The Pokémon Generations videos have proven to be a big hit on YouTube, with weekly episodes of the slick animation taking us through all of the main game storylines one at a time.
Now Episode 8: The Cavern is live, and it's full of drama and some deliciously hammy acting. We imagine the voice actor for the episode's star - Team Aqua Leader Archie - had a lot of fun with their performance. Check it out below.
Are you still enjoying this animated series?

Kyogre smelled the pork and couldn't resist going back for a bite to eat.
I knew Ep 8 would be about Team Aqua, though I was expecting May, just like Brendan had his spot in the previous one.
I'm holding my breath that Ep 9 will show us more of Zinnia's backstory
Well, after seeing the episodes thus far, we can expect one more Gen III episode; hopefully either Zinnia or Steven Stone centred, next week.
The games were never really able to hammer home the power of these beasts, or their scale.
But wow...that's...wow.
I liked this episode because it shows how stupid Team Aqua's plan was all along. Long life to leader Maxie!
Wow... That was amazing! Definitely the best episode yet!
It was really able to show the power of the Primal Beasts!
Really played up the damage one of the Primal Pokemon could cause in this one. Kind of shocking they would play it as Archie dying possibly when he lives in the game.
I'm glad, as @BLPs said, to see a proper adaptation that clearly gives us a glimpse of what was going on in the games. What I'm not so glad about anymore is the dialogue. The dialogue is... how can I put it... simple. There's no real sense of danger, I mean, there is, but it's conveyed by the visuals, not by the characters.
I don't mean there's any need to spice things up that much, but as of late all dialogue boils down to "We're evil, that's why we do this!", while using stronger words such as "worship", or even more dynamic dialogue with interruptions and with less pauses, wouldn't have hurt the episode in the slightest.
And of course the Hoenn fans are pandered to once againThat was pretty cool!
What an amazing episode. Kygore basically devoured team aqua.
Is no one gonna say anything about Kyogre being able to frikkin FLY!? LIKE, WHAT THE HECK!?
@Frosty_09
Thing is, it's not that I want to see just that, but what I see in these episodes at times is what I've come to expect from the Pokémon anime, and not Pokémon Generations.
Pokémon Origins did a fantastic job at appealing to adults who loved the games. I just expected Generations to do the same.
The part where Archie was "talking" to Kyogre made me laugh. He is insane.
4th gen next, probably. Which reminds me, DP remakes are going to be on a (semi)home console now :3
Somebody should really take a Parasect to that Kyogre, it will drink all that water and ask for more.
Archie, Primal Kyogre is going to destroy everything.
Nah, it's fine, I have the blue orb. Go Primal Kyogre, destroy everything
What was the point of it? I mean, destroying the world? Really? Geez, Legendary are really just selfish jerks aren't they?
Wow, pretty intense episode. I was honestly expecting it to be a dream or something.
@Shard1 Can you blame them though? None of that would've happened if Archie listened. It's no wonder Legendaries don't trust humans.
I always felt that Team Magma was better because Maxie did not betray his team like Archie did in adventures as he condemned one of his men to death (but was luckily saved by Magma) and Archie murdered Maxie, so… I don't like Archie
Wait, is Generations canon? Because Archie doesn't die in the games (well, or this), and the last episode was based off of Omega Ruby while this was based off of Alpha Sapphire. I'm confused.
P.S. I also LOVE the Pokémon Adventures manga!!!! (I did read it before I played RSE though so I thought Blaise and Amber were from the games and not original characters 😛)
@LegendOfPokemon They could do the Emerald rout and say they just fought in their Primal forms instead?
Read the RS manga this summer, it was cool, but not as cool as GSC in my opinion Because of Ruby's plotforce of a legendary and that robot.
Hope the next episode will be about Zinnia and Aster.
@LegendOfPokemon Technically, we don't see them actually die (same for the vision in the previous episode), but these episodes are breaking canon from the games to a certain degree. I'm assuming they are attacked, survive, then help Brendan defeat Kyogre. That, or these are alternate "visions" wherein everything really does get destroyed.
The way you capitalise every single word in the titles of articles made me think the title of episode 8 was The Cavern Is Full Of Apocalyptic Scenes And Impressive Over-Acting. Just for a second, though.
Pokemon has always been full of hammy acting and apocalyptic scenes.
That was pretty awesome. I've said it before and I'll say it again: They need to ditch the main show for these guys.
