@Northwind and by number slave, I meant the kind of people who get triggered and throw a fit if a game gets a score they don't like or disagree with. Like, who cares?
@Northwind 1/10 would be my hypothetical 1-10% range, while 0 would just be zero. Like a broken, completely unplayable, >unreviewable< game. Again, we're debating headcanons here. If you want 10/10 to = 100% go for it. But then you're eliminating a whole, usable/meaningful score range. To me 0/10 is less useful than 10/10 for a range. When was the last 0/10 you saw?
@Stocksy but 10/10 does not have to mean 'perfect'. It could just mean it's within the top, final 10% (90% to 100%)of games reviewed. That's always how I've viewed things as subjective as vg review scoring. 9/10 means it's within the top 20% this particular person has played, but not necessarily up to that very last top 10% (80-89%). Maybe number slaves won't like that, but whatever.
The PS4 versions of these ports have been out in JP for a long time, now, with no word of Western release. If they don't announce a formal western release for these Switch ports in the next month, I will 100% use a JP account to nab em.
To people complaining that these digital only releases will be gone forever in 10 years or whatever: download it to an SD card. Hell, all of the FF releases will fit on a single SD card cheaper than the combined cost of physical copies. Sheesh. Bring me your down votes.
@sandman89 I guess we can have different opinions since both series are quite different in presentation and gameplay from each other despite being skateboard games, and not everything needs to devolve into 'my thing is better than your thing' debate.
With everything else releasing in the next 60 days I will definitely wait for a sale on this. But I absolutely want it. I played Grandia on the psx and it was enjoyable.
The time I spent with this last night was a joy. Definitely died a good number of times before really getting the hang of it, but I took down one dungeon and I can't wait for more this weekend.
I'm really only interested in Seiken 3,so it's difficult to justify the price for me. However, I want to support things like brand-new translations for games that never made it west, and I've definitely spent $40 on worse/stupider things... I'll probs end up downloading a couple months when I get bored with Mario Maker 2 or the rest of my backlog.
Haven't played this since I had a GBC so I'm pumped. If I get 10-15 hours from it the value per hour is well within my comfort zone. The tilt-shift blur effect doesn't seem as overly strong compared to Octopath.
@Kilroy Hm, I'm on the West coast (probably just an hour south of NOA) so I just assumed midnight Pacific would've been good. I can't remember specifically, but I could swear, swornly, that this was the case for something I pre-loaded not too long ago... FF7, FF9? Bah, my mind fails me.
Pre-loaded Cadence, tried to stay up to play it a little at midnight, but couldn't make it. Fell asleep on the couch. Considering taking a half-day from work...
@LegendOfStewart There's a big difference between a PS2 game and a modern game engine running at a resolution that you find beneath your standards. It's a Switch port, dude... This is what we signed up for. I'm pumped this is even possible at all because I was never dropping several hundred more gold pieces on a new system just to play it.
Glad this is finally happening to so people shut up about it. One of my least favs for sure, but hey, everybody's got their thing. It was just the first one back in the day that didn't 'feel' like FF to me.
Hm, I didn't even once think about the icons even a little bit. Now that I've read this, I still don't care. As long as I know what game I'm about to start, it doesn't matter. It could be white text on a black background for all I care.

The omission of Neo Turf Masters is a crime on par with human trafficking.

I can't justify $60 for Zelda, so ni no Kuni and goose game for me. DQ11 already preloaded so I won't be running out of game any time soon.
