The first couple of years I exclusively used the Wii remote's motion controls for MKWii. Then when I switched to public school, I remember a couple friends showing me the more competitive nature of the game. I used the GameCube controller from then on, despite never playing in tournaments or using any "competitive" combos.

For MK8D, I've always used buttons. I'll use the joy-cons in handheld mode but always use the Pro controller in TV mode.

Just got back from vacation and I have Co-vid (for the first time, believe it or not). I'll be waiting a week or two until I know I don't have it, then I'll go to the theater with a friend or two.

I know it's not going to be anything incredible but I'm looking forward to it being a silly and fun time.

Everything’s seems good to me. My expectations were for it to be a decent but fun experience. I have covid at the moment but as soon as I get better I’m gonna go out and see it.

Advance Wars and Tears of the Kingdom but I’ll probably wait a bit to get them. That Zelda Pro controller is tempting me though!

That’s amazing. Shame he’s stuck on the mobile app, id love to race with him in MK8.

I’d have to look through all the years in detail and chart the games I played that came out from that year. Might actually be fun to do with a buddy.

@Bobb Seems to be because they used the community ranking average to order them, but they used their own “final verdict” section of the site’s review to describe the title.

It works a lot of the time but in this case… not so much haha.

Oddly enough, New Horizons came out at probably the worst time for me. The new job I had, piled with the pandemic, caused me to have major stress and mental health issues. Derealization made it so I couldn’t enjoy anything as everything felt unreal and fake. All this after waiting 7 years for the next main series game. Thankfully I’ve recovered from all that at this point but man, what a terrible period in my life.

That being said, the game was a huge happy place for many during a terrible time. It really was great and I think I’m going to restart the game sometime this Spring. I have access to the DLC too with the expansion pack!

Gonna give it a go if there’s a demo. I remember trying the Bayonetta 2 demo back on the Wii U and liking it, but I was a senior in high school trying to save most of my money to pay for college. Maybe this’ll be the game that gets me into the series despite the gameplay differences.

I played and loved the game but they need to fix the performance and glitches. It's probably the best Pokemon game behind such a messy window of bugs and stutters.

Outside of that, the only other thing I really want is some post-game battles in the form of a Battle Tower or Battle Frontier. I was very disappointed to see them omitted. Now that I beat the main story and small post-game, all there is to do is shiny hunt and do Tera-raid battles. The DLC will probably fix this but it's a shame this is one of the few Pokemon games without a proper battle tower.

If Camelot didn't completely botch Mario Golf Super Rush then I would probably pick that up lol. I remember playing my brother's copy when I lived with him... it was such a slap in the face to longtime fans of the series.

A Pokémon health app for gym routines, exercise, nutrition, and meditation would actually be sweet.

My favorite year was either 2017 or 2019. I also really enjoyed 2021. And the first half of this year is packed... I seem to like the odd year for some reason lol.

Sweet. Now every mainline 2D Metroid will be playable on Switch (not including remakes).

I’m holding out for Zero Mission, though. The original Metroid is the only game in the series that desperately needed the remake treatment.

On my original model 3DS (un-modded) I have the Animal Crossing Isabelle bulletin board theme. I highly recommend that one.

On my New 3DS XL (modded), I have a custom Pokémon Mystery Dungeon one I found online. Easily one of the coolest themes.

Looks good to me. The Yoshi's Island and Singapore Speedway tracks look great. I'm also excited to replay Riverside Park, Waluigi Stadium, and DK Summit.

Seems like a good pack to me.

@Altaria_97 Less than an hour after posting this I got lucky and found it for store pickup at Best Buy. Says it'll be at the store on the 7th so I'll snag it after work and the gym. Very stoked.

It's been a week and still can't find anything. Amazon pre-order still isn't budging, and I couldn't find any copies locally in any stores. It's kind of impressive they understocked this so much. I'm still waiting for the physical.

Cool to see them bring back old cosmetics. They’re a pain to collect them all since it involves so much play time so keeping this system would be a good idea.

The crown for A ranks is also a neat idea. Don’t know if I’m A in any but I know I’m at least B in a couple of the sports. Haven’t played in a couple months but I might boot the game back up this weekend.

We’re definitely getting another presents later this year closer to the dlc release but man… this current one felt lackluster.

What a boring event. The only notable thing was the Scarlet/Violet DLC which they barely showed anything of and isn’t coming out until fall. I went with low expectations and they somehow underdelivered on them lol.

I thought this was already confirmed but maybe I'm just used to not expecting the 3 to show up at E3 anymore lol.

Amazon order still not coming. Went to two store after work and zero stock. If I can’t find a copy come Sunday I’ll just buy it digitally. I want to be able to sit back and play it all Sunday.

@Paulo Very true. It’s smaller scale just makes me think they have another 3D platformer very far in development that they’re trying to lineup with a new system. Bowsers Fury is goated tho.

Played the demo and enjoyed it a lot. Way better than what I played of Star Allies. I’ll be picking it up once I finish a few more games.

Given how long it's been since Odyssey and Mario Maker 2, they're most likely just waiting to release the games with new hardware. A new Mario game will help sell a Switch Pro or next-gen system.

Seems like whenever I go, I’ll just wait in line for the Mario Kart ride, go to a gift shop, then hop back to the base Universal Park. The rest seems like a pain.

Don’t see why they wouldn’t work. Nintendo clearly stated that multiplayer features would work with the GB/GBA apps.

For some reason I thought Octopath 2 was coming out in March. It's a very packed week between this, Metroid, and Kirby.

Unless I missed it, they didn’t mention fixing the ground clipping issue. Or performance. Those were my only two real problems while playing.

@Browny Same story here. Late March. I’ll try to pick up a copy during my lunch break on release day and if I can’t find one in stores within a day or two then I’ll just get it digitally.

Wild Guess:
I have a feeling ILCA is working on a traditional, more linear game in the Paldea region. Basically Scarlet and Violet but maybe a couple year in the past with the style of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. That would be very interesting.

Also, I'll be waiting to pick this up if I can't snag it for $60 or cheaper. I have trouble justifying most titles more than $50 as it is.

GameStop won't let me pre-order it. The button is there but when I click it I'm told it can't be added to the cart at this time. Think some lucky people got the $60 pre-order and they took notice fast.

I haven't played a Layton game but now seems like a great time to start the series. I have the Miracle Mask on 3DS that I bought on a clearance rack a while back and I still haven't popped it in my system lol.

Regardless, this was a fun surprise and I'm excited to give the franchise a go.

Sweet, I'll probably pick this up on my Xbox or PC but I'm glad to hear it's a fun time. The Battle for Bikini Bottom remake was a lot of fun.

I want all of them but picking two for the next additions... I'd go with Diddy Kong Racing and Donkey Kong 64.

I like tropical vibes so Hoenn and Alola are top two, but Kalos and Johto would be fun locations as well.

I only have two amiibo. The Wolf Link that came bundled with my copy of Twilight Princess HD back in 2016 and the Pink Yarn Yoshi. I bought the Yarn Yoshi impulsively because it was on clearance and I’m a sucker for plushies.
