As a sidenote - from the reviews I've read the game seem quite middling anyway. For a 70 price tag an easy skip to wait for a huge sale years down the road.
It looks like if you are a cheap subscriber you pay a lot and if you have a better thing you pay much less. something like that. Obviously pokenon go would be a high tier. and if they aren't: F 'em honestly. I'd charge them a high fee too. because they arent meant to make billions because of a license when it is built on your back.
should be much less for them. .005/per in your are enterprise.
@UltimateOtaku91 SE did this the past few years. nothing and then just stacking them atop one another. These are three really potential games - and I'd probably get all 3 - but over 9-12 months not all stacked with a super busy Christmas.
Talented team but I think they aren't run very well at all.
@LadyCharlie it depends on the target tier. There are three. Urban (poor) middle and upper. Mine is the upper tier target - they get so much stuff they give it away even if you dont participate. This has happened now multiple times to me at target. Urban gets very little.
@azblue game Development is a horrible career choice unless you have unusual talent or are a founder. If you are in the western hemisphere and a regular grunt coder - you are the first out the door when trouble strikes. You get paid peanuts, work more hours than any other tech industry and are the first out the door when trouble inevitably rears it's head. heck half of what they do is illegal - such as Blizzard's harassment.
Other software jobs are much more comfortable. You make a decent wage, work human hours (although still more than most people) and are given a modicum of respect.
I sincerely don't know why anyone puts up with it. Why they haven't unionized en masse, like the movie industry, makes me question their intelligence.
@asukaArachne I like these articles too because there is only very rarely a person who has true insight to people's actual motivations and completely empty prayers. That person serves as a mirror to how groupthink develops and can be exploited by all sorts of people for their own gain.
Solid 7 of 10. I certainly saw some games for me like the Unicorn one. I was sad Paper Mario was the closer. All of these remakes are going to bite us in the ass one day - if that day isn't already here.
reading this review - I felt it would have gotten a 4 if it were any other game. Same with Scarlet/Violet - with it's problems it would have gotten a 3 or 4. It most certainly deserved it.
@anoyonmus true story. after a few hours of me not being able to totally keep in the giggles he started getting mad - it was kind of fun figuring out the puzzles together but it wasn't the greatest game for watching.
I told my roommate in college that once you beat the game Laura stripped down naked and he watched me play the entire thing - threatening me if it wasn't true.
@samuelvictor this looks like a game where the worse people do the funnier it becomes. I never even heard of the pc game - this is going to be a stinkin' hit with my family of four.
@Drac_Mazoku It is the main gripe but not the only one. The intensely low resolutions of the ground, buildings, etc when walking close up really bother me. You have a game like Monster Hunter - made 3 years ago - that is online with multiple people running all around a map - that has very realistic resolution in all parts of the game. Capcom obviously put effort into the game. I feel TPC put no effort at all into this game. It all feels so lazy and uninspired.
I understand the Switch has limitations and I also get that you don't need 4K max settings to enjoy a good game - I'm not the guy who counts polys. but when I walk up to an important symbol on Pokemon (like the emblem for the school or what have you) I expect it to not look like a Pollock inspired surreal dream mess. Like a finger painting a 4 year old might draw.
It took me out of the game - this is the first Pokemon I've ever disliked. I've been playing almost every one, including 80% of the side games, since Pearl released. It is the only one I started and didn't bother completing.
@Drac_Mazoku when you look across any of the towns and watch NPCs walk they they are trapped in a stuttering time vortex it doesn't take you out of the game?
I think the problem most people have is the game feels like it would fit on the PS2 or Gamecube. It doesn't fit on the most popular, money-making franchise in all of gaming in 2023.

Re: Review: Mortal Kombat 1 - A Superb Fighter, But Severely Kompromised On Switch
@9-Volt Not a fan of reviewers that review games based on future patches that may or may not come to fruition.
See: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
Are we just supposed to hope? Why are you carrying water for Netherrealms and their sorry state of current software?
Re: Review: Mortal Kombat 1 - A Superb Fighter, But Severely Kompromised On Switch
A four on a major release? I am impressed PJ.
Personally I couldn't play one of these knowing it is so much better somewhere else.
Re: Round Up: Developers React To Unity's New 'Runtime Fee' Policy
@Nintendo_Thumb from thier page where it has all of the tiers broken down:

thanks for the response
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 16th)
I'm feeling Ni No Kuni in honor of Level 5s announcement. I haven't finished it yet.
Re: Level-5 Premieres Multiple Trailers For Its Upcoming Switch Games
@UltimateOtaku91 for reals? That early? That seems like a bad decision to me. Space 'em out a bit.
Re: Round Up: Developers React To Unity's New 'Runtime Fee' Policy
@Nintendo_Thumb $10M. Multiply by .02 not by 20%. Likely much less on the tiered system.
Pokemon Go has had revenue of an estimated $5B. Is the architecture that makes the game possible not worth a tiny fraction of that?

Re: Review: NBA 2K24 - A Step Back That Fumbles The Ball On Switch
@Tirza Brick would work better.
Bradicas was right - fumble is a football thing.

$50 lol heck no. You can get it now on the DS - as god intended you to play - for 20 bones or less.

