I know two people who have lost jobs directly as a result of Gen AI being "good enough". In addition, one coder friend who believes he is going to be canned soon as he feels he is, at this point, helping train his replacement by being forced to integrate AI stuff in his workflow. It needs regulations now or more jobs will be lost and art will get crappier. Gen AI is trained on plagiarism and needs to be kept away from places where real, human artists create.
My biggest complaints are that the boss runbacks are far too long, and having to pay to use some benches (when there are already too few) is some absolute nonsense
Boss difficulty itself is totally fine and I've already adapted to Hornet's movement just fine
How quickly can I mash through repetitive hand-holdy, tutorializing text? If the game is merciful it won't bother me. If the text is a painful crawl with a fixed duration, woof, I dunno. I have little patience for that kind of thing these days.
@Poco_Lypso "labels such as bigot, sexist or racist have outstayed their welcome and dont mean anything anymore." says the person throwing around the current buzzword 'woke'. That word needs to go in the bin too, especially since the people throwing the biggest fits about it never seem to have a clear definition of it.
Pizza Tower was my second favorite game last year (right behind TOTK). It's a joy. Unfortunately, I recently learned its main dev is... problematic. So I won't be rebuying it.
The stock market "tanking" here in the US today returned things to the same levels they were in May. It's still up roughly 10% on the year. Which is way better than anyone could get in a bond or savings account. Some rich people are going to be a little butthurt, but they know this is a market correction and they're going to be just fine. The tech sector is overvalued now anyway, so losses there shouldn't be unexpected. Crypto is bust, NFTs are bust, and AI still hasn't delivered. There's a bubble that will have to burst eventually. What happened today is honestly nbd. I want to eat the rich as much as anyone, but today ain't our day, and this year ain't no recession.
Whew, I put a dozen hours in and dang, I hate to say it but I'm let down. The enigmatic nature of story progression, arcane controls, lack of any convenient information, unhelpful map, and cryptically conveyed actionable locations and items ranges frustrating to infuriating. The combat is enjoyable, the game is beautiful, and the music is lovely. But the friction is hard to overlook. I've seen the credits 4 times and none of the endings I got were satisfying. Bummer
Once I finally learned you can transfer some stuff over from a save file of the OG, I used some gift cards to get Vengeance and am having a good time. The QoL stuff is nice and I just need grind up some macca to get my OP Shiva and Idun back
Protip: turn off motion blur in the settings to improve framerate a little. You can try disabling AA and AO too, but the game looks nicer with those on and still runs well enough for me.
@RunninBlue yes I'm aware of that page and do what I >reasonably< can to avoid products with many of those companies. Obviously, I recognize that on some level these corps are unavoidable in daily life ("no ethical consumption under capitalism") but something like this game is an easy choice: Black Rock has trivial percentages in hundreds of companies; MiSK has 96-97% of SNK. If your argument is "other thing bad, so it's okay to ignore this bad thing because I want it", that's weak and you know it. Rationalize your purchase to yourself however you want, but you DO have a choice at least some of the time.
@RunninBlue your whataboutism is weak, friend. Does the US govt or US individual who committed war crimes own a 96% controlling stake in a major video game company?
@Serpenterror "In April 2022, MiSK Foundation acquired 96% ownership of the Japanese video game company SNK." You want to guess who founded MiSK? You think SNK doesn't get a share of the profits from the game and are letting them use their IP out of the goodness of their hearts?
I would love to buy this, but that would mean directly supporting a tyrant and despot guilty of human atrocities. SNK is still owned by Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman .
As a Kickstarter backer, I'm definitely let down about some things, but I'm still able to put my Good Time Hat on and mostly enjoy it. There's a lot to like. Maybe performance patches will come.
@ozwally it autosaves at certain points, so I not sure how they lost 2 actual hours. I haven't hit any areas that didn't autosave within a broad window like that, so call me skeptical of that claim. However, the game really shouldn't crash at all.
For a while I thought I wouldn't make it out of the pandemic alive to see my Kickstarter pledge for Eiyuuden come to life, but unless I crash my car on my way home it looks like I made it.

It's time to dig some holes
Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
7 is an interesting choice. I mean, I like that one, but hm. 5 really deserves this level of treatment imo
Re: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Patch Adds 60fps Mode, But There's A Catch
Of course this comes just a few days after I beat it lmao
The switch 2 performance was fine, though, the 30fps never bothered me

"19th century" - did the Kickstarter launch in the 1800s?
Re: Video: 13 Exciting New Games Coming To Switch 1 & 2 In September 2025
Silksong and FF Tactics, naturally. It's gonna be a busy fall for me
Re: Team Cherry's Already Got "Ambitious" Plans For Hollow Knight: Silksong Additional Content
Hello Knight DLC was expansive, cohesive, and FREE. I don't understand what people in the comments are complaining about, exactly.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Offers Buttery Smooth Performance On Switch 2
@Scollurio well, that new 2D ninja Gaiden only runs at 30fps on Switch 2, so this is welcome news
Re: Hands On: Forget The Name, Square Enix's New Action RPG Is A Lovely HD-2D Take On SNES-Era Zelda
Modern Secret of Mana-like? I'll probably be able to afford a Switch 2 in time for this.

@JJtheTexan those cities are expensive and kinda impractical for orgs like this with limited funding, don't you think?

Did Nintendo pay NL to write this ad?
Re: Review: Gal Guardians: Servants Of The Dark (Switch) - Cracking Combat In This Character-Swapping Metroidvania
Smoking this tonight for sure. I don't expect it to blow my mind, but I know it'll be solid. That's the Inti Creates way.

$20 is a steal for this game if this does well it could be very good things for the Yakuza franchise and Nintendo

I chilled with the first one and I'll probably chill with this one during a slow period. They're good stuff, even if repetitive.

So definitively, will it or will it not accept my save from the original for use as a NG+ in this version?
