Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In July 2025

Blast16

@Cakefish seems like N want precise control of having pretty much the only big AAA experiences early.

In their roadmap, they stated that it’d start with first party for months before third party was part of the next window, which I recall we all thought was strange.

Among other things, I’m waiting for solid third party support and system seller games before I consider purchasing. A bunch of S1 games and a couple N S2 games are not impressing me just yet. MKW and DK are not selling me on S2. I was expecting announcement of the next 3D Mario, and that’d help do it for me.

Seems N is tightening the grip of control in ways that a lot are not find of.

I’m interested in this.

Seriously, this does look pretty sweet and you get a lot for the asking price. I don’t NEED it, but I do want it.

Now Konami, make another 2D Castlevania, pretty please!

EDIT: Side note - I just finished Chronicles Of The Wolf and it was excellent. If you like the SCIV and Rondo Belmont controls with the villages and clues of SQ and the castle exploration of SotN, it’s an absolute must play. I had low expectations and was blown away. It’s my game of the year at this point. Also, the soundtrack kicks!!

Re: Street Fighter 6 Somehow Combines Game-Key Card And Code-In-A-Box On Switch 2

With all this controversy over the Switch 2's game key cards and expensive consoles, new high game prices and the anti-consumer precedence it's already setting as enacted by other publishers and manufacturers, it seems Nintendo is pricing out the casual gamer market, their bread and butter. Heck, I could give them my money, but I don't agree with how much more expensive all of this is compared to Switch. It seems like Nintendo is going for a much tighter grip on your access to what you pay for. I certainly don't trust their intentions anymore.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 20.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@MeloMan That would be great! I updated and checked my wishlist, and some of my purchases have been removed, while others are as they were, grayed out and listed as purchased.

Has this happened with anyone else?

I must say, I wish these "in preparation for Switch 2" updates were OPTIONAL The whole virtual game card thing on my other Switch is a total PITA. Not planning on buying Switch 2, either.

@JohnnyMind If you like classic arcade games then you’d like this. I just randomly started playing the first Volgarr and then this article popped up!

Also just want to thumbs up your positive posts (all of them), specifically your above message about the needless hate in comments sections. I think people tend to spend too much energy focused on things that don’t matter or that they dislike instead of celebrating the things that make them happy.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Announced - Story Expansion, New Fighters And "Big Surprises"

@HeadPirate I was referring to my complete in box copy of the game that I get to enjoy to this day. Manual, game, case, box art.

Your opinion is also much respected, but you’re coming from an analytical side where I was expressing joy surrounding a video game. Not sure why a difference in perspective makes me naive for having a different opinion. Oh well.

When I was 12, I wasn’t thinking about budgets and balance updates. I enjoyed the little I had.

Yes, if one wants to think of 76+ characters in a game as beating out a game from 30 years ago, that’s perfectly fine. Smash is a polished game, I own it, but it’s not my favorite kind of fighter.

@axelhander I’m quite happy with my complete Genesis copy of SFII Special Champion Edition, my SNES SFII Turbo, and my other ports. I guess what I was trying to express is, as a kid, I only had the Genesis game and was happy with it. When I became aware (much later because the internet wasn’t really a thing) that other expanded versions came out, I never felt ripped off. I’m certainly not saying I had it better, but I am sharing a happy memory from a different time in gaming. I like to have a finished game on a card I can go back to and enjoy, that’s really all I was getting at. It’s harder now in this gen with downloads.

@Poodlestargenerica interesting, I hadn’t heard that Ancel story. Thanks for catching me up 👍

On a related note, I guess flops these days don’t have the advantage of getting a sequel that often as even games that make multi millions are sometimes cited as failures by the publishers. Crazy! Seems unsustainable.