Re: Get Two Square Enix RPGs In This New Switch eShop Bundle
You aren't sticking me with Various Daylife by bundling it with a decent game.
You know who should be fired? The guy in charge of Square Enix's titles.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - The Teal Mask Are In
@Drac_Mazoku then this direct was really for you. It seemed full of rhythm games.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct, Then?
Solid 7 of 10. I certainly saw some games for me like the Unicorn one. I was sad Paper Mario was the closer. All of these remakes are going to bite us in the ass one day - if that day isn't already here.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - The Teal Mask Are In
@Drac_Mazoku HEY! I was looking at youtube videos of Trombone Champ and came across the one you made today. Funny coincidence!
Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - The Teal Mask - DLC That Offers More, But Not Enough
reading this review - I felt it would have gotten a 4 if it were any other game. Same with Scarlet/Violet - with it's problems it would have gotten a 3 or 4. It most certainly deserved it.
Re: Nintendo Direct September 2023: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
I was very happy to see voicework in Warioware.
Re: Trombone Champ Makes Noise On Switch With Gyro Controls Today
@ThaBEN good point if any game needs high fidelity and precision timing it is Trombone Champ. I think you got the gist of this game.
Re: GameCube Classic Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Is Heading To Switch
@LeJuiceCup Disagree. I enjoyed Origami King as much as any of them. I played the GC originally.
Remakes all of the time. boring and it is going to ruin this industry. For us - not for them.
It is y'alls fault though. When it is finally a shadow of it's former self you can only blame yourselves for complacency.
tough love
Re: The Original Tomb Raider Trilogy Is Getting Remastered For Switch
@anoyonmus true story. after a few hours of me not being able to totally keep in the giggles he started getting mad - it was kind of fun figuring out the puzzles together but it wasn't the greatest game for watching.
I had to buy him a drink I think.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Final amiibo Is Coming In 2024
This one meh but the Xeno 3 set? that one is my jam.
Re: The Original Tomb Raider Trilogy Is Getting Remastered For Switch
@Jamie64326 wrapped in plastic
Re: The Original Tomb Raider Trilogy Is Getting Remastered For Switch
@Greatluigi the time has passed and he forgave me for my lies all those years ago. he watched me play it for hours though for reals. Fun prank.
Re: The Original Tomb Raider Trilogy Is Getting Remastered For Switch
I told my roommate in college that once you beat the game Laura stripped down naked and he watched me play the entire thing - threatening me if it wasn't true.
Re: Stunning Zelda-Like 'Eastward' Plants New Farm-Sim DLC This Winter
I was really worried we weren't going to get a farm sim on this Direct. Eastward saved the day...and the planet itself.
Re: F-ZERO 99 Turns The Classic Racer Into A 99-Player Battle Royale, On NSO Today
@shoeses honestly they probably aren't that easy to make.
Re: GameCube Classic Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Is Heading To Switch
@anoyonmus i know i know, just a bummer for me personally. if it had been in the middle I would have been excited - just not as the big reveal.
Re: Trombone Champ Makes Noise On Switch With Gyro Controls Today
@samuelvictor this looks like a game where the worse people do the funnier it becomes. I never even heard of the pc game - this is going to be a stinkin' hit with my family of four.
It will be downloaded this very day.
Re: GameCube Classic Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Is Heading To Switch
I was really sad this was the final, big announce. Another remake. I love TYD but this was a real bummer.
Re: F-ZERO 99 Turns The Classic Racer Into A 99-Player Battle Royale, On NSO Today
This was the show's highlight for me. Will be playing on the SNES controller as I was instructed.
Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Opens On Switch In March 2024
My daughters will abandon me to the wolves if I don't buy this.
Re: Trombone Champ Makes Noise On Switch With Gyro Controls Today
@samuelvictor I think it looks funnier without a mouse. Like a beautiful disaster.
Re: Trombone Champ Makes Noise On Switch With Gyro Controls Today
@Orpheus79V 2nd to FZero99
Re: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Brings Some Platform Puzzling To Switch Next February
This was my least favorite game presented. Not a good start to the show.
Re: Splatoon 3's Story Mode DLC, 'Side Order', Splats Its Way Onto Switch Next Spring
I thought this looked trippy and fun
Re: Trombone Champ Makes Noise On Switch With Gyro Controls Today
best part of this game is how bad play can make the music terrible. Must buy
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mortal Kombat 1
@DennisReynolds I feel you. I am still finding the best publishers are still on $60. Capcom and FromSoft particularly.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - The Teal Mask Are In
@Drac_Mazoku take it easy my man - I'm glad you are enjoying the game
(I'm one of the seemingly few that openly admit I really enjoyed Sword/Shield)

Re: Review: Mugen Souls Z - Way Too Wordy, With Long Gaps Between The Fun Bits
@Princess_Lilly @LadyCharlie
I don't care about this game but i am enjoying y'alls confusing back and forth.
Re: Video: Live Orchestra Sinks Its Teeth Into Vampire Survivors' Brilliant Soundtrack
@Daniel36 they won't and shouldn't - the game is honestly perfect as is.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mortal Kombat 1
@DennisReynolds Only the 2nd one on the switch. I expect more though. I've yet to pay $70 for a game and I suspect I never will.
