Re: TMNT: Splintered Fate Gold Edition Gets Totally Tubular On Switch Today

Blast16

Played 50+ hours and completed many runs on S1. Had a blast with the mp gameplay during the holidays! Some of the builds, like shuriken mentioned above, can be ridiculous!

If you like arcade gameplay and upgrades offered at regular intervals throughout, highly recommend. 4P is the best, but I spent several hours on 1P runs and enjoyed myself.

@AussieMcBucket I just remember back to the 360 days where it seemed there were lots of demos to try on xbla. Maybe it just was for games I was already considering, lol. But when it comes to N games they are more expensive than my usual picks so it helps me gauge the Nintendo ā€œvalue.ā€ I bought Devil’s Third. I clearly make good choices!

@Paper_Yoshi if every N game had a demo I would likely buy more of their games, but their prices are high compared to the games I routinely buy (in the $10-40 area), so I usually only get them if I am really sure I’ll like it. If I can get 2-3+ games I know I like instead of just 1 that I might, I go the prior route.

Re: Balatro's Back To Steal All Your Spare Time In New Switch 2 Version

Blast16

Picked up Balatro last summer on Amazon deal $14 physical. I instantly was addicted and won with a few decks. Amazing game but after my 20-hour stint inside a couple nights where I was at it until the sun came up and the servers led me to the comped buffet, I quit cold turkey. Not sure it’s a healthy thing for me to play this one, lol.

I WANT to play it again now…

Re: Marvel Maximum Collection Revives Six Classic Superhero Titles On Switch

X-Men Arcade Collection!! Also featuring…other stuff. I have most of these Genesis and SNES carts but I’m in for the two arcade games if the price is fair and the emulation is good or better.

Anyone here play these Carbon Engine games by LRG? How’s input latency? Sound? Are the CRT scanline options any good?

Re: Ubisoft Layoffs At Two Swedish Studios Expected To Impact 55 Jobs

After 2014 everything I’ve played of theirs has been recycled or lazy slop. I stay away now.

On topic, I hope they will help these people find new employment.

Edit: I did forget one thing, and I am excited, based off the back of the review here on N Life, to play the 2024 Prince of Persia.

Re: Konami Appears To Have A New Switch Game In The Works

Since this has become a request section, I’d love a new 2D classicvania sprite game akin to something like ReBirth. M2 remade Haunted Castle and that was excellent, so hire them and get it done 😃 speaking of, I need to replay that one soon.

Also, port ReBirth to Switch. All of them, pretty please. It’s money on the table.

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

@YANDMAN 100% agreed on your entire comment. I have also played through several times and will continue to go back and improve my skill. The music and arrangements are just incredible and everything else feels just right in line with a MD game from the mid 1990s, only heavily polished. Beautifully done pixel art, controls feel great and accurate to a retro game, which is probably the most important thing they’ve achieved. It FEELS like a retro arcade shooter. Has an Aliens 3 feel, along with a little Contra, Rolling Thunder, etc. looking forward to going back to it. I’ve probably played about 7-8 hours, and it will be joining other coveted games on my ā€œreplay every year or twoā€ list.

Re: Poll: Is Your Third-Party Switch 2 Dock Still Working After This Week's System Update?

Blast16

I don’t yet own Switch 2, but I am watching the launch of Switch 2 closely and understand why so many have opted for a cheaper dock. Price gouging from the manufacturer.

Admittedly, I don’t ever take chances on any of my hardware whether it be video gaming or musical instruments, etc., but this stuff has truly become luxury items. They always were, but now we’re really paying out for it.

As a long-time Nintendo and home console buyer, I’m having pause for the first time since the mid ā€˜90s buying the newest hardware without question, interrupting a 30+ year ritual of ā€œI’ll get it up front and be happy later.ā€ I’m not sure I like the direction of Switch 2 just yet, and Nintendo’s not doing many favors for their image, respectfully—in my opinion, of course.

In closing, despite my own personal concerns for Switch 2 and Nintendo as a company at present, you never buy a third party accessory so early, hehe. You’re all very brave! āœŒļøšŸ˜ƒ

Re: Nintendo: 84% Of Switch 2 Players Transitioned From The Original Switch

@dazzleshell thank you, that is a good idea, but I tend to be sentimental with my gaming hardware so I’ll likely keep my switch and save for switch 2. I’m looking forward to the exclusive switch 2 library of games, so for now I’m going to begin putting a little money aside and play wait and see āœŒļø
