Re: Talking Point: What We Hope to See in the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct

Aqueous

I'd half expect a surprise launch of "Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn" on the Wii U as VC. Other then that. Maybe an HD version of "Radiant Dawn" and "Path of Radiance".

But I do expect Fire Emblem: Fates to show up. There are two maps that are only Japan right now. Hoshidan Festival of Bonds and Nohrian Festival of Bonds. Which are support grinding maps with some new conversations and more Exalt Brands and Hero's Brands in them. They are similar to the "Scramble" maps from Awakening and I expect they either launch or are announced today.

Festival Plaza is a mess and although I signed up and caught 10 or 11 within the time limit, I scored 0 to add to the total because I never went back into the plaza and connected to submit my catches which I had assumed would be uploaded automatically but nope and I don't see why I had to, its not like my 3DS isn't connected to the internet at home and Festival Plaza is basically a convoluted series of disguised menus. Anyhow, back to my post game legend hunt.

Re: Feature: 10 Essential 3DS RPGs

@Frank90 - Camilla always fires in the channel that has the most troops. However I found that regardless to be a tad unfair. Especially since of the last 3 chapters only 1 of them had any exp in it, always causing me to be under leveled or force grinding.

As for the Awakening or Fates arguement. I'd go Conquest > Awakening > Revelations > Birthright. I got the stiff but fair challenge I wanted in Conquest that I didn't get in the other 3DS Fire Emblems while bringing me some decent dialogue in supports and a new twist on the plot. Revelations was a grind fest. Conquest has two chapters that lack exp and then expected me to handle two challenging chapters as if I wasn't lacking the levels I could have had otherwise and I hate that the maps were often rush to kill the right guys, cross my fingers, then sweep up the rest. Awakening was a pain in the butt with the enemy reinforcements that get to attack the turn they show up and the Valm chunk of the game felt like it was tacked on.

I wouldn't recommend Bravely Default to anyone, but that's me. It got dull and the bosses got silly difficult.

I assume the lack of photos and the fact that young people can't get this unless the parents pay and state they'll watch how the child uses it makes this round safer. Here's to hoping some old friends get back intouch and My Nintendo offers ink colours as rewards.

@Thomas - You got an "of" in stead of "or" here.
"EB Games for Canada of GameStop's UK site"

Could be useful. I rarely trade in games but there are a few old ones that if they were priced like new titles would be cheaper for me to find, of course I'll explore the normal options I have first because there are some very reasonably priced retro game sellers around me.

Re: Minecraft Introduces 'Tumble' Minigame in Console Update, With Wii U Maintenance on the Way

I've done this one the Wii U with a friend, its a blast, aside from resetting the arena. We quickly changed the arena to slime blocks, broke quickly, and forced us to bounce, risking falling in.

Last thing we did to it was what he coined "Pig Spleefing". We have saddled pigs above the lava on the platform and we had to be on the back of a pig at all times, so we bounced around the arena from pig to pig. I'm guessing Pig Spleefing will remain on our worlds but Tumble should be fun, much more relaxed and silly then Battle.

Re: Poll: How Much Do Early Access and Free Downloads Affect Your Purchasing Choices?

Aqueous

Unless the controls are dreadful I don't think the early access effects my buying plans, aside from maybe putting them higher or lower on "games to get next" list. Though normally they are too close to launch to change things.

I'm rather enjoying Blast Ball, there is some hidden skill in the game, figuring out where to be on the field, what shots to use when and what power ups you want and when to use them. Eject is a little too strong and the best defense against it I've seen was by the computer where they all stood in front of the net, making a wall till they could play again. There almost is a hidden luck based game when the ball first drops, its gotten me 3 scores in the first 1-2 second of a match, something to do with charge shot and the ball being bounced by the other players. It does suck when you get stuck with people who aren't sure of what they are up to and the opponents are aces by comparison. I hope friend match making is a thing in the full game, but for now, its a new multiplayer game with friends and I'm enjoying grabbing the paint jobs, as well as having rolled credits.

@Oat - When the full game launches in NA. The Blast Ball download in NA will lose the online and those servers will be used for the retail game of Federation Force/Blast Ball.
