Re: Splatoon 3 Physical Release Bundled With Expansion Pass DLC Announced

Blast16

I don’t play the Splatoon games.

Serious question: after the online goes away, what’s left? I guess if I was a super fan of this game I would probably buy it but if it’s live service then it would basically become useless. Again, I don’t really know much of this series beyond its design aesthetics and art.

Re: Soapbox: Are We Ready For A 3D Super Mario Maker?

Blast16

I really thought I’d like the Mario Maker games, but it turns out I only really like a couple stellar ROM hacks.

I was not impressed with the user created levels I played. I would much rather Nintendo not devote any resources to something like a new MM and instead deliver a new, instant classic 3D Mario.

Re: Stardew Valley Version 1.6 Update Will Be Released On Switch "As Soon As Possible"

Blast16

@dodgeskill100 thanks! Unfortunately, the ads don’t bother me, as I can X them out if needed. But now, on my phone at least, anytime NL posts their own video in an article and you scroll, the video follows you no matter where you go on the page and it eats up a large percentage of screen real estate. I find this just as bad as an ad, but it’s actually a choice made by NL from what I can tell.

Re: Sega's First Super Game Making Steady Progress, Still Targeting 2026 Release

Blast16

We’re quite far off and this sounds overly ambitious. Hoping this isn’t some live service clone wanna be game.

For the umpteenth time, why don’t Sega make smaller focused games based on beloved franchises that people associate with their brand? All we get now are sonic games and I haven’t even considered buying one in years. I had the Genesis games, Dreamcast stuff, and a couple others but they have so many cool series they could explore.

The Golden Ticket one-game meal ticket approach is such a gamble…why do that? It’s YEARS AWAY. Sega doesn’t what Ninten-do these days lol

Re: Classic Horror Beat 'Em Up 'Night Slashers' Is Coming Back To Life In An All-New Remake

Blast16

Uhh…I wish these companies would just make something new or make a sequel or something.

Night Slashers is a cool idea for a beat ‘em up and I’m sure there’s more that could be done. Compared to the original this just looks worse. And as someone else just said, the original is already available for $7.99 (I think). So besides die hard fans, who’s gonna bite for this at double the price? I’m a pretty big fan and I see no need for this new one if it’s a simple remake.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: The Lion King

@Clyde_Radcliffe I do recall this being difficult, but only until I tried to help my little brother with Beauty and the Beast: Roar of the Beast on Sega Genesis. That game is ridiculously punishing!

It was a minor setback.

Re: Analogue's CEO Reckons Not Even Nintendo Could Beat Its New 'N64'

Blast16

If I’d read this blurb and didn’t already own my Analogue Mega Sg and Super Nt, I’d probably laugh off this unprofessional official statement and move on from considering purchasing one.

Analogue products in my experience are as good as it gets with original carts and everdrives on HD sets, but that dude needs to read his statement back on the screen a couple more times before committing to posting… makes them look amateur.

Re: Ed Boon Might Already Be Teasing Another Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Character

Blast16

Is this game really as unplayable as people keep saying? The load times seem really off putting.

For those that own, Is this game worth its price tag? From what I’ve seen, I’ll take the OG arcade trilogy. Less hassle, solid experience.

Not sure if this one’s for me but I hope all the MK fans are having fun!

The naming of this franchise may soon turn into a “Fast and Furious” lol 😂

Re: Video: We've Played Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Here's 8 Minutes Of Gameplay

Blast16

I’ve avoided most gameplay clips up until now, and it looks like the game controls well, but I keep getting this ROM hack / Mario Maker user vibe in some of these clips that does not impress me.

I didn’t really think this felt like a Super Mario game until about five minutes in…some of what I saw in the video looks easy to the point of boredom, but luckily later it looked more engaging and fun. The constant barrage of stuff onscreen and sound effects seem…not as concise / focused as earlier Mario games. Almost seemed like a meme game for a few seconds but I guess I’ll see when I play it. I’m probably in the minority but I like the NSMB console games and feel like they are solid entries, though I understand why people think the series was tired after 4 games in a similar engine. Wonder seems odd, but I’m not sure if it’s good odd or bad odd for me just yet. I’m hoping to have a lot of fun with this one!

Though, I’m pretty sure I’m going to cancel my pre-order. I’ll wait on more footage. The music felt extremely predictable for a newer SMB game. I hope there are lots of new themes and some creative takes on old ones.

Just a few first impressions. Looking forward to seeing more from NL. Thanks for putting this video together!

Re: Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection Adds Two Sega Genesis Titles

Blast16

@wizzgamer to legally sell these, LRG must obtain permission from companies that own these games, and along with that, pay the appropriate licensing fees. This is different from say, an Etsy seller making just a couple repro carts and selling them for profit (which is illegal since they don’t own it to sell in the first place). Not saying I don’t have a few 😅

Re: Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection Adds Two Sega Genesis Titles

Blast16

@NightBeast The Lost World is quite good! I have all three of these on Genesis and the two on SNES but still have not beaten all of them. Very fun games indeed. The Lost World has some very impressive graphics design during some “encounters” 😱 if my memory serves. They all offer something unique. Kind of makes me long for that in games these days. That always excited me as a kid to see how the Nintendo version vs Sega versions differed.

Pretty insane that out of the six games in the collection they are all different. I say awesome!!!

Re: Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection Adds Two Sega Genesis Titles

Blast16

@nhSnork yes, it’s a great game!! I’ve not played all the way through. I better put it on my list!

Maybe someday they’ll release a second collection? Either way, I got what I wanted out of this first one now that Genesis JP and JP: Rampage Edition are included.

This whole thing seems kind of weird. When it was revealed, everyone clamored for the Genesis games, and they delivered seemingly overnight… maybe it was held back as part of the reveal to hype the game? But the pre-order has been live for weeks…and is only available until October 15.

I can’t wait until I get to play the raft level!!

Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Lands A New Physical Edition With DLC Included This November

Blast16

@RupeeClock That is absolutely ridiculous. I order from them every few months, and I know how long the waits can be when you've pre-ordered more than one game in an order. They don't ship until everything is together. BTW their shipping rates are total BS compared to just about everyone else.

I know, I'm part of the problem ordering from them but a lot of their releases are exclusive, and I'd rather wait to play with entire game on card than buy digital when possible (even though I've double dipped waaaay too much. Trying to get better on that).

Re: Talking Point: Which Classic Cartoons Deserve The Shredder's Revenge Treatment?

Blast16

I voted X-Men, though more than anything, I’d like to see new original beat ‘em ups rather than a remake or reboot like Shredder’s Revenge. Luckily we’re getting lots of them these days. It’s just I’d prefer collections of the old games on a single card instead, like the Cowabunga Collection. That was great!

Unpopular opinion here, but I played through SR and outside of a buddy calling to play co-op online, I haven’t touched it since launch, though I have enjoyed other newer games like DD Gaiden, Final Vendetta, Mayhem Brawler, The Takeover, 99 Vidas, etc. much more than newer games using existing IP. Don’t get me wrong: SR is a magical love letter but I just don’t think I’ll be going back to it as much as other new beat ‘em ups. Same with SoR4. To me, the old games are untouchable.
