UK Charts: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Gets Kicked Out Of First Place

So? The games are old. Most people who consider themselves any kind of gamer have already played them. The new wore off and we're ready for actual new games to play.

Now that was a quick run...

There is no shame in being knocked off number 1, by a new Crash Bandicoot.

It was Sony's answer to Mario for a long time.

Next week is when FIFA takes over the charts for awhile.

Anyone played Star Wars Squadrons yet? Any good?

Thank goodness Grand Theft Auto V is not there anymore. It'll probably be back later but this is the first in a long time that game didn't make it to the top 10 and it's thanks to Minecraft and Mafia.

Third place is still good, considering two new games came out. Crash 4 is getting some solid reviews, hopefully the leaked Switch version isn't too far off.

I’m so happy for Crash but I want it on PC or Switch to be able to play it. 3D All Stars would’ve performed better if it was a proper remaster.

I wonder if the Steve Smash announcement gave Minecraft a boost, since it is one spot higher this week.

@status-204 I actually enjoyed the trilogy better than Super Mario 64 when I was a kid, even today.

The UK seems to love Crash for some reason. I remember how well N-Sane trilogy did. It was inexplicable.

If this came out the same week as Mario 3d all stars it wouldn't stand a chance.
Crash Bandicoot has always been a distant third when compared to Mario and Sonic, his games are average at best.

@Fandabidozi Not as yet but reviews have been very positive. Slight criticisms of its length but it has been released at a lower price.

On the one hand, Nintendo basically urged people to buy it at launch with a limited edition. On the other hand, are there physical copies available?

Besides, it seems than physical sales of Crash Bandicoot 4 in UK are 80% lower than N.sane Trilogy, that means a quite low figure for Super Mario 3D All-Stars at #3.

The game's very limited after all, so no surprise.

Love Mario 3D All Stars. Never played SM64 and Galaxy. So yeah, this is my top game together with Animal Crossing

I think everyone who would've bought the All Stars this week have already bought it during launch day by now.

Still think it's going to be a top 10 title throughout Christmas as people buy it with their new Switch.

Would love the new Crash game on the Switch as well tbf. It may be likely inferior to Galaxy 1 (in 3D All Stars) but still.....

Although I bought the physical copy of SMB AS 3D ,it should of never been 1st place ..It’s a collection of old games ,nothing new ..

@Fandabidozi It’s really good. Don’t know how it compares to other squadron games. It has a few glitches like you can get stuck in some levels and have to restart. I mean literally stuck running into another ship and I’ve heard that there is a glitch with your save data, but other than that it’s really fun. The power management is really engaging and you have complete control over the ship. I haven’t played online yet, but if it’s half as good as the story mode then it’s worth picking up.

Too much money for games I already have.

An impulse buy and it won't happen again, despite the pressure of "limited" availability which I now realize is scammy as all hell!!

Who are you to judge if a game you buy yourself, should be or not be at nr 1 on the top selling list? That’s just silly, like you are the only one that has the right reason(s) to buy the game.

You have not made any point or what so ever. There are multiple reasons why this game has been nr. 1 for a while. There are many others, just like you. I’m a collector also, so I just had to buy this game.

Many people have not played one or more games in this collection, so that’s a reason. Another reason is that the time of the release, no other big games were released just before or right after this one. It’s not that strange to be honest.

I can't imagine that the game will stay in the top 10 for very long. It had it's moment of fame, but it is nothing big further. It's a port of three great games that Nintendo have not put much time or work in. It's priced high and sold well. So be it.

Yes, I believe that when someone buys a game and then says it should not be at the nr.1 of the selling list is a bit strange. It means that you also had influence on that nr. 1 spot yourself. And then you complain that it has been on that spot and that it should have never gotten that spot. What’s so difficult about that?

I gave reasons why I believe this game went at nr. 1, I can’t do more than that. You can use caps lock In every single letter you use, I still can’t see your point. You are one of the buyers of this game, like me and many others. All together we brought this game at the number one spot. LOL

Good, crash 4 100% deserves it more than some lazy emulators

Crash 4 sales are not very good at all. Seems like people only bought Crash Trilogy for the nostalgia and nothing else.

The inevitable NSW/PS5/XSX|S/PC ports next year will flop. This game really needed to be a cross-generational launch title across all platforms to succeed.

Better interesting to see how Mario Kart Home Circuit does in a couple of weeks. Sure it's pricey, but with 8 still popping up in the top 10 it could be a giant money maker as well.

I predict that Crash will drop several places as early as next week, while Mario will keep selling strongly. Mario is a consistent, evergreen seller, while Crash is and always has been the "Mario, but EDGY!" also-ran.

Much like with Ring Fit Adventure, supply for Mario Kart Live will be an issue at launch and likely for the rest of the year.

@Shamrock It's still speculation that we will have Galaxy 2 as dlc. i suspect it will be an eshop release in March/April. maybe a discount if you have a 3d all stars save file.

Lol the salt here is delicious. The Crash serieshas proven to be a worthy rival to Mario and even surpasses some of his games IMO, and way ahead of the abomination that the Sonic series has become. Plus Crash 4 is an excellent game so it deserves the win. But apparently to some people here anything that isnt a Nintendo first party game is trash.
