Re: Soapbox: In Praise Of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Two Years On

@Mitch - While you can certainly get two students to go do "Stables Duty" and take care of horses. There is no horse back riding in game aside from pairing up with on a horse.

Good article. I hope next time the side stuff is maybe more pick and choose as the monastery takes a while. Of course playing with no new game+ makes it much faster.

Re: EB Games Canada To Rebrand To GameStop By The End Of This Year

Aqueous

It's a foolish waste of money. I have never heard of anyone wanting said change so I assume Shareholders are your main one there. It seems dumb to link your store's name to the failing company as well but again likely Shareholders.

As for GameStop exclusives we typically still got something in Canada. For example the original Diamond and Pearl pre order we got a DS case instead of the stylus topper. To me it means the end of this year instead of looking for what is EB Games exclusive I will have to look for the GameStop exclusives based on country and I am sure that will be easy to discover (eye roll).

Re: Soapbox: The Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 Trailer Is Already Spawning Theories

Its interesting that link has two different hair styles in the trailer.

Any time they are around sky islands link has the long or upbraided hair.

Any time they seem to be on the ground he has the little pony tail going on instead.

I would suspect something involving two characters or two realities is at play. The hair might be a factor to help differentiate the two.

Re: Memory Pak: My Very First Shiny Pokémon

Aqueous

Ah memories. My first random shiny was a Weedle in Pokemon Silver on a new game file I had just made before I even met Professor Oak. So no pokeballs. I much younger me ran hoping to find it again but of course no such luck.

I see a random shiny again until Gen 5 while ev training. I got a shiny durddigon which I caught and have in one of my games somewhere. Likely X but I am not sure.

Re: Soapbox: After 17 Years, Monster Hunter Rise Finally Made Me Kind Of Competent

Aqueous

The game is easier in that auto crafting, only needing one item instead of two, not needing drinks to help regulate temperature in extreme environments, smarter hit boxes, flexible buddy choices to fit one's play style. As well as better hit boxes as I had a Tigrex simply step over me during a charge attack that would have hurt me and sent me rolling in 4U or GenU.

So basically more streamlined, better/more options for the player. And in my opinion the difficulty curve is much cleaner, with it feeling like a ramp over steps to climb.

It also might help that they removed a lot of quests that were repeats. Hunting the same monster in the new environment is mostly gone. As are some of the gathering quests that filled up the quest lists, instead using the optional subquests to encourage you to gather plants and rocks. Leaving a few around to get you to search out some local resources.

Re: Soapbox: The Insect Glaive Is Still Awesome In Monster Hunter Rise

Aqueous

Working with Heavy Bowgun to get a better mastery of a ranged weapon. I will get back to my Charge Blades and maybe Lance's later. Insect Glaive was one I toyed with in 4U but my brother played it so there wasn't much point for me to use it.

I am planning on messing around with Hunting Horn, Insect Glaive, and Gunlance later to get better diversity in my weapons

Re: PSA: You Should Be More Of A Vicious Killer In Monster Hunter Rise

Aqueous

I mostly catch, it ends hunts faster and has better odds of rare parts. I am aware that some parts are quest reward/break/carve only so I'll head out to kill in those cases of needing those parts and because they are more common I need to do less of those hunts. So I plan to keep on capping most of the time.

Re: Soapbox: Monster Hunter Rise Is The Perfect Hybrid Game

Aqueous

I do miss the hot drinks, and cold drinks. It feels wrong entering an area without them. Especially as we could now enter a base camp to pick them up if we ran out or forgot.

Paintballs and pyscoserum being gone I miss less. It feels less strange not needing to mark monsters. At least there is no "go this way" arrow from the demo.

I also find it odd not needing various items for crafting.

However the game is as you say. More streamlined and pleasant to play.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Good, Actually

Aqueous

I loved the sword play once I got use to deliberate attacks rather than mash or fail and it felt good.

I enjoyed the world and beat regular mode, hard mode I think I am in the second round of temples but it has been sometime. I am hoping they show something new for it to help push me to a repurchase.

Re: Capcom Reveals The Most Used Weapon In The Monster Hunter Rise Demo

Aqueous

Interesting top three there.

I used a lot of charge Blade on the demo as it was my main in 4U and Gen U but they really changed up how it feels so I am not sure I will stick to it.

Might be time to return to the Lance. Though I am considering mixing it up and using a couple weapons this time around to diversify. Go with Heavy Bowgun, Lance, Gunlance, Hunting Horn, and Charge Blade (If I can get use to it).

Re: Feature: So, What Happened To Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Aqueous

My own guess was they are highlighting the "3" in 3D by having three games. I wouldn't be surprised by a galaxy bundle in the future having both together.

Of the theories here I think the time crunch one causing it to be cut out sounds most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if these were single releases as downloads in the future.

Re: Japan Is Getting A Medabot Collection On Nintendo Switch

Aqueous

I played the Medabots RPGs on Gameboy Advance that came out. So many hours burned on multiple files. Learning strategies and figuring the games out. I beat Rokusho version, played the post game. Pretty sure one of the post game areas glitched but I think I finished it all. Just never collected everything. Maybe I should get back on them again but they are very long games.

Re: The Legend Of Zelda Is Coming To Super Mario Maker 2

Aqueous

Well this is exciting. I guess it is soon time to get back to crafting some Mario levels.

This Master Sword power up reminds me of a flash game where you played Super Mario Bros. as different 8 Bit Nintendo characters with there own tricks. It was very basic comparably to what they are showing off here but it does bring some excitement to some future possibility. Samus with Ice beam for freezing foes in place? Pit with short flight? Wario with his wario land 3 move set? I'm curious to see if they do, do more with this.
