The best demo I've played was for Xenogears back in the day. It's just the first area, but a few minutes in it literally comes up and be like "hey here's some characters you'll meet in the full game eventually, just have some with em now lol"
Love HK to death, but imo those darkest areas could've been 10% brighter so I didn't have to strain my eyes, without sacrificing any of the atmosphere.
GOTY 2022 is the gift that keeps on giving. I like that they called this a "Spring update," perhaps hinting that there is still more to come, well over a year past its release. I'm excited to run through this game a fourth time.
@Vexx234 lol, surely you can't believe "it hasn't happened to me, therefore it never happens to anyone" is a valid argument. Your life experience is not universal. If you have to know, I don't particularly care about spoilers, I'm just not silly enough to believe they don't exist in The Wild.
I bought this Day 1 on the Cube and remember having a great time with it. Then I tried replaying it a couple years ago during quarantine and finding it stilted and very rough. Couldn't get more than a few hours in. Has not aged well, unfortunately. Vesperia, Breseria, and Arise all managed to elevate the Tales series beyond the point of me being able to coast through older ones on nostalgia alone. (except for Tales of Phantasia)
Lotta people complaining, but this is actually a selling point for me lol. Sure, ideally they'd just make 'em toggle-able, but if I had to pick I'd always go original language.
Toss up between the vertical platforming in the last level of Cyber Shadow and fighting Radiance in Hollow Knight. But the satisfaction that came with beating each was sweeter than candy.
@Boyward it's not super common. But every time it happened it was definitely jarring and felt out of place. Otherwise, it's a great game. I have a few other relatively minor issues with it, but when the credits rolled after 26 hours, I was very satisfied overall.
Woof, no mini-map (or any map?) kinda kills it for me. I know literally nothing about RWBY aside from what I just read in this review (not sure I've even heard of it beforehand), but I'm usually willing to give these types of games a go. But I gots to have me some sorta map.
Played this for a few hours last night. It owns, dude. I enjoyed the original for a while but it grew stale on me and I never finished it. This new jam seems like the real deal and I'll definitely be at it til the end. So glad this got a Switch release! The only games I use my PC for any more are the Yakuzas, lol

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer?
I think it still looks pretty dope and any accusations of "ackshually this coulda been DLC" are histrionics and haterade.
Re: Mini Review: Kraino Origins - Castlevania, Mega Man, And Mario Influences In This Brilliant Retro Platformer
I Kickstarted one of this guy's games but it failed to make its goal. Glad this one came to fruition, tho! Def gonna pick it up
Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?
Silver USA 3DS XL with Mario and Luigi on it, (I think it came bundled with Mario 3D Land?) and a Pearl white Japanese 3DS LL.

Re: Gorgeous Pixel Art Platformer 'Chronicles Of 2 Heroes' Carves Out May Release
Yeah I could chill with this, just seems like a mistake to release within a couple weeks of a new Zelda, tho.

Re: Review: Grim Guardians: Demon Purge - A Creative, Character-Swapping Ode To Castlevania
Uh, yeah, I'm into this. Shame about the voices, but things could be worse.
Re: Talking Point: Why Are So Many Remasters Sub-Par At Launch?
Budget, time constraints, and the modern-day convenience of post-release patches.

Re: Editorial: Don't Worry, We'll Be Avoiding Zelda: TOTK Spoilers On Nintendo Life
@Vexx234 what a ridiculous statement. Unprompted spoilers can pop up anywhere.

Best OST on the Gamecube? Yeah, I'd say so.
Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I think I paid $75 for chrono trigger in 1995, so I've long been expecting game prices to get back there. Not that I'm thrilled about it.
Re: Hands On: Afterimage Is The Most Beautiful-Looking Metroidvania We've Ever Played
I Kickstarted this. Still looking forward to it. Prettiest ever? Nah, but it doesn't have to be. Just smooth and delicious.

Re: N64 Classic Yoshi's Story Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary Today (Japan)

It's still Infernax for me.

It looks like a Sonic game, but with the possibility of being good!
Re: Talking Point: What's The Deal With The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Switch Release?
Yesterday I put the big special edition in my cart and made it almost all the way through checkout before I came to my senses. eShop will be fine.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 17th)
Having a grand ol' time with Chained Echoes. It's got all the things a growing 38 year old big boy baby boy needs.
Re: Review: Chained Echoes - One Of The Very Best RPGs Of The Year
Game is plenty fun. The exposition that plagues the first hour or two starts to go away once the game settles into its groove.

@mereel lmao, an indie game gets a great score and then a hot take like this pops up. Classic. Hard to imagine having this ridiculous view.
