eventually Pikmin 2 - the one I haven't played - but atm I'm squeezing the value out of xbox gamepass.

I probably won't get this right away because of the exorbitant price tag. It's a remake. I won't pay 60 for that - especially if with SE is involved.

I hope it has a decent co-op lobby. Something like Monster Hunter where it is easy to team up with randoms.

@RareFan I'd agree but they have been spreading the love around for so long now a little return to form is cool with me. Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Pikmin, 2 Wariowares, Zelda. I mean we have seen new, really good games of all these in the past 3 years. They aren't exactly being stagnant.

I'm not surprised or sad they are going to end the Switch (if) on a high Mario note. It's fitting.

@Ryu_Niiyama Gloomhaven has been on top of the best board games of all time ongoing yearly list (boardgamegeek)since it came out 6 years ago. You can play it solo. It plays like an RPG with achievement s and everything. It is like an involved DnD campaign without the need of a master or having to vocalize your imagination too much. It is very chunky, pretty expensive and all around a very inventive and fun game alone or with pals.

@RareFan I mean. The entire movie industry is just talking about Spiderman and Mario rn...it would be crazy not to capture that momentum in their main deal.

At least they are making an entirely new Mario game. And it looks quite different to me.

The footage was extremely stuttery - I didn't like that. BUT - I really do like Gloomhaven. So I am optimistic they can boost performance so it doesn't look so janky.

It was much better than I expected. I expected hype train for announced games - not nearly as many new games as they ended up showing us. Me and my daughters were pumped about the Peach game, Wonder is a no-brainer and Warioware is always a Day 1 purchase for me. This one looks like it could be top-tier Warioware - as long as they do a better job on cutscenes. Get It Together really disappointed on that.

I'm curious if the switch will be able to handle the 20 minute + lag. I've only recently just started playing this on the X - this is a great switch addition. The co-op looks really fun.

I'll wait on a review of these - I hope there are improvements to the older games.

3 non-connecting art styles mashed up together looked atrocious to me.

One of the few times in life I will pre-order a game. Because there is no chance I won't be playing this on release day.

I just REALLY hope they use more voice acting and have a better story like Gold.
