Re: Hands On: WarioWare Move It! Takes Us Right Back To A Wii Classic

@Not_Soos Yeah, the hype and marketing around Mario Wonder and Mario RPG makes me forget about WarioWare sometimes. Plus other big games on other platforms, like Forza and Spider-Man, are taking attention as well.

But I agree, Smooth Moves is one of (if not) the best games in the series. And after the good, but underwhelming, Get it Together… this should end up being a nice return to form and one of the best in the series. Here’s hoping haha.

I’ll watch to video later when I have time but judging from the article, it looks like a great time. I love WarioWare. However, Get it Together, while still a great game, felt too repetitive to me.

That game had limited controls since you were stuck to a handful of character move-sets. Plus some micro-games just didn’t feel built around a lot of the character’s controls, making it feel like you were fighting against the game rather than playing along with it.

With Move It, they’re going back to the classic structure of every micro-game controlling differently and I’m pumped for it!

Plus, I love the tropical island theme. Anything that reminds me of Hawaii gets bonus points haha.

Re: Epic Insists "Mediatonic's Work On Fall Guys Continues To Be A Company Priority"

Fall Guys has been feeling more and more barren recently. They removed seasons, player counts per game, and they rarely have events anymore.

This news of layoffs didn't help... but I'll remain hopeful. I think if they lower the scale of the game and focus on the basics, the game can swing back. The core gameplay is still fun but they kinda shot themselves in the foot by focusing so much on Fall Guys creative and vaulting rounds.

If they focus on bringing back more rounds, having regular events, and having some cool fame passes (which are reasonably priced now)... I think the game still has a solid future. The upcoming Halloween fame pass looks great.

Maybe I'm just optimistic cause I like the game haha but here's hoping.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's DLC Catches An International Physical Release This November

I liked the main game but I was hoping they’d address the visuals, bugs, and performance issues. As it is, it’s a great game that is plagued by a ton of technical issues.

However, I’ve heard nothing but bad to mediocre things about the DLC, both online and from friends. The DLC is a hard pass for me, and this “physical” edition not including all of it on the cart is a joke.

I get they want a holiday release, and this makes sense financially. But it’s a slap in the face to series fans and collectors.

Re: Review: NBA 2K24 - A Step Back That Fumbles The Ball On Switch

  • Insane microtransactions that are shoved down your throat and are almost necessary for MyCareer without insane grinding
  • Introduction of paid season passes
  • Removal of a story in MyCareer
  • Basically nothing new game mode or gameplay-wise aside from Mamba Moments (which seem worse than last years Jordan Challenges)

Not only is it not worth upgrading from 2K23, but 2K24 is actually somehow WORSE than that game. You’re best off getting a cheap copy of 2K23 and updating the roster using the community feature.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Nintendo Direct, Then?

Altaria_97

It was a decent showing. Paper Mario really saved it at the end. Without it, I think people would’ve been really upset.

But I’m happy. I’ve been asking for a return to form for Paper Mario since Sticker Star came out in 2012. It’s been over a decade since I’ve been dreaming of either a new game in the old style or a remake of either of the original titles. Now, we have the n64 version through NSO and an HD remake of TTYD releasing… it’s kind of surreal for me!

The other thing that surprised me was how good Peach’s Showtime looked. It looks kinda like Yoshi’s Crafted World and Luigi’s Mansion 3 had a baby. Lots of creativity and I love the theming. I was intrigued before but now I’m hyped!

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (dropping the Dark Moon subtitle here in the states now) looked great too. I mean, it’s nothing crazy. Just an upressed version of the game. But it’s one of my favorite 3DS games so I’m stoked to play it on the big screen in HD. The 3DS feels cumbersome nowadays. I just might wait for a sale unless they really pump up the visuals between now and release.

I definitely want to play the Mario vs Donkey Kong remake but $50 is just too much for it. I enjoyed the GBA original back in the day but given its simplicity, I’m waiting for it to drop to $30 or so unless I can get it in a Buy 2 Get 1 sale.

And that’s about all I cared about. The new Contra game looks interesting, I suppose. But yeah, that’s about all I got.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Pikmin 1+2 On Switch

@Uncle_Franklin Same here. I can easily purchase them digitally or play them on Dolphin but I’d rather wait for the physical release so I can play them in HD on my living room TV… and I just prefer physical media when possible.

I have a lot of games in my backlog to play in the meantime but I find it really weird to release the physical remasters two months after 4.
